Jennifer. You do not see what we see. We see a beautiful, talented, wife, mother and working woman holding down two jobs. Sometimes you have to say, hey that didn't work; let's just move on. You are permitted to hit the 'PAUSE' button on your life. It helps to recharge and focus.
You are NOT a failure! You are a wife, mom, full time employee, and have many side hustles. I was actually surprised you committed to Vlogust and am impressed you posted as much as you did. Give yourself grace and know your health (physical and mental) are more important than posting videos! ❤
Can't believe I'm here first! If you are going to be traveling a lot for work and staying in hotels you might want to invest in a portable lock. More than once they have stopped someone from coming into my room. Both times it was a front desk error but you never know.
I love the “Hi I’m Jen” moment at the top of the video. You look gorgeous in the black top w/lacy sleeves and Kendra Scott drop earrings, and you are amazing! Congrats on 10 hours of sleep - drinking my coffee while watching your vids is one of my self-care practices, sleep is too and you deserve self-care too! Appreciate you SO MUCH Jen!
Please don’t even worry about missing days of videos. I don’t know how you work full time, take care of a home and family and do UTube. You did great in my opinion. 👍😊
I am based in Australia where we have been in hard lock down for 12 weeks and boarders closed for 18 months. The thought of flying somewhere feels very far away 😂 living vicariously through you Jen
Whenever I got my braces tightened, I always made sure to meal prep some soups or chili ahead of time. It really helped out a lot. And no apologies necessary....absolutely L🤍VE Vlogust. 😊
I just absolutely love watching your channel. You give me so much inspiration. You are so genuine, funny, hard working and have so much integrity. Seriously Jen, you’re the 💣💣💣
Spent a few years in SLC and the liquor laws always baffled me. If I remember right, you needed a certain number of people at the table to order a pitcher…two is not that number 😂
Go puff actually originated in Philly. Two students from Drexel University (where my daughter graduated from) created the concept/app! It is very convenient for college kids i.e. they deliver Gatorade to hungover college kids 😆 or frozen pizzas to traveling middle aged women lol
Youz a superstar Jen! You do so much and I really appreciate throwing in vids on top of it all :) I’m glad you have a safe SLC trip and enjoyed coming along with you :) glad you were able to be back in the Windy City!
I promise the braces will get better! I laughed when I saw the food selection. I remember being so desperate to eat and trying random foods too. It will be worth it. 😀
You are in a city I love! I live a couple of hours away. I know exactly where you stayed and ate. 😁😁 We have driven to and shopped there all of my life. I am 62. I actually go to the University of Utah Hospital for all of my doctor care. I have autoimmune, heart and lung disease, and had cancer in my lung so I need good doctors and care. I feel like I have the best! We’ve eaten at Red Iguana many times. It’s such a funny little place. My husband loves the different moles they have there. Utah has always been famous for their liquor laws. It actually used to be worse. It is because of the religious influence in the area. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints so it has never been a problem for me because I don’t drink. Don’t feel bad about not getting pictures of the temple because it is in the middle of being totally renovated. Please do come back and get pictures when it is finished. I promise you it will be so beautiful and you won’t regret it. 💗🌸 I hope you enjoyed your stay a little bit. Salt Lake really is a great city!
If you ever get the opportunity to travel to SLC again you should definitely go to see the temple. It’s beautiful! My husband is from SLC. The majority of his family still live in SLC or close by. We’re actually heading to SLC for our nephew’s wedding later this week.
I can’t believe that room didn’t have like a top inside lock. Like a lock that can’t be open from the outside. I was a travel agent for Disney for 15 years and that room was so not good. The cords on the TV - the dirty shower. 🤦🏻♀️
Looks like your room was perhaps a senior living facility as the room off the kitchen was definitely a laundry room at one time. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Thank you Jen. Please don't apologize. I think I can safely say that everyone in here is just so excited and happy to see a video or vlog from you that it doesn't matter if it's not everyday. None of us could probably not do it either. You are amazing Super Jen.
I've traveled alot for work and I totally get it!! There is just a VIBE that you feel and always stick with gut instincts! Don't think I haven't done things like this too.
Hey Jen thank you for sharing this with us. That one room is set up to have a washer and dryer. I have been in a lot of hotels when I was younger and never had a kitchen so I thought that was cool. Also Jen please don’t apologize you are a very busy person and sometimes it is what it is, you deserve to take time for yourself which I know doesn’t happen much. I think you are a wonderful person and so down to earth and I look forward to seeing you whether you can only post one video or ten. Hugs 🤗 from Canada 🇨🇦.
I had braces as an adult too. It was tough getting use to them. But it gets better. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I don’t know how you get so much done. Your an inspiration to us all!
Thanks for sharing. I live in MN and my aunt lives in Iowa so she comes up here to fly out to other places also. I know you were on a work trip but so close to Christine it's too bad you didn't get to meet up.
The ironing board reminds me of every trip we take to hotels. I always prop a chair against the door under the knob. It’s mostly so my curious toddlers don’t wake up before me and escape. Not that they every do, but I’m extremely paranoid. So now I’m even more thankful I do it because I definitely wouldn’t want anyone coming in either.
We live about 30 miles north of SLC. We moved here 4 years ago from CA to retire. We actually drive to Idaho to stock up on wine as the prices in our State liquor Store are very expensive, and aside from beer that is the only place you can buy liquor. Our son lives here so prior to moving here we have visited a lot, and believe me the laws used to be much stricter. The Red Iguana is our favorite Mexican restaurant. It is always busy They now have a Red Iguana II, and that has helped the long waits one can have. Aside from the liquor laws Utah is a great place to live
I travel through the salt lake city airport 1-2 times a year on my way to visit with family in Montana. This summer we were there in June during the construction and it was horrible! Super hot inside and we had to take a bus to our plane. It happened to be 90 degrees there that day and walking outside to the bus was so hot. I am looking forward to seeing all the changes next time we are there! It's always been one of my favorite airports. Hopefully, they kept the McDonald's because it was not open when we were there and my kids love to eat there lol!
From Utah, and while I don't drink I don't understand that liquor laws, either. Also the SL Temple is in the process of being retrofitted for earthquake safety, so it is under construction right now. :)
My favorite airlines are Delta and JetBlue- that motel space definitely looks formatted to be used as a long term residence- i travel alone also and plan to buy a door block to take with me moving forward- thanks for sharing!
Hi you are amazing you work so hard don’t beat yourself up about everything we love all of your content and every thing you do we need to say thank you to you for sharing your life with us sending love prayers and blessings x
You can actually only buy beer and wine in grocery stores in a lot of states. I was surprised when I moved out of California because I thought you could buy liquor at any grocery store across the country! Lol.
I love traveling with you! You are an amazing person and we want you to take care of yourself. Don’t apologize for anything!! Self care is so important. See you in Chicago!
cous cous, quinoa, steam/boil the crap out of veges, mashed potato, ritz crackers (with dip). Saving graces when I got my braces on/ after an adjustment.
OMG I've been to the Red Iguana ... twice in fact !! I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and we went while at convention a couple times. There was a line out the door ! Great food.
I'm always so happy with any amount of videos you post. Don't be so hard on yourself. YOU DO ALOT. Even when you don't that is okay. Must say you do alot more then me. I just don't compare myself to other people so I don't feel horrible about myself. When I was a kid we stayed in a hotel in Oklahoma and my dad put a chair under the door handle. Minnesota you can only buy 3.2 beer in stores. Only state in the country.
Jen I highly recommend seeing a dietitian that works with the Health At Every Size approach, I’ve found it so helpful in healing my relationship with food! (Btw this is not a comment about your size or food, I’ve just noticed you are often trying more restrictive diets).
Y’all, let’s share Jens channel...she’s been at 117k for too long, and she should be at 200k ! I just shared her channel with all of my friends :) it’s my fave channel !
Hey mama!! Super random but just wanted to ask…do you have a way of getting in touch with hungryroot? I ordered them off your last video bc it looked so good, and everything came spoiled😩well apparently they have no customer service and I just thought since your videos are sponsored by them if you had a secret way to get in touch with them?!? On a different note, love your videos!!
As a Minnesotan...yes, the airport is wonky af. I'm glad you were able to make your second layover/connection thingy. Just fyi...I love any content you give us. I know you wanted to do vlogust, but you gotta do what you can. We're all still here for you and it. I'm sorry your braces still suck and it's killed your paleo/keto eating. I hope you end up being happy in the long run. Personally, I don't think you should've gotten braces unless you truly wanted them. Because screw those people. That was not the first thing I noticed when I found your channel. First thing I noticed was you're HILARIOUS. One of the first videos I watched, you were ranting about how people on the internet are such keyboard warriors. And it just filled my heart with happy to see someone basically tell the assholes to sod off.
Hi Jen! You were in my neighborhood. I live about 2 miles south of the Red Iguana. I eat there on rare occasions, lol. I just never know what to order. Hate when I order something I don't like, or it is just bleh. A couple of years ago, I went with a group of people, it was work related. I ordered something different on the advice of a co worker and I liked it. Also, the restaurant is on North Temple.
I live in SLC and was a waitress- it’s also hard serving the alcohol here to remember all the rules! For example You could have two beers in front of you , or one beer and one margarita, but not two margaritas 😂
I stayed at a “Convention Center” compound in Virginia for work (2 weeks) and it was the sketchiest hotel ever. Buildings spread across the campus, tunnels underground to connect them and the hotel buildings were complete concrete. Reminded me of the hunger games. I always walked with a coworker when leaving my hotel room because the tunnels and grounds were creepy. One night the power even went out and they gave us glow sticks to compensate for lighting. 🤦🏼♀️
@@merrilo5960 this was back in 2016ish timeframe. The tunnels were creepy, rooms were tiny, almost all concrete. Such a weird spot lol. We asked our work to never put us there again.
@@brandynicole6522 I live nearby and our company hosted our corporate global annual conference and holiday party there. Which had previously been in Ireland and Brazil. Corporate never came back to Virginia after that! 😂
Jen!! I lived in Utah for 5 years and the liquor laws are crazy sauce! Even if you get a mixed cocktail they use something called a “berg” that measures the amount of alcohol that comes out of the bottle - it’s wild! I’m from the Midwest also so it’s funny to see the state liquor store is the most popular place in town. *secretly* 🤫🤣
What a weird hotel room! My daughter is 9 years old and will need braces in the future. She's really excited to get them but I've let her know that it is very uncomfortable and painful in the beginning. She insists that it won't hurt. 🙃🙃🙃 Watching your videos reminds me that she's going to be very very uncomfortable and likely very cranky. If it's annoying and uncomfortable to you, imagine how it will feel to a 10 year old. You are preparing me so that I give her extra grace and understanding when she's having a difficult time.
I/we would fly Delta, but it's too expensive for me/us. We always fly Southwest. We don't live near a hub so we have a two and a half/three hour drive to the airport. We usually fly out very early so we'll overnight in the airport city.
Hi! Check out some flight attendant videos, I saw one a while back w a special door lock made for travel and hotels. It’s small and easy to travel with. Sorry, I don’t remember what it was called, but worth checking into!!
Looks like you visited us during all the wild smokiness! I wish I could have met up with you! I live about 45 minutes away. Utah is definitely a weird place 🤣🤣 no wine in our Trader Joe's, no monthly wine subscription clubs... but the mountains are really pretty! I am also an RN so I'm always super curious about your job, extra curious about what your work consisted of in Utah! I hope you had a decent time!
Looks like your group of hotel rooms were condos that Renaissance purchased and converted to hotel rooms. Probably also why they are not attached to the main hotel. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
Jen, Residence Inn has properties they rent by the week or month that are more like apartments than hotels. I think they stuck you in one of those. I hope you had the iron within arms reach in case the ironing board fell.
I always like your videos. My favorite airplane is Hawaiian. Due to COVID I haven’t traveled in 2 yrs. & I miss it. I live on Kauai. I did have to fly to Honolulu two weeks ago to get my pacemaker/defibrillator replaced urgent the battery was giving giving out after 7 yrs. Surgery went well & I was able to fly back home the same nite. I am looking forward to your next trip to Chicago. I’m also originally from the Midwest (Wisconsin & Northern Minnesota).
I wonder if some of the unconventional features of the room were due to it being handicap accessible? Like the huge open spaces? That room with the faucets on the wall… so weird though lol
I took my son to Dallas for his Birthday, I thought oh a home wood suites that will be nice. It was dirty, our shower was DISGUSTING there were still dog muddy prints in it.
I have read that when you are staying in a hotel, you need to ask for someone to come clean your room. Otherwise they won't. Saves them money. They say it is better for the environment not to wash all those towels, etc. Piffle! Sure and then they can hire fewer workers. Those are entry level jobs for people without too many other options. So ask to have your room "serviced". Save a job!

If it's annoying and uncomfortable to you, imagine how it will feel to a 10 year old. You are preparing me so that I give her extra grace and understanding when she's having a difficult time.
You asked who we loved to fly….I’m a SWA girl all the way…I ❤️ the Luv airline!
Nah that hotel is sketchy lol. It seems like the kind of hotel where some people maybe live though to me.
Jen, Residence Inn has properties they rent by the week or month that are more like apartments than hotels. I think they stuck you in one of those. I hope you had the iron within arms reach in case the ironing board fell.
Thanks for sharing all of this. I loved it
I always like your videos.
I fully expected a dinner date with Christine.
It’s been so smoky here!!! Sorry you missed the amazing views!
Hey Jen what is it that you do? I know medical stuff but.. Lol
I have always wanted a job where I could travel and meet with clients.
Love the travel vlogs. I rarely travel by plane so it’s fun to go with you.
I always put something in front of the door when I travel alone. At least the noise will wake me up before I become a true crime podcast episode. 😂
I wonder if some of the unconventional features of the room were due to it being handicap accessible? Like the huge open spaces? That room with the faucets on the wall… so weird though lol
Love traveling with you 🙂
My favorite airline is Southwest! 🛩
Save a job!
