someone wrote about the deleted scene with Louis and Marshall and its true they should have kept that in. It explains a lot especially when Louis says "there is something out there for me I can hear it" and what if she needs me. Love, Love this movie.
This movie is everything. Everything. It's perfect, it's beautiful, it speaks to your soul, it makes sense, it makes you feel something. It is a movie that demands to be seen and heard, you don't just walk away from it like nothing happened... A cinematic masterpiece ❤
It really doesn’t get much better than this. The music alone is gorgeous, but paired with the story, the performances…it’s transcendent, really something special. And the little girl’s part is so amazing, you want it to go on forever, but it ends in an almost stressful way, showing that things of such beauty don’t last long down here.
Look at it this way as well. All beautiful things don't last, but it carries on whether it's still beautiful or not so the instruments carries on that weight.
I totally agree. When I need to erase the chaos of life from my mind I always pull this up to recapture my peace of mind. It is beautiful and I pray they never attempt to remake it. in this case the original is an exquisite and priceless work of genius. ❤❤❤❤
This is the reunion scene, and it's perfect. You can see what's going through the characters minds without a word being spoken. You see it in the joy in Layla's face and the little laugh she gives when she sees Louis. And you see it in the shock on Louis'face when he sees August. But the best part of the scene is right at the end before the screen goes black, August smiles and begins to turn. He's turning around to see his parents, but he's smiling because he already knows they're there. Adding anything more than this would have been unnecessary, and would have ruined the feel of the whole scene.
That moment...when he turns away from her enchanted stare and his lips seem to part on a breath of instant understanding that the boy on stage is his son.....ugh. Her eyes convey so much in such a short amount of time! " You found me, I love you, look at the wonder we created. " A non-verbal masterpiece!
When I was younger I use to dream that this would be how I would find my birth parents. The innocence of it all had me weeping as a child because I knew this wouldn't be my reality. I've always been a pessimist. I know this to be true, just not for me. I got over it, but every so often I come and listen to this song to ground me, and keep me on my journey of self love and awareness. I'm sure some people meet their birth parents in cool ways so that brings me peace.
This is my #1 go to movie. I have watched it 37 times, start to finish and can recite the entire movie, line by line. Never gets old, and always lifts my spirits no matter how crappy the day has been.
You got me beat. It is one of my all time favorite movies, but I've only see it about 10 times all the way through. I love to imagine how the next scene would go, with the parents going up to the stage and August coming down, and right b4 they embrace, The social worker grabs the boy away and throws him in an orphange and no one ever sees him again. Either that, or the two main teacher characters come over and say, "Ah, Lyla, I see you met August." Then a lot of 'splaining needs to be done.
A truly exceptional film! The story is very well crafted and balanced, and I cannot fathom why it only received one Oscar award. 'August Rush' is a beautifully crafted movie that seamlessly blends together the power of music, the importance of family, and the magic of love. The performances are outstanding, especially Freddie Highmore's portrayal of the musically gifted Evan Taylor. The film's unique approach to storytelling, coupled with its stunning visuals and breathtaking soundtrack, make it an absolute must-watch for anyone who appreciates the beauty of music and the power of love. Imagine that the boy you’re dueling guitar with at the park is actually your son, who you don’t know even exist...but thanks God that you’re the one who made your son go to his concert, if it’s not you won’t be able found the love of your live and found out that you have a son. Mother: A successful cellist Father: An amazing singer and and great guitarist Son: A music genius Imagine how their house would be like.. maybe full of music..
This movie is laughed at because it's about musicians, but the music is awful. Anyone can slap a guitar in open tuning and sound decent. The chances of him meeting another guitar player using the same non-standard tuning are absurdly low. The Dad played in an Irish rock band so it made sense that his guitar was tuned DADGAD. If I happened to meet some kid that also had a guitar tuned in DADGAD I would honestly wonder if I was related to them. Just like in that Liam Neeson movie where he noticed one of the bad guys accidentally picked up a left-guitar and the hero noticed it. But the movie is about a series of seemingly unrelated happy accidents that bring a family together. If you can view it as pure entertainment, that's great.

I am beyond in love with this movie. I have always lived classical, but this takes it to a whole new level - each time I watch this movie I get chills. The music is so beautiful and transcendent - it exceeds beyond the meaning of music. This is what music is supposed to do, it’s supposed to touch your soul.
Still take me back when i was in high school obsessed over Keri Russell and the music of this film and innocence of all three characters especially Evans and keri Russell. Freddie highmore's eyes can make you feel things. They have such longing in them
He looks at her, his heart knows. As he walks her way he touches her hand, her heart knows as she turns towards him. Together once more true Love, as they watch their son perform. Then As their son turns around he notices them and smiles. Family bond Perfection.
Well keep in mind she was looking for her son. He was looking for her. He had no idea he had a son until 3:29 when he looks up and the "oh shit" look briefly crosses his face as he comes to realize why she's there.
The movie was wonderful . I enjoyed it from the beginning to the final scene. Robin William was terrific in it . Freddie Highmore is an amazing actor and I love him in the good doctor.

I love this last scene....the whole movie your waiting for him to find his parents....and there they are standing next to each other! BEAUTIFUL!! Love this whole movie! Truly as one person put it...underrated !!!! Love the music too!
3:36 I've never noticed this before, but at this moment, he stops conducting and hesitates (you can see his hand is shaking because the baton shakes); he can FEEL his parents. This movie is a masterpiece and is one of the most underrated films I've ever seen.
I like how his dad is proud of him before even knowing that’s his son.
He guessed it, because he felt something when he was playing the guitar with him and turned around several times as he left.

In the sequel screen play you find out that dad's a drunk with an Irish temper and moms a helicopter parent with daddy issues that plague the relationship. The kid, who has been on his own til now, can't take it and he leaves in the night with a woman from the local county fair. The kid becomes a game operator and marries a bar fly.
Just kidding
I need the second part of this movie ,fine don't give a second part just give me 30 seconds where they get to hug him that's I'll I want. Omg I'm crying and I've seen this movie countless of times omg this part kills me 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I thought that exact same thing when i saw it in theaters
That's why it's a great movie, the best stories always make you want more.
Can you tell me witch movie this is?
@@mariadjaylino9918 August rush
Right? Most of them love that part & I’m sure about it
Just finished this movie for the first time. This movie is the first time tears have fallen from my eyes since the day I learned my mother would not survive much longer in 2020. Now it is this, Forrest Gump when He talks to Jenny, and Reign over me when he talks about his little girls in the counselor’s office.
I just got back from watching orchestra and immediately thought of August Rush and came across this video. The most magical scene for is when August closes his eyes, sending instinct to his dad to turn aside and find mom.. i love that scene 2:00 ❤
That smile at the end spoke volumes, and yes the music is all around us
It’s the universal language
This film is so underrated, haven't seen it anywhere but put on TV randomly a few years ago and I loved it.
Freddie Highmore is an excellent actor! More importantly, he seems like a cool person!
yep, I agree. He even learned to play the guitar sequences featured in the film!!!
La historia mas hermosa, triste pero a la vez la mas hermosa que pude ver. Llega hasta el fondo del corazon. No me cansaria de verla una y mil veces.
to all who read this, and all who don't...sending you infinite peace, perfect health, abundant wealth, joyous freedom, and unconditional love...

Gracias igualmente para Ti, paz infinita. 🙏
This movie was about Lila looking for her long lost son and Louis looking for his long lost love... But it was actually the father and the son that found each other *tear*
What movie is that? Please, thankyou

I love the scene of them jamming on the guitars in the park, it's a real father and son bonding moment even if neither one realizes it at the time.
isn't he the sweetest cheeky little boy ever?! my heart melts evrey time he smiles
I love the magic of this scene. August sees them in his head and literally wills his Dad to turn to look at his Mom.
I remember seeing this in theatres with my dad. I can remember sitting in the second to last row watching this scene and seeing out of the corner of my eye my dad with tears in his eyes. He doesn't get that emotional, especially over a film but this film, especially this moment in the film, deeply touched him and I. This film is so beautiful and I am treasure my dvd copy of it. Thank you so much for uploading this scene.
This scene still gives me chills. In all the best ways. Such a great movie
This movie is a masterpiece, too beautiful, it shows us how music can move our hearts
If I was August and I saw my long lost parents, I would have jumped off the stage and embrace them!
I remember this in theaters. Not a dry eye in sight afterwards, I swear.
Not a dry eye just from this video.
😭that would be me .......
Not a dry eye here either (and we've watched the film countless times). It has a powerful message, beautiful music, and an excellent performance by young FH (and the rest of the cast as well ofc) but hats off to him
Beautiful , Composition is perfect , the little girl singing is amazing and with the music brings a tear
Thats so awesome how she recognizes her own music and who else would know what she plays? Thats how she knew it was him.
Are you talking about the cello solo that he had in his rhapsody symphony?
Why am I only now realizing this is Freddie Highmore and he's the lead in the good doctor now . Jesus 🤦♀️
I feel so old.
I'm old😭😭😭😭
He was an amazing child actor! I grew up watching his movies
Thank god i read ur comment, or else i would have spent a big good portion of the rest of my day wondering where I had seen the guy,but older😂
@@tashatashianaboodhoo6164 i spent the last year or so watching the good doctor wondering the opposite. I knew about Charlie and the chocolate factory but I was like "nah he difinetly from somewhere else '
I love August Rush esp. this last part he felt his mom and dad is there...so very touching scene..time and again i always watch this beautiful movie with the late Robin Williams♥️
This movie has always been a favorite, one I watch over and over again!
I’m so glad that other people feel the way I do. I thought I was alone in my awe for this movie. Thank you Freddie you inspired me.
Still one of the most beautiful movies I've ever watched
I" ve saw this film and feel very strongly that Freddie Highmore is the very best in this film. I cry each and every time I view it. The casting, the portrayals of the characters are superb. The score, the music unbelievable!!
I love how she laughs and a few moments later so does August it is such a filled with happiness kind of laughter. Beautiful 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This ending scene never fails to bring on happy tears!
Who else wanted to see the whole reunion of him running into his parent's arms
The ending is perfect.
I would have loved to see that. I would have teared up if he jumped off the stage and hugged both his parents just as his Rhapsody ended.
They have such longing in them
Freddie, was so young in this. He portrayed this part beautifully. That final shot of his smiling makes me cry.
I still wish they would have shown us them coming together. I just feel like I really needed to see it 🥴😂😂🤣♥️
Ikr 😂😂
We too!
La escena más hermosa de todo Hollywood y la película más infravalorada que hay
He looks at her, his heart knows.
As he walks her way he touches her hand, her heart knows as she turns towards him. Together once more true Love, as they watch their son perform.
Then As their son turns around he notices them and smiles. Family bond
Perfection.
Well keep in mind she was looking for her son. He was looking for her. He had no idea he had a son until 3:29 when he looks up and the "oh shit" look briefly crosses his face as he comes to realize why she's there.
Well said!!!!!
I love this scene, although I would have liked the three of them to hug each other with parents and son
i'm not crying. you're crying.
shhhh, they weren't supposed to know!
Me encanta esta película, y la melodía... me encantaría que este tipo de música no muriera por la influencia de los nuevos géneros de hoy en día ❣

My blessing was the voice of tue little girl.. so heavenly..
The movie was wonderful . I enjoyed it from the beginning to the final scene. Robin William was terrific in it . Freddie Highmore is an amazing actor and I love him in the good doctor.
I remember watching this movie on TV whenni was 8. I loved it. I've only been able to find it once since then. I'm so happy to have found this again.
Anybody else get nostalgic and search this up?
Yup I even have this song in my playlist
Love this movie I have watch this movie a zillion time.
I like the moment when Louis realizes that August Rush was his son. And the moment when Augusts real parents showed up together at the end.
This part always gives me goosebumps or cry . What a beautiful movie this is.
That girl is so cute!! And a beautiful voice to go with that cuteness. I just want to hug her. Sigh
