You don't quite seem to get that most of what you list in games isn't Artificial intelligence, it's just simple coding. If X do Y, that is not even remotely AI. Robot enemies can not be compared to having a tool generate your entire video for you.
No no there's two types of ai I talk about. There ai in games to respond to you and there's ai content creation. I tried to distinguish between the two but maybe I didn't do a good job
I think AI could revolutionize the genre. I have tested a few AI related thing in UE5 and in theory it is possible to generate entire zones and entire storylines that keep in mind the main story and automatically evolve the world using it wich imo is sick and will for sure play a role in future immersive experiences. In theory you could already complete a main quest and have an AI see what you did and generate a world building experience surrounding your activities. I do think that MMO's do need to specify more the specific way of use of AI, because indeed the term "Using revolutionary AI" is to wide of a perspective since programming an enemy to shoot you when you come close already counts as an AI

Maybe in 5 years but hopefully its much farther away. AI means spam. In other words we will be overflooded with garbage. It already destroyed the art scene. If i google for an illustration its 90% Ai generated slop.
I see AI in games a bit like the disruption caused by Kindle Unlimited and authors able to go indie and publish books directly to rise or fall on their merit. At the moment a solo dev or hobby dev is climbing up a mountain to make a game that is both good and technically playable. Yes it has been done but by remarkably few. I think AI (in combination with unreal or even newer game engines) will lower the barriers so that more solo and small group devs will be able to make bigger and better games according to their vision. Yes that will give rise to a whole lot of games that are possibly very bad, are scams or that only appeal to a niche player base. It's was like that in publishing from about 2009/2010 for years. The readers soon caught on, saved their money and so will players. But a huge number of indie authors find their 1000 true fans and make a living. I think this will happen to gaming as well. If not on platforms like steam, on other platforms or by selling direct from websites.
I think marketability is always changing, and it's a personal responsibility to adapt. I agree there are positives and negatives to AI that should be discussed, but I do not think losing jobs (while also creating other jobs btw, albeit probably less) is a good enough reason to halt innovative progress.
Innovation shouldn't ever halt; otherwise, you'll have a small group holding the upper hand while the rest just "follow". The answer is ( sadlly [ radical ] ignorants won't ever understand ) to chance the economical system we currently use.

I think AI is just a tool. Whether it's used as revolutionary or a scam depends on the person using it.
