@@WhatsTheHype.Landon I live in Baltimore where 990v3’s are basically the main shoe you’ll see everyone wear. It’s so weird seeing people outside the dmv area wearing new balances with baggy jeans, Khakis, etc because they just can’t rock them lol. They look so much better with skinny jeans/slim straight jeans. Maybe I’m just so used to the styles around here though.
@@Kiiieeechiii it’s interesting how location dictates style like that. New Balances are made in Maine where I live and hardly anyone, but old people wear them
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon I noticed most people who wear them outside the dmv are rocking them with high waters and dad jeans…like bro…those fits are not it
I think it's a trendy shoe but will have another resurgence 15 or so years from now. The 990v3s are the ones that just won't quit imo. And if the 9060s can get some love they be on the next wave
I agree, the 990v3s definitely seem to be a favorite between NB fans/Brand Collabs/and normal buyers. I’m not a huge fan of the 9060’s sole. I can see the potential in that model though, along with the 1906s too
Will proboboy dip somewhat like anything new, but the 550s pretty minimaliat design gives it some longevity i think. Its use isnt too limited so it doesnt force the owner down a certain road so to speak.
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon they've gone in and out of style over the years with "sneakerheads" too. Like from 2012-2015 they were everywhere. The died down a bit but when the dad shoe hit in like 2018, 19 they had a resurgence.
As someone who owned a pair and used it regularly. Its not a daily use shoe, for the price its a bit dissapointing how it degrades over time, expecially compared to other NBs. For example, this is the only pair of shoes where my toes on both sides have broken the leather by weakening the lining with time. Compared to my old pair of stan smiths, they have worn down quicker from daily use in the uk I have recently tried
Now 550s seem to be played out a bit. New Balance has released many general release pairs without stoking the hype with collaborations here and there. I still like the silhouette though
Are 550s a trend or here to stay?
I hope they are hear to stay. But, I hope the hype doesn't make it expensive. The price is perfect!
@@shockafter7 I 100% agree. Interesting that the 2 most hype shoes being 550s and dunks are also some of the most affordable

They’re nice and affordable so I’m glad to see them doing well today
The most popular shoe that you never see people rocking 😅
That’s what I’m saying lol, apparently they’re very popular in some areas I’ve learned in my recent video
I have one pair and i like it more than my dunks
Oh sick, have you always worn new balances?

Yeah I agree that the minimalist design and even colorways will carry this shoe for a while!
New balance has been popular for a long while
It’s been big with sneakerheads, but I’d say the general public only viewed them as old man shoes

Really? Weird. Mine didn’t need any breaking in

They worthy only in premium leather editions like alim diore other than that it’s trash

Not comfy at all...
No leather overpriced junk 20 bucks that's all they worth 🤪
Lol the pairs I’ve had are decent leather
No it’s dead trend

If you only wear what’s trendy, then you’re pathetic
they're still dope, esp those evergreen ones
