I really like your UA-cam videos, and not just the drone videos either. It’s so refreshing and, I might add, pretty unusual not to hear music, ‘What’s up’ etc. I usually stop any video the moment I can’t hear the reviewer. As always, a very informative video. Thank you
Shawn, like always this was a great tutorial. Although I follow your channel for a long time, this is my first comment. In fact: You and your tutorials brought me into flying my Mini 2 the right way from the beginning. From the first time I saw videos on your channel, I liked your voice and the calming, but straight forward way you lead us through your tutorials. This is so rare these days, especially in UA-cam. Before you switched to your "new Life", I always wondered, who is the face behind that voice ? Now we also have a face, we can refer to when watching your videos. Please keep doing videos the way you do. We all in this growing drone community can only benefit from people like you. Thank you.
Shawn, I’ve watched your videos for years. I keep coming back, because of your gift to explain your topics very well. You don’t ramble on and on, but stay focused on each objective.
Excellent video...many thanks...One question, can Eagle or Kite or similar birds damage the DJI Mini 4 Pro ? I am a noobie and have bought this model and just learning from your vids . Thanks
From the camera view screen first press the 3 dots on the top right corner to open the settings menu Go to the first top tab "Safety" Scroll Down to "Update Home Point" A small box will appear in the center of the screen with 2 white rectangular options Aircraft or Controller. Most of the time, pressing "Controller" is the way to go. Especially if you're already flying and you walked away from your start point. Don't press "Aircraft" unless it's currently hovering above a safe landing zone or you really know what you're doing.
Great video!! How i can update return to home if i have function tracking and for example i ride on bike for 1mile and i want back to me not to Point of start?
I’ve used the RTH feature plenty, but I’m trying to find out how to get the green RTH path, and compass to sho on my screen. Perhaps I’ve overlooked it, but so far haven’t figured that out. Hope you can help. Great demo of precision landing.
Nice and informative video @Shawn, I have a question. If you have to pick between Air 3 vs Mini pro 4 which one would you pick. 1) No constraint for money 2) Want more value out of the money 3) Quality of the product (Strength, longitivtiy, software) 4) And will air 3 get active 360 track feature.
You advice us to climb to 7 meters and wait a bit. Which camera//sensor/device records a picture of the landing pad? Doesn't the drone just use ultra sonics for distance measuring?
Indeed, it does but it also uses the cameras to basically take a snapshot of where it’s taking off from. It uses that when landing to try and find the precise landing spot. If you’re using precision landing feature. Otherwise it will just use GPS to get to the general location which is usually fairly accurate as well.
@@AirPhotography A snapshot, straight forward? That would call for a fantastic mathematical precision to calculate horisontal distance that close. Why not angled the camera down and take a real picture? Then we could talk, I think. My guess is that pure GPS is mostly used. The new shadow symbol, used in the Mini 4 pro and the Mavic 3 pro (!), is excellent for aiming. Used it yesterday when strong wind warnings were issued, and landed within less of an inch, using the shadow. Turning off the downward protection precision landings are easy to achieve.
Hi. Great video. If you press and hold rth button on rc2 and accidentally press Land instead of rth, can you take over flying it again or cancel the Land?
Had same question. What about drone is following us and we don't want to return to take off location but to land where controller is then what should we do? @@AirPhotography
Can you please do a video on the gain and expo settings to get smooth cinematic shots? I am struggling with this new m4p. Everything is just so jerky when I am filming. I had some good settings for the m2 and m3p but there were only 4 simple settings to adjust for pitch and yaw. Please do a video for the best setting for smooth cinematic shots.
I needed this Shawn. Still on the mini 2 but I have severe anxiety about losing sight of my drone because I don't trust the RTH. I've been on some epic shoots where my footage is limited because I'm afraid to fly too far out of sight, which I know is ridiculous.. Question, if you're flying somewhere very windy and the drone goes up to the max altitude for RTH, what happens if you start getting the "high wind warning"? Could the drone crash? From a fellow Canook, I enjoy the content! 🇨🇦🍁
These drones can handle some pretty extreme wind, even when you’re getting the wind warning. in extremely powerful when there is that chance that the drone could lose control but that would have to be a very extreme situation. Definitely if it had to come home for that short period of time, it should be OK in most winds
Why sometimes is the Home point on Earth off by a few yards on the Map interface? I notice it happens at random, I guess. I think the GPS of the drones and some maps just don't match that well, Sometimes Spot on. Something to be mindful of.
Another good tutorial Shawn, but one crucial thing you forgot to mention is that if you return to home against a strong head wind you could have major problems as the drone can't legislate for wind speed...
Im new to this so please forgive my ignorance. Are you talking about if the battery died then it would not have enough to get back?, as if not then even if the wind was to blow it of course on route back to the home pad it would surly just keep heading for the co-ordinates of its home pad?
Hello sir, very useful tutorial, thanks a lot. I'm interested in how you set the height at 500m? I have a great desire to fly 500m, so if there is a link or instructions, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
Sorry if I missed this in the video. When you fly in high winds, often a warning message will appear that says RTH is unavailable. What is your experience with this and why does it do that? What would the drone do if you lose connection at that time?
Two things: can you change the settings for RTH in battery depletion mode? For instance, if I have the drone actively tracking me over water, i don’t want it to return to the last updated home point, as that could now be in the water. The other thing is.. how did you do that landing in your hand without the sensors preventing the landing. Bonus question: how did you turn off the drone when it landed in your hand? Thanks! //derek
Lol, well, I appreciate that. I have been told by some viewers that my voice is very relaxing, in fact, one guy commented a while back, that he listens to my videos to fall asleep at night 😂

Definitely replace it. I’ve never had half a prop break in the air so I don’t know what would happen but I’m assuming it would crash or the flight stability would be greatly compromised anyways if that was to happen mid air, just safely try and land it
You must look to the wind, if you have Wind against the Return to home direction, better you Return to home earlier. Look the batterie Capacity you should be at the home point at 15% Battery Capacity.

@@AirPhotography So the Mini 4 pro angles the camera down when setting the home point, to capture the reference for landing?
