  • These are the classical pieces I played during my live stream:
    "Prelude 5" from "12 Preludes" - Manuel María Ponce
    "Chôro da saudade" - Agustín Barrios Mangoré
    "Adagio" from" Concierto de Aranjuez" - Joaquín Rodrigo
    "Capricho árabe" - Francisco Tárrega
    "Preludio saudade" from "La catedral" - Agustín Barrios Mangoré
    All were requests for the exception of Ponce Prelude. Note: I did not play Adagio by Rodrigo in its entirety.

    I hope you forgive me for having a bit of fun with Capricio Arabe, I couldn't resist the temptation.

      Do not ask for forgiveness, classical attitudes towards having fun need to be less elitist and stop thinking that it disrespects the composer - it all sounds all the same if we limit this dimension of human expresson - one's playful enjoyment of a piece, in the moment

    0:39 -> This has to be played again on GSI or Siccas - you have to do this! You have to go classical - as you have strived for in the past, at least to combine certain classical pieces with flamenco nails. En Los Trigales by Rodrigo and this, along with some extempore pieces that you must have at will, such as Capricho Arabe, etc. Grisha. Please! Do a classical program that exemplifies your flameco power and thinking! Thanks from Finland, J

      @@Grisha_Goryachev I agree with LuckyLicks. Your unique sound is so good for classical Spanish music and Latin American music. Please record something classical for GSI.

      Excuse me once again but I'll have to say that this is, only after David Russell, the best Barrios that the world has ever heard, and that you should most definitely use your own sound and instruments to make this music as vibrant and alive as you can. The ear you have is so much what the classical world needs, so don't worry about it! Give it all you have, and please record these wonderful pieces - make them your own and you will see how the world will follow. Classical guitar needs this overlay of flamenco, rhythm and understanding, just as it functions in the piano and violin worlds. We need the singing voice incorporated into the art of combining it with harmony. Thanks!

    First off, I've been following you for about 7 years and love all of your music Grisha. Extremely talented and humble guitarist.
    Secondly, how low is your action when measuring at the twelveth fret? I hear a slight buzz for the bass (desirable I'm sure) but you still maintain wonderfully loud and resonant treble notes. How is this possible?

    • @Grisha_Goryachev
      @Grisha_Goryachev  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for your support! I am not sure what my action is right now, but it is a standard action for DeVoe flamenco guitars. It's the lowest I ever had it, as I always put extra shims to raise for classical tone. On this guitar I enjoy this low setup a lot. Lester DeVoe makes truly fantastic instruments and deserves every bit of his fame.

    Do you usually use the same guitar for both classical and flamenco? Also, why can't I find your recording of Aranjuez anywhere? You can probably play it better than any of today's classical guitarists.

    I've been on about half a dozen Grisha's concerts personally and have known him as an artist since his childhood. Most of what I heard from Grisha is Paco de Lucia level of flamenco, maybe even beyond that sometimes... But, man, is he a magician just in general!!! There is so much emotion in his classical playing, it makes me forget my daily worries and just melt. True genius.
