Keep in mind these are all claims made by Samantha Bennington, Chester left Grey Daze because Sean was so afraid of involving him on the business side of the band, I know you were scared that he was going to leave you, he would’ve never left you if you would’ve included him, that’s the one part you didn’t hear him say behind our bedroom doors. Sean you kept Chester from all business matters the only one that didn’t agree with keeping him out of biz was mace, The way I saw things, Mace had his back. I came home from work and Chester and Pops (his father) we’re off to Sean’s house to get all his equipment and quit the band. I was shocked! I was the last one to know he was leaving Grey Daze! Shortly after Chester quit GD The band got a new female vocalist then they went on the radio with Greg Paul I think that’s his name it’s been so long since I’ve even thought of this person‘s name but he was like the Stryker of Local radio station in Phoenix Arizona. The band did an interview, and Sean went on saying on LIVE radio when he was asked by Greg “so what is it feel like to have a female vocalist?”Sean, proceeded to say” it feels no different we’ve always had a girl singing for us.”. Let me tell you something Sean, Chester and I were in a car driving home from work and he pulled over and we listened to your interview it was very hurtful to him that’s why you weren’t friends with him for years. That’s why you weren’t in our lives or in our marriage for 6 to 7 years.

I know what you mean. The original one sounds hazy and live like a real trip. This one is more dreamy amd melodic. Both are amazing. I personally prefer chester's rawness from the original ones but these remakes are amazing none the less.

The Guitar at 1:05 makes this song so much better. The part where sing "lying on the floor" haunts me cuz i start to imagen how he maybe felt in the last second of his life. This + Morei Sky where he sings "If I had a second chance..." so much regret he maybe had and so much regret we have that we lost such an amazing artist.
You can see the respect and the pain of losing their friend in all of their faces. Excellent video, it got me thinking about the lives Chester influenced. Chester was loved by millions and he was a friend to everyone. no one will ever know what really was going on that day other than it’s one of the darkest days they’ve ever experienced. Grey Daze should have been a helluva lot more popular when they first got together, I would definitely have been listening back then just like I am now

This album is honestly the highlight of my year. It’s bittersweet though. I miss Chester so much. I never got to see him live and I only lived 2 hours from him.
I could believe it could have been him. I'm shit at music, so I'm probably wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's only (pff, "only") about two or three semitones above the scream in "Given Up". He was young then; I find it believable - but still mind-blowing anyway.
So again, for anybody wondering, the high screams aren't Chesters Voice. This was done by "Esjay Jones", she and other Musicians participated in the Songs of the Album. Watch the Interview called "Grey Daze Shouting out hosted by Dave Navarro" to hear some thoughts of all of them!
No it wasn't, it's all chester, it's been done by formant plugin which changes the not the tone or pitch. But makes it sound like it pitches, hard to explain.. :)

Wow, I just can’t believe this. Chester is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, and I loved the original GD records up there with the early LP stuff. They were a big part of why I decided to start a band. I’ve yet to listen to a song off of Amends and actually enjoy it. It’s mind boggling. There’s no substance in the instrumentals, and it’s almost as if a group of GD fans who are also musicians could come together and re-write these songs 10x better than the band themselves did. So glad I still have the original albums.
