I had MH trigger during surgery on my left elbow when I was 16. I was incredibly lucky the anesthesiologist very recently went to a seminar that talked about MH and he got the dantrolene in quickly enough I had no damage to my body.
OH, Dr Rakan! Imagine me, ER work, discovering the Toledo University's orthopedic chairman years ago. Benefit and enjoyment and lots of Learning. I don't blame the chairman when he goes Deep into Surgery, but when he does his diagnostics videos... it is so helpful. And so relaxing when his attention shifts at the time of Christmas and New Year's holiday greetings. AMAZING.
This was a very interesting and helpful video, Im taking physiology at the moment, and now I understand better, what malignant hyperthermia means. I also appreciate all your videos on anatomy, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Hyperthermia, it is a condition when body temperature is elevated beyond normal due to failed thermoregulation. Excessive dry skin is one of the common sign of this. My friend also had this problem but Allopathic medicines shows no good results. He used Ayurvedic remedies of Planet Ayurveda and got very effective results. If you want this Use Chandanadi Vati, Pitta Balance, Giloy Capsules & Amalaki Rasayan of "Planet Ayurveda". It is really very effective and these products are 100% pure and safe.
I had an uncle who nearly died during a heart bypass operation from MH. It was because of this his sisters (my mum) family was tested as i have 8 siblings we are all tested as positive via a muscle biopsy. Now our kids are testing positive too. Ive read that sudden deaths when under physical exertion can cause an episode of MH , eg. Runners etc... its all very interesting and even if your child is too young to be tested they are considered as potential sufferers and treated accordingly when having an operstion.
Thank you, kindly. How would one find indications of such? Surgical report indicating use of Dantrolene? What potential permanent adverse symptoms may one experience?
The triggering factor is not only through inhalation. Exercise is enough to cause death. I lost my 16 year old son that way. In Toronto they have the most advanced department for consultation and genetic testing. My wife did the muscle biopsy and she proved positive. As the muscles mature at 15 years old then the episodes are more frequent.
I'm being studied by doctors to see if there's a connection between Narcolepsy and MH. They say my pituitary dwarfism and big bone disorder and possibly some sort of protein disorder related to my sex addiction and erectile abnormalities might be contributing factors.
@@asim_a_m_alaraby the truth is that this disease is extremely rare, most anesthesiologist with long careers ended up retiring and did not encounter it. It's equivalent to winning the lottery, in a bad horrible way. We have a cure, I know each hospital only needs to stock 1 vial and gets expired on storage.
@@asim_a_m_alarabyalmost always no, the test isn't routine, usually it is extracted on the patient's family history. it is used in research and people with family members that had malignant hyperthermia. Getting a muscle biopsy is invasive. There are coming up with less invasive test, like DNA swabbing.

As a person who has malignant hyperthermia or will suffer from when triggered this video kinda helped me be a little more chill with the disease
Currently studying for my first neurophys exam in grad school. This video helped a lot as much of the literature isn’t very comprehensive. Thank you!
Your videos are wonderful! Thank you for assisting students that need a visual to solidify the material.
EXCELLENT EXPLANATION!!! thank you very much.

mine seems to be caused by stress so exercise as a trigger makes sense.
Thank u sir

Can you please explain uncouplers theory associated with this!
Sustained muscle contraction produce heat, consumes Oxygen thus increasing Carbon dioxide.

Who else has malignant hyperthermia?!?!?!
Shokran.
✨ So its all genetic huh
It may be good but too much of this can turn into Hypothermia
😊😊
👍
Well explained… thanks!
