In school in the 1950's & 1960's, I really enjoyed these films from other places in the US. We would have films about once a week for Geography so we not only knew how to find the states on the map, but also a little bit about the state. I guess these films were purchased or loaned to the different school districts for the kids to learn. I understand now, the schools do not teach geography and kids today cannot find Indiana or Italy on the globe... Kind of sad though, but yet, they know how to type it in the computer easy enough.
I was born in Wilmington the year before this film was made. Great to see Market Street again during its heyday of greatness. I wish it was like that today.
Fun fact: the DuPont company lobbied towards the criminalization of recreational marijuana to bolster sales of nylon rope over it's competition: hemp rope
Real history;"an escaped Black person wasn't free, until they stepped foot north of,Claymont,Delaware and into Pennsylvania,,,even the DoPont family had endentured peoples with an auctioning block and whipping post where present day Hotel DuPont stands today....
