Not sure how I missed this one, but what a lovely way to spend some time fishing. A couple nice catches, but also must say you are the only fishing channel my wife will actually watch with me, she just loves the entertainment you provide and just the way you go about things. Thanks and hope you and the family are having a great weekend!
In other news... I was watching a couple of your videos this morning on my TV so couldn't leave a comment. I just found out that I have some very sad family history in Mathoura. So I started looking for fishing videos in Gulpa Creek. I only found 2, both of which were yours. I watched them both. It looks like there are a few carp in there. I'm planning a road trip over that way to visit my family members in the cemetery one day soon.
@@robbiefishing There are Cod in there, but I would suggest Picnic Point. There is an area just right of the platform, but it gets snaggy towards the bushes and then over next to the playground area, have had good luck in both spots. Sorry to hear you have some sad history over there, but hope a visit brings some closure for you.
@@LarrysFishing Thanks so much Larry. There was closure before it even opened. I only found out about it yesterday. My grandmother's cousins all drowned in the creek along with their mother in a murder suicide. 5 kids and the mother. It was 1944 in Gulpa Creek. My grandmother had never mentioned it to me. She would have been 12 years old at the time, the same age as the oldest of the 5 kids.
@@robbiefishing That is awful news to find out about. Thoughts and prayers with you guys. It might of been years and years ago, but still tough. Take care!!!!
Great work Robbie, Nice looking Cod. I caught one by accident a couple of years ago. The Mrs & I pulled into a Park in our van, had a bite to eat next to the river NSW (Lunch time) Then the boss said why don't you have a bit of a fish. (I couldn't be bothered, I usually fish saltwater. Not fresh) But to keep her quiet I put on a cube of rump steak on a tiny whiting hook with a small sinker & cast in. Wallop! good sized Murray Cod which took me ages to land, I thought the hook would break or pull out. But eventually got it in 2 kg fish took pics & let it go. Beaut.
The misses and I were kayaking/fishing along our local (Barwon river) when she had a brown snake swimming across the river. Lucky we have the water snake electric motors 😅
What a beautiful looking tiger snake i have so much live for snakes ive been seeing a few at my work. Not a bad little cod session done well rhe cod are in great condition this year.
Thanks Pete. I had a power outage here a few days ago. It lasted 5 hours. I used 1 ecoflow to run my fridge and the other 1 to run my computer so that I could keep editing. Haha
Gday rob Very enjoyable mate , few nice fish , peace and quite what more could you ask for 🤔 Ow maybe a tiger snake that's wants to be your new friend lol... Well done mate and thank you.. Hope everyone is in good form 😎🏴🎣
Thanks so much Mike. That tiger snake was a ripper. They are highly venomous and responsible for a lot of fatalities over the years, but what the statistics don't show is the amount of people that encounter them and DON'T get bitten. I hope you're all having a great weekend mate. 👍
I was recently fishing at Winton wetlands a few days after your video and saw my first red belly black about 4 foot long but sadly I didn't catch anything at Winton
Hi Robbie, What a pearla of a vid mate. You put such a lot of effort into bringing us so much enjoyment. Green Ole Mate lures seem to be the ducks nuts for this type of river kayaking ?👍
Geez I miss living in Victoria, spoilt for choices with rivers to fish. Not too many here in WA and no where near where I live. Hope to have a hol with my mate in Oxley this year and drown some worms.
That was an exercise video. Throw in a few push ups one or two stretches toutch your toes put on a headband and bingo a keep fit video you could sell and make a fortune. 😮 You never cease to amaze me. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Rapala makes a minnow called rip and rap and another called countdown. Each come in a host of color combos but I'm thinking you'd do well with the mirror blue over mirror silver. I don't know exactly why but it's in my mind that your cod might fancy the designs and I haven't seen any blue over silver baits in your box. I don't think either lure is expensive so maybe you'll give one of both a go. I'd be interested to see if the cod fancy them. Here in the states most predator species will have a go at them if you select an appropriate size for the species. The countdown is a more slender body while the rip and rap is taller from belly to back. Have a look, see what you think. I don't have cod available but I suspect they would find the Rapalas appealing.
Thanks so much mate. You make a very good point, I have very few blue cod lures. I rarely ever see them. Next time I'm in a tackle store I will have a look for them. Thanks for the heads up. 👍👍
