I miss riding on the Thalys. I live in the Pacific Northwest where there is no high speed rail whatsoever. We need it so bad but every transportation project in North America costs like triple the price of everywhere else. That's why nothing is being built.
USA don't have the railroad system like here in Europe. It would be a trillion costing project to replace the tracks and the infrastructure like ERTMS/ETCS, 25Kv overhead lines etc. And with a idiot of a president in the Whitehouse which want an expensive Wall on the Mexican border, or spending money in NASA airspace bullshit etc. In other words, throwing money for useless things instead of making infrastructure more sustainable, such as electrifying railway lines and converting them into high-speed lines etc. Very a shame, because America is very large and extremely suitable for high-speed lines. America is more a third world country, even China has many high-speed lines, and Russia is building high-speed lines.
Australia is bigger than France. It’s the size of the moon, buddy! Personally I think the Aussies need Elon Musk’s hyper loom transportation system. You’ll be able to travel from Perth to Bondi or Sydney in 5 minutes.

Just London passport control n customs wer e extremely under pressure! We had to show vaccination pass as well. All were a bit flabbergasted! Now on the 21/9 going all by ICE via Munich n Frankfurt to Brussels! Then from there the next day at 10.05 to London St Pancras! Question on U all: according to my railplanner this train no 9119 does not stop at Lille but nonstop all the way to London?!! Is that possible?? Thank U again! Is it difficult to access these locations? I know LGV's are often built in the middle of nowhere, and what with with France being such a large country-by European standards-does it take a while to reach them?
I find it amazing that the French can do high speed trains and safe Nuclear power and America will not embrace either.
Ikr you can blame the auto and oil lobbyists for keeping out of the high speed rail conversation.

@@ZS1736 The Acela is nothing. Its a fast train yes, but the train tracks in the US are poor and not capable for speeds up to 186 mph / 300 km/h.

there are no traction motors here, but all the electrical equipment of the train.
