Piece of trivia. When Queen played the RDS in August 1984 the crowd sang God save the Queen at the end of the concert. Brian May would usually play it at the end of each concert and it is on a Queen album too!
Queen played their first ever Irish show at the RDS Simmonscourt Hall, Dublin in November 1979. Nostalgic fan review here: Concert: Queen live at the RDS Simmons Hall, Dublin, Ireland [22.11.1979] [QueenConcerts]
They were lacklustre as Freddie Mercury said afterwards that it was one of his least favourite gigs ever, there was a bad atmosphere due to several fights at the front, and the band had to stop and restart a couple of tracks due to the violence, so that possibly dampened his and the bands enthusiasm.
Plenty of comedy in Galway last night not ACTUALLY in the festival. Theatre acts : gardas and a few coloured bretheren ( their mates )! Freddy was Tops
Queen were lackluster? Those animals in the crowd were throwing stuff at the stage all through the gig - May got hit by a bottle and intending not to go back on for the encore - an they only played one encore this time. There was a fight at the front of the stage with Freddie threatening to cancel the gig. All that said, I doubt Freddie's wisdom in going on stage wearing a crown in a republican country?
Brutal. I wish I could meet such flesh and blood bogtrotters but I arrived in Ireland in 2006, where I encountered only pansies and some pretty boys. Too late. Where are your Shillelagh, I ask?
0:22 great to see Freddie helping out.
🤣🤣🤣🤣

How to go for a piss?
Queen lackluster? That's gotta be a collector's item!

@@Albert_O_Balsam Thanks, didn't know about that :)
Probably a review written by that vermin Dave Fanning
I was there 😊
The first band was, Fountan head, Bangles, Chris Rea, QUEEN
Funny I was just watching Liz Truss resign, when the Queen song Another one bites the dust came into my head.😂😉😊
Liz who?
1:41 just finished a smoke break…
15 quid for a ticket, about 40 euro in todays money, not bad!
Yeah considering Nirvana tickets for the fated RDS show were €18 about 8 years later!
Nope. About £50 today, hence about €60.
80 thousand fans was bull. Been there 10 times and it was more jammed than any I'd seen.
I was there
The crowd crush there would never happen today lol
Meanwhile...
Lol.. I was there...
Good times
We had black plastic bags on, it passed rain 🌧 🎶

Make VESTS great again.
2:24 See kids? Thats how pro get away with it when they forget the lyrics .
Missed it. Had to feed the hogs. Lucky me.
Does the queen will b king now?
Probably uninspired because Mercury kept having to stop the show because of the audience being idiots
Looks like a typical orientation session for the next batch of altar boys. Don't drop the soap!!🤣🤣
