Astable Multivibrators - Characteristics of an Oscillator

Oh boy, we're starting to that point where we have a whole lecture on an inverter.
In this video, we'll be discussing oscillators, or astable multivibrators. What does it take to build one, what are the characteristics of an oscillator, and how you can modify the circuit to adjust said characteristics.
This feels so corny :P
For further context, this is primarily looking at an oscillator circuit from the perspective of redstone logic.
Electronics engineers, I know this is a vast over simplification, maybe even misleading.
