It's been six years of this today. And I still need to watch this video once in a while. This is what music is supposed to be. A celebration. I was among those crazy Spaniards shouting at the beginning of the video. We were just happy to be there in Dublin. That night was the end of a very long time waiting to see Tom. Our first and very last chance to do so... RIP one of my dearest heroes
This gives me such goosebumps. I was there with a dear friend from Spain, making a dream come true, and I called a common friend in Barcelona on the phone so he could hear it and we could somehow experience it together. He passed away last year, but I'm sure he still listens and smiles.
That's so nice :) I was meant to be at the concert, but had an exam the next day...and knew i wouldn't get up for it, so passed on the concert - something I have always regretted!!!
Thank you for capturing that special moment when Tom showed his surprise at hearing Spanish ole' ole' in Dublin. I was at gig and in no way did the crowd participation distract from performance. A night to remember.
Thanks for sharing. Was at this gig.... best show I was ever at. Just one of those atmospheres all night where it felt a special gig. As the hits came one after another, music and vocals were just superb. You just knew you were watching fantastic artist at work and all so effortless. Tom hadn’t played ireland for 25 years and said he wondered why it took him so long to get back there. I’m glad he did. Just an amazing night. Sadly he’s passed on but his music will live forever as Will the memories of this night.
thanks for the videos.....saw Tom Petter in March 1992 ....amazing concert and sung my head off .... so sorry I missed him in Dublin last week .... legend
I want to see every concert that this guy does, awesome concert and awesome night, thanks to the uploader for these vids, top man. Really enjoyed the night classy performer, will live with me for a long long time xx
That was a lot of work 'eye's! Very cool and so well done. Don't know anyone that don't like Tom! Been around nearly as long as me! Very cool. Thank you!
I was theretoo.. And that moment for me was crazy!! I have done the spanish review for that show.. Your videos are so excellent that I have to put the link to... THanks for me those memories come back again!!
Excellent video EyesOfRust! I saw TPATH when they were last here over 20 years ago I think! They were brilliant then. I missed this one though. Your video is a terrific substitute and really captures the moment, particularly at the beginning of the song, which is mentioned on TP's website! Well done
Have been to many a concert at the now 3 arena, nobody sings and creates a atmosphere like us irish do !!!!.....is tom smoking on stage here near the start of the video ?
Yeh, I feel what you're sayin' there. I think part of it is the time I came up in, I'm 51, so even a funky, raucous show like The Commodores, people were groovin' but typically not singin' along, not always, mind. I'm just gettin' a bit past it I suppose. Take care then.
That's a strange way of looking at it. I can understand being annoyed if you had someone singing/shouting along during a quiet song. Or if it's someone trying to be the centre of attention at a show and ends up just being obnoxious. But when it's a classic like this, I think you can give them a pass. And especially since almost everybody there was singing it.
Well, maybe I'm in the minority, I don't know. As I said, when it's an anthem like song like "Hey Jude" Iam right there singing along too. It just seems now the reality TV syndrome is spilling into concerts as well. One thing is for sure, when I pay top dollar for a ticket to hear an Idol of mine, like Billy Joel, I don't want to hear hundreds around me singing (off key) to Vienna...VIENNA! About at least 1/3 of Billie's concerts have become sing-a-longs...enough already.
Oh, and PS, it was getting SO bad that James Taylor had to make an announcement, saying, " Listen, we know you're just trying to show us your love up here....It can get pretty distracting so if you can just applaud at the end." Right on, James, a price of a seat does not give one the right to insert themselves into the bloody show..." Hey, I sound jest like that rascal in the shower and the car...Think I'll try it out with the band tonight."
Can't believe this was twelve years ago, it was our privilege to be there on that great night.

No I didn't get that. Runnin' Down a Dream will be up within the next few minutes and that's the last one I've got.
Spain won the World Cup, wadda expect!

The look in their faces at 0:25 is just like "WTF is goin on here?!?" :D
We just disagree, mate. As to Tom's audio system, he plays Free Fallin' looking exactly for WHAT? I'm not spoiling for a fight.
theres some new Zoom shit out there that records great at concerts
What phone and settings did you use the quality is fantastic
Capo 1st fret Emaj, A4, Emaj, B(addE). Your welcome.
