About the processing , how do you consider processing the doubles and the harmonies ? What i mean is , do you use like a same fx chain as you worked out for the Lead vox or do you go and create separate tastes for harms and doubles ? Not the reverbs and delays but like compression , eqing for double , saturation etc .
Usually fairly similar with the EQ and compressions, I might take a bit of extra low end or mids out of the doubles/harmonies if it’s getting conflicting. De-ess harmonies and doubles harder than the lead vocal. If I’m looking to add some subtle grit, I’ll saturate the doubles heavier and keep the lead vocal clean.
One of the most valuable videos in UA-cam!
Thanks!
