These lessons are like nothing, like a bit of entertaining fun but wow you learn so much with out even trying, there amazing. Most of the time with online lessons you have to battle with the teachers digressions and assumptions. In short, they are so brilliant you don't even notice it. Thanks so much Blue 🙂👍
The reaction at 10:43 looks genuine and spontaneous (and yes, it mirrored my own reaction), making this feel once again as though we were indeed in the same room. I just love your lessons, and I look forward to continuing with them. Thank you for doing this.
Fantastic lesson for a borderline intermediate player such as myself. It really helped tie together concepts that I've been working on. This is one of those "lightbulb"" lessons. Love it!🎸
Blue, i can't thank you enough! Even though i was already progressing quickly, i felt like i was coming up to a plateau. Then i found your videos! You have opened up so much more for me! I love how you just walked us through this to make complex sounding music, and it wasn't even difficult. Keep 'em coming! 👍 👌
Just found your channel and watched several of your lessons. Mr Blue - you've got awesome Teacher chops! Sure wish you did 1-to-1 online lessons for the rest of us non-Vancouverites!
Thanks very much! Yeah my lessons schedule is very full and I have a waitlist for students here so I prioritize that at least for now 😄 but lots more coming to this channel and our Patreon group.
Awesome lesson as always! I am a huge fan of Add9 chords. I got some inspiration on what i can do with that to make my music intersting. Thank you for the inspiration!
This was a really useful lesson! I often play a maj7 chord in the open position and never really paid attention to the barre chord form. I will find this very helpful in my playing! Thank you! I often do the same with sus4 and sus2 chords. I will try to play these more in the barre chord form too!
I love your lessons. Please can you do a video on C-shape barre chords, and how they fit with A-string landmark rule, and the associated pentatonic shape that fits with this chord type? 🙏
Thank you! Honestly I don't often play C-shape bar chords, at least not the full shape. I do however play just the top four strings of it often. I usually teach that as a triad as in this video ua-cam.com/video/KQGqJnvegeE/v-deo.html
Blue, i have a suggestion for a video. What techniques do you use to remember a guitar solo? I can usual play the whole solo by reading, but when it comes to remembering, i nail the intro, but then lose track for the remainder.
@@scoobydoo4087 good observation. Yes an F chord and a Dm7 are almost the same chord. F is F A C and Dm7 is D F A C. So if you play Dm7 without the D, you have F.
Besides the infamous E7#9 chord AKA the "Hendrix chord" that Jimi used a lot. IMO the most beautiful chord I heard Jimi play numerous times in tunes is the G#m7. But hey, I'm grateful for every chord which has allowed us to listen to all the great music we have in our lifetime. Just think we could of been living in the Ice Age when the only sound you heard was some pissed off caveman banging 2 sticks on a rock cuz he couldn't figure out how to start a fire. Just saying... Blah,ha!! +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Souls+
Blue, another seriously good lesson. Ever thought of starting up your own cult? 😅 Seriously love your vids. Just a combination of things I guess which come together to be so impactful *and* entertaining. Thank you bro
Blue.. You make it look so easy. Lovely smooth playing. Thanks again. Also I asked before but can’t seem to duplicate the tele sound.. used a fender deluxe patch in my spark amp but it is still missing something😢
Hi Dennis, I guess there are all variations of the Deluxe -- especially the speaker will make a difference (or emulated speaker in the case of a patch). But it shouldn't be that far off. Are you using pedals in front of it?
Thank you so much sir! May I ask you how I can integrate this best in a song? What I mean is, do you use this progression for example as an intro or do you sing directly over this progression? Musical greetings :-)
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver Thanks for answering me! It makes a more sentimental, romantic mood, perfect for r&b, jazzy style....like you described👍You are a great teacher!!!!🎸😄
Question, say we do any key chord progression, can we make any of the chords 7 and it will still work in the key? I have wondered that because I like adding the 7 but every time I check which chords are in a key I never see them and wonder how to add them in to add extra flavour or tension… cheers for the vid
@@GuitarLessonsVancouver -- reminded me of "under the bridge" .. can you explain why/how you picked that major pentatonic scale to play over that specific chord progression? thanks 🤘

I really appreciate your presentations. They tend to keep pushing me, gently, to another level. Thanks!

Intro works well. But in general, when you have a I or IV major chord it can be a maj7. And when you have a minor chord you can make it min7.

The I chord can be maj7, the IV chord can be maj7, but the V chord would be 7 (dominant chord).

@@GuitarLessonsVancouver -- reminded me of "under the bridge" .. can you explain why/how you picked that major pentatonic scale to play over that specific chord progression? thanks 🤘
@@AZ-FPV When you have those rich major 7 chords, either major pentatonic or the full major scale would be a good choice.
It's a D chord
Play it slow at first or you’ll just be playing a sped up mess. Damn that’s what I’m guilty of.
That happens. Good advice to play it slow first
