Thank you for your commentary. I've often said one class in high school and college which should be required is Critical Reading/Writing/Thinking. Sadly, most people do not base their views on logic/facts, but on emotion and who has managed to talk fast and use enough emotionally-charged words...
Well stated and said, young, sir. And, I am in favor of limited searches of anyone at anytime anywhere. Don’t gas that is not a true statement. May I suggest a quick listen to on the turning away by Pink Floyd?
I agree we should be able to talk about politics in a calm and civilized manner. The comment about Puerto Rico was vile and as a proud Puerto Rican, I don't (and won't) dismiss it as a bad joke. It was another in a long line of "intentional" derogatory remarks representing a good chunk of the population. The "push back" was not enough...not even close.
Im 59 years old and I would consider myself an old school liberal, but politics and religion are two subjects that I loathe these days. Pick a team red or blue that's not for me I'd rather talk about movies, music, art and literature. ☮️
Louder for the people at the back, front, and sides! This is such a well-considered take, with levity and brevity, spot on. It is very concerning, being in Canada, to see what's happening across the border. We got a taste of it after the 2016 US election, embiggened (yes, from the phrase "embiggened my yikes" - very UK) after Jan. 6 - licence to behave atrociously in every way. Not having mature, measured, informed discussion, taking (mis)information at face value, and the sheer self-entitlement of too many people has certainly brought us to this point. It is truly mind-boggling to see people so adamantly discounting facts and accusing others of being everything they hate, without any self-awareness as to what they will get if a certain wanna-be dictator is re-elected. "In bocca al lupo" - Good luck. Now for a glass of wine and another watch of The Sparks Brothers!
