Today my doughter found study book on machine parts from 1951 after my wife’s grandfather. I went through it with her (I’m a mechanical engineer, it was fun explaining stuff to 5 year old). Not much have changed for over 70 years. Us humans made some advancements in plastics and aluminum. Other than that.. eh. 🙃

The problem I see with this design is the rods flexing and bending under load. Especially the ones that become fully extended. They will collapse and become intertwined with one another as they continue to rotate like a pretzel.

Look at the double bearing Mount plate it would be fine
Most of the time gear drive shafts do not have any weight on them just the bearings and mount plate there is force generated by spin though and resistance but as long as the motor is not too powerful it should not bend the 4 meatal shafts at once although making them larger would allow for larger resistance
A perfect example of “just because you can doesn’t mean you should”.

Absolutely, they in the example, are using springs as tension and a ball joint, powered by a 120v motor driven chain.
Changing the metric makes a huge difference.

No differential = no cornering
More loving parts = more failing parts.
And the fact that there's only one wheel per parallel axle, that would cause lots of tension on the 90⁰ bends and make differential harder to add.

Para qué usar esas especies de " bielas angulares " (que podríamos darles como nombre ) que le quitan resistencia a la s transmisiones , si podemos usar engranajes cónicos ,que tienen una mayor superficie de contacto a través de los dientes , lo que les otorga una gran solidéz y confiabilidad.
la propuesta que hace este inventor , si la podemos aceptar para una feria estudiantil , como una curiosidad, pero sin viabilidad, y ponerle un " siga participando " ( como en los concursos ) ya que se ve un potencial Inventor .

Thank goodness we figured out modern gearing. There’s a reason the differential is still not obsolete after 80 or so years.
Instead of replacing one gear you get 8 different rods you gotta look out for.

Considering most vehicle tires at 60 mph rotate at 600-900 rpm, 7K seems a little unnecessary. But I see what you're getting at, this would never survive in the real world. And on top of that, the tires are rotating in opposite directions 😂

To fix the 2 different directions issue, use a gear to connect the 2 different axels at the front instead of putting a chain around them.

That's brilliant. More surface contact than gears that is also constantly engaged means less surface wear. Tighter fitting components than gears means little to no backlash . It's a great proof of concept and I'd enjoy seeing it progress. Subscribed.

What is the purpose of all this? There is too much friction in this mechanism. Conventional transmission is much more energy efficient.
It doesn't really eliminate torque or friction sadly it actually increases the friction and lowers it's ability to handle torque coming from the transmission I personally am not a car expert but you would really be able to haul anything with this, but it is a cool concept at least
