That first one is awesome....hopefully I’ll remember it when I roll tonight. That is my biggest problem is remembering the steps, I am a white belt 4 months in.

@@ScaredycatG So here I am just over 3 years doing BJJ. Started in August of 2019. Been training probably on average 3 times a week, sometimes less, sometimes more (depending on work schedule). I am now a 2 stripe Blue belt and let me tell you, I am 200% better than I was when I posted that last comment. Techniques stick a lot quicker, escapes work better, I get into better positions easier, I successfully work offense easier. Honestly, I dont know exactly when the change from getting smashed to not getting smashed happened, but I believe it was around the year/year and a half mark. All of a sudden techniques I was learning started to work. Just keep at it and you will be surprised at what you can do and the gains you will make. I am a 48yrs old smaller dude 5'8" 165lb and I still have a hard time with those bigger jacked younger dudes, but I rarely get "smashed" anymore.

@@tinkywinky3680 Nice! You’ve given me a bit of inspiration there…basically keep going and you’ll get there type thing! I’m 40, about the same weight as you, and just a touch taller at 5.10, so I think you know what I’m going through, haha! Well, congrats on the blue belt and the success story 👍

Thank you for this. These are all not “overly complex” and not dependent on just the right scenario that hardly ever happens dependent

I’m going to try that guard escape on Tuesday! I usually just stand and try and break the legs but find higher belts have amazing leg strength. I’m hoping using this will help me get out of the guard a lot easier
