OP08 Garp | Close to greatness!

In this video I'm going over my list of Garp in the 08 format. I love this leader, and garp as a character but he's just not quite there yet. Hopefully we get some new support for him in the future, the leader effect is so fun and you can get some crazy value here and there

Does the leader effect stack with other cost reduction? I.e. if you use tempest kick on a Big Mom to drop it to 7c, can you start using leader effect on it? I'm not sure how to interpret the rules. I feel like it doesn't say original 7 cost or lower or anything like that.

Nvrmind, just watched the video and it does. How do you feel about Issho? If you get it out everything gets in range of leader effect. Not sure how well that plays out though. I'll be trying out this deck since I just pulled AA garp leader haha

Indeed you can, it’s why Im liking stage, it lets you hit 8costs down to 7 reliably for leader effect. I tried issho a bit, he’s definitely not bad, nice that he’s searchable but I was more struggling finding KOs than the reduction so cut him. If you wanted to try 2 copies, would recommend going -1 jack -1 sabo

THE SAUCE was my first deck in 02, played 01 and just borrowed decks as I was unsure about the game but this was so fun so I had to buy into it and been playing since then, keep it up 😄😄🫶🏼

He’s very fun! Red nami being able to search 3c brook and 6c robin (if you play it) is pretty cool. Let me know if you have any success 👊
