Reduced engine power is annoying and I get it all the time My 2003 Suburban LT is a project car right now. But in a pinch. Throw it in neutral, turn the car completely off. You won’t have power steering so don’t freak out. You will still have brakes. Wait 5-10 seconds (longer if you’re comfortable) while rolling and turn it back on and put it in drive. Works every time for me
@bucket7548 What’s the rationale behind adding the wires on the left and right sides after you changed the throttle body, I have done damn near everything besides change the motor for my 2007 Avalanche 5.3L V8 LT 261,365 miles, she runs like a Champ until the 3 warnings Randomly Pop Up which are; Service Stabilitrak, Service Traction Control, Engine Reduced Power, the truck doesn’t want to go past 35mph and that’s pushing it, revving up the engine-likely harming it, and the Truck just doesn’t have any power, I’m in Louisiana we don’t have snow or rugged mountains just crappy roads everywhere, is there something that can be done if the tires were taken off and could bypass these stabilitrak and traction control features, the Engine Reduced Power Function is Triggered by those two control features, any solutions, advice, I done many things. Changed throttle position sensor twice, changed throttle body recently, got it tuned to the RPM that sit at .6 while at idle which I know is not right it supposed to be on the Zero, I do not have the tire pressure sensors anymore so the tire light remains on, new oil change, K&N Filters, New Plugs, Wires, New Morgan Shocks, New Tires, BFG At2, changed mass air flow sensor. Also I seen someone said there’s a scan tool that can turn it off as well, which one is it if you guys know, it’s a lot to ask I guess but I’m up shihtps creek…
You can get a $20 scan tool at walmart, clear the codes and that will remove the reduced power mode temporarily. In my case it cleared the codes until i got where i was going every time.
I uploaded a video prior where i mistakenly said he changed the alternator. I changed the alternator recently. Theres been a lot of things worked on since i bought it. But the mechanic changed the throttle body and added the ground wires. I think the reduced power mode all started because i changed the throttle body when i bought it not knowing how delicate these tahoes are with that part.
There are two in back that you can't get to unless you have x-ray vision and small hands. Otherwise you have to remove the intake. Tbh easier to run the ones he did.
GM shysters with that ecm if everything is not right it will go into full panic mode.aka limp mode. Most other brands itll just not give you the best throttle response but at least its at least driveable and dont have to sit along the highway. There are probably 15 different things that can cause this. Even a dirty throttlebody or air filter will make a rich or lean condition. The ecm will pick this up and throw it into that dreaded panic mode.
I have tried everything and gave up. It happens randomly (100-150miles) but usually right after it rains. I just keep a scan tool handy and reset it. Then all is good for a while. It sucks when it happens at a red light.
@@Ace-44I previously (about 2yrs ago) took it to a Chevy stealership and they said it needed to be programmed. They charged me about $120 and the issue happened again after a week. I don't really mind when it happens during the times I'm alone but I do worry when my kids are in my truck.

So basically it was a ground's?
I'm going to add those ground and see if anything changes ...thanks
They change my foot pedal sensor.

Get your carburetor clean that’s what it is. It’s old gas.

Carbon build up
All it was is a bad ground. He got you on the trottle body
Possibly but it kept having a code for the throttle body and the previous mechanic couldnt figure it out. So far its still good up until now.

I have the same problem, I found if you wiggle the wire harness going into the throttle body it goes away, for awhile.
Check ground wires for all sensor need to be clean my problem was the sensor. I change foot pedal sensor and ot works
