- First shot review on my just received MarColMar Cetme L. If this video goes well I will do further videos including accuracy/disassembly. I'm not an expert by any stretch on the Cetme L and this video is my opinion based on my limited history with this amazing rifle.
Update. Fired a few more magazines out of it yesterday, no malfunctions. Another owner mentioned his/hers did the same for the first magazine or two and then worked great. MarColMar responded saying they do have a slight breaking in period.
The Mosin Crate I hope I can eventually say the same for mine. It won’t fire more than 5rds before jamming. Tried different flavors of ammo and different magazines, no change. Very discouraging at the moment
@@producedrabbit1 I'd try shooting at least 200rd out of it. Then contact marcolmar. They have a break in period.
Good looking beast! Had trouble deciding between the HMG and Marcolmar. Not much of a reason, but I went with the Marcolmar because of the flared hood at the rear of the ejection port. It's not present on the HMG, and I shoot left handed. Most owners are reporting a break-in period on these rifles that lasts fewer than 20 rounds.
The questions about Cetme L mags is they are Stanag mags which functionally lack the bolt hold open follower which can be easily swapped out for a follower that does activate the bolt hold open. They do slightly vary in dimensions where most will fit in an AR but a few are a little tight. Most is due to the mag catch cutout and can be filed to fit better. I hope this helps (I have cases of these mags).
This looks good, the overall built quality looks promising. I can't wait to get my!
You mean you can't to see when it starts falling apart!
My L just arrived from MarColMar. The build quality is first class. The first 200 rounds were 5.56 Nato SS109, NO MALFUNCTIONS. Mfg says P-mags won't work but I have several P-mags that have done some minor mods to and they work perfectly. I installed an RDS with a magnified flip up and could get 90% hits at 300M on IDPA classic cardboard targets. Groups were minute of bad guy. The only negatives are 1. Awful trigger, heavy and long travel. 2. Difficult to clean chamber and roller indents. The trigger issue is solved by sending the trigger pack to Bill Springfield in Colorado Springs. I am still working on a tool to clean the chamber and roller indents.
It is a beauty, that brass deflector is interesting. Thanks for sharing!👍🏼
its actually a sand cut, which also serves as a brass deflector, this is because the FAL was tested in Egypt, and germany wanted the design, so they bombed the FN factory and stole everything that wasn't bolted down, so they made their own version of the FAL, so thats why they look kinda similar
Put about 6 different mags through mine with cheap steal case ammo, not a single issue. Original Cetme Mags fit very tight, but standard Stanag mags work fine, and even drop free sometimes. Incredibly gun gun to shoot! The recoil impulse is definitely different than an AR, more of a sluggish rocking compared to the snappier AR
Fit and finish looks great! I have one of the HMG builds from Copper. Glad mine has the original furniture on it. Not a fan of the new furniture but it is what it is. Cool gun!
Marcolmar went through a lot to make the furniture as close as humanly possible. You just concerned about the color?
I just bought one yesterday, it came in a nice zippered case.
Been thinking about getting one. Buy or pass? Saw a version of the Galil too about the same price
i think PTR (im assuming they made the barrels for these too) stated a breakin period of 100 rounds, so just over 3 mags. on the one i built i found it was about that too.
Mine is supposed to ship here in February, even bought a few Cetme L mags to go with it. Hoping mine only has the few small issues that yours did, overall its a great looking rifle, can't wait to shoot mine!
Pretty interesting. We’ve been planning on building a kit.
I didn’t know these existed from this company.
Regards,
Marky
I don’t shoot steelcase ammo in AR style rifles, but will shoot it in Galil and maybe the CeTME L when I get it off layaway Galil’s have stronger extractor and in 2020-2021 ammo is $$$ and harder to find
As a spanish Marine in 1990 this was my weapon and it was crap! Overheating and corrosion issues! The old CETME C was much better! Nice looking weapon though
¿spanish marines?..noooo...INFANTERIA DE MARINA SIIIIIII
@@solohans4828 Lo tuyo es de nacimiento o de algún golpe que te diste en la cabeza?
I've got 2 Cetme's that I love, always wanted one of these to, how much in this configuration, do you think it needed a break in or maybe lube, or bad ammo.
Rifle seemed to be sufficiently lubricated out of the box. Doubt it was the ammo. First magazine lots of malfunctions, second just a couple, after that none at all. Seems to be a 2-3 magazine break in if I had to guess. Will know more when we get a chance to put more down range. I believe it was $1295 but I preordered a while back. Marcolmar has them for sale on their site.
@@TheMosinCrate thx Bro. Gonna ck them out
Does the manual recommend that you load the rifle by locking the bolt back, inserting a fresh mag, and then hitting the bolt release? Or does it say it's ok to load simply by inserting a fresh mag and pulling the bolt back to the rest and releasing it? I'm wondering if loading the weapon without locking the bolt back is partly to blame for some of the malfunctions (I don't know this, just wondering).
MarColMar said to expect a break in period. I have fired another 90rd out of the rifle with 0 malfunctions.
I don't know how I missed this. A year late to the pah-ty. In comparing the HMG & Marcolmar, the current $999 biased me to the HMG.
After their STG-44 debacle, I'd never give that company a dime. /my personal opinion.
@@TheMosinCrateWith certainly, HMG failed with customers all the way around other than returning money. medium.com/@tanieltwoshot/what-really-happened-to-the-hill-mac-gunworks-sturmgewehr-9d1074cac75e
the CETME I want is the Ameli
Don't know why AR mag HK 93s are more popular like the MAD 33AR. They are much more reliable then the CETME L and take all STANAGs variations.
They were designed for hotter NATO rounds. If yours will fire regular 223 consider that a big bonus
the plastic is bakelita" in spanish type of plastic porcelain used to be regular weapon of the spanish army navy and air men i used it till it got decomissiones by the g36
u need ti change the needdle u can find a better one in after markec it tends to bend after heavy work by heat if ut shoot 30 mags or more machine gun position trigger all marines used to change it if in op unit u need to try the sub-riffle and the long range shooter version L V on average used to be good
u also can hamer it banging the rear to the floor very usefull in combat in case of quick need
hemer = load the hamer head ready to shoot
Cetme’s look so sexy. Now I need to talk my wife into letting me get one lol
First what is that STG? And to the STG44 from HMG, was that a total scam or just a failure to launch due to biting off more than they could chew? anyway these look nice but the function it looks like use will correct that.
I suspect it was more than they could chew. I have been following it since InRange TV did there video's late in 2015. Now saying it will be out this first quarter of 2019.
They have been saying this quarter or that quarter for 4 years now. They dropped off the face of the Earth in terms of updates a while back and someone posted about Mac having some issues on their Facebook.
@@ajones1825 I have been looking and digging and it looks like they might actually start to ship in the next 4 to 6 months. I hope so, I do want to have one
@@rcairnut run away, don't walk. My personal opinion as someone who was on the preorder list years back before getting told repeatedly it'd ship out in 2 weeks more than half a dozen times.. If you want an STG44, save up your funds and grab one of the PTR44s, they may need a little work but at least you'll have as close to the real thing as you can get without spending $50,000 or like Keith(no offense buddy) chasing the rabbit down its hole supporting an all but dead project.. Again this is my personal non business opinion.
@@TheMosinCrate thank you for the advice, I may just look at the PTR44
ese fusil lo utilicé hace 20 años en la brigada paracaidista y era una puta mierda me da la sensacion que no a cambiado mucho a pesar de las mejoras de la empresa americana
Very nice looking.
I shoot steel case more than brass and have no malfunctions...
Don’t shoot Lacquer coated ammunition. The lacquer will fill in the flutes cut into the chamber
pero que hizo España con el C.etme y con todo lo bueno que se hizo ..en fin
Chris from SmallArmsSolutions said the military rifles were plagued with problems. Time with tell if these actually hold up.
problems mostly stemmed from bad QC and corner cutting from the Spanish factories. rebuilds should be fine
Link for where to buy one?
Hey Matt! Atlantic Firearms is advertising them In Stock for $1299.00.
Does anyone read instructions? Not the proper ammunition for this rifle. It needs hotter ammo!
Yes I rad instructions. And you would be wrong, these have a break in period, per the maker. As stated after 3 magazines all malfunctions ceased.
Cetme L is the worst of all CETME's They were made with different steel sheet on each side combing like a banana after few shots due the heat (on military service never been capable to fire a 20 rd mag in full auto)
If it can eat steel then its a keeper.
1:25 HAHAHAHAHA
Why so damn expensive?
Jeffery Price I missed the price what was it?
@@johndenham9999 I went to the website, it was 2 grand there
Price was $1295 on the MarColMar website?
