@@BradVicious there isn’t schooling or any way of finding out if you haven’t opened it before and using a video is just the same as asking a person separately for help or how it opens? It’s not a trade in college so much of this job is learning hands on and over time you can’t just study a course on repairs sadly it’s just not a thing.

Hi, thank you for your video! My battery is actually still great but I have a sensor problem. The phone says "problem reading battery sensor". I read another comment that this problem will get fixed by replacing the battery. But would it also possible to only change the sensor? Because my battery easily lasts 2 days (before I got this problem with the battery sensor). Thanks for the info!
Have you try to clear the cache? Battery cache?
@@DIYGeardo I've got the same issue, apparently a common issue with the 4xl. How do you clear the battery cache?
The screws on my 4xl are very tiny torx screws. The torx size is T3.

Opps? Followed your process, very clear and simple but unfortunately now only the front (selfie)camera is working, I've double checked that I have reconnected the back cover plug and it seems to be firmly in place. The torch function is also now 'unavailable' as it says that the camera is using it? Have you any ideas? The rest of the phone is now back fully functioning perfectly.

So all the competing phone makers shaked hand behind the scenes and agreed to make batteries non-removable.

My pixel 4xl just stopped working last week, it was fine during the day then at night it was black screen and wouldn't turn on. Do you think it's the battery? I'm tempted to try replacing it because I'm a tight arse haha

also, it can be the motherboard too. WHich will cost you a lot.SO try to go as cheap as possible to figure out the issue.
Did you miss the 2nd screw for the camera connector?
Actually one screw is missing from our device..i am referring to that..
@@DIYGeardo I lost one of the same screws; the opposite one. I'm not sure how. I picked it up and lowered it down and then it vanished. not in the phone, or on my table. and I swept the floor.

Did you delete battery cache?
Not sure what battery timing is. But replacing the battery fixes the issue

OMG that battery connector is a pain..you are not simply lying the connector from the battery into the connector there is actually a physical plug, very hard to see. push the connector down you'll feel it grab make sure you hold that cover piece in place or it will unplug itself. Put the teensiest screw on top back in first, then the one on the other side and last the two larger ones. If that connector is not plugged in right you'll get the flashing battery so if you got that likely it isn't properly plugged in at the connector my replacement battery came with half charge making sure it charges all the way up before I close up the back. There are some larger than oem batteries available for same price as the original equipment shop carefully.
A heat gun and metal tools on a lithium battery? Cmon now you can’t be really doing that are you, you could use a heat mat again and a thick card rather than a metal pick.
Thanks for sharing your concerns. Well if the battery is now swollen you can use a heat gun gently. Metal pry I would say fine as long as you know how to use it. Main thing is patience. But do not use the heat gun if the battery is swollen.
After replacing the battery, everything seems good except the new battery won't charge. It is not the charger or the connection. Any idea why this is? Did I get a dud battery?
Probably a bad battery, try with another one
That teensy battery connector has to be pressed down and you have to hold the cover plate as you screw it down or it could disconnect itself this is what happened to me the first time. YOu can feel when the connector seats it won't shift. Put the teeney weeney screw on top in first then the other side do the big screws on the bottom last. Hold the bits with your fingers till the screws are in.
Heat to loosen the glue? That is already a bad design. It should be easier. Practically, they want you to change the phone if the battery is bad? That is a Scam

@@trentc6069 yeah, blowing concentrated heat directly at a lithium ion battery doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Never repaired a phone idk
