IMPORTANT: When I recorded this video I had not seen Volcanicus Enigma. It works exactly the same as the Enigma I showed you (5 Dinobots in bot mode on field or KO area) still has a green Icon BUT it gives Volcanicus BOLD 2 when you play it :) I explained in the video how BOLD can help. This helps more :)

Keep a Sludge from wave 1 near you and try to get in your KO area before you summon Volcanicus. Then bring it into play with I still function when you've summoned Volcanicus and remove all it's damage counters. GG.
@@firayaQ7 There's nothing stopping you from playing both versions of Sludge, though. As I said, you keep Wave 1 Sludge in your KO area until Volcanicus comes into play, and THEN resurrect it with I still Function, to heall ALL damage from Volcanicus.
@@matthewfarrell317 My main worry for it is that Grimlock would have to attack 3 times instead of 2. And that Grimlock will be the number one target if you play this combiner.
@@Dynoboot That is where I see the balance is, do you risk Grimlock to get the double Sludge, as a KO of Grimlock between the 3 attacks needed would pretty much end the ability to play that combo.
I know there's no organized play yet, so we don't know how tournament formats work, but would the out-of-play characters count as part of your deck? Would you be allowed to swap which ones you start with between ganes?
It's going to be hard to combine, but I think you are right about "I Still Function" being an important part of this deck. There is a less obvious line of play and that is to use Grimlock to bring the original Sludge to your K.O. zone to later I.S.F. and soak all the damage off Vulcanicus. Yikes!!!
So I've been thinking, it may be possible to break the game even further by playing Volcanicus Grimlock alongside 16 Stars of non-Dinobots, use his ability to put the other Dinobots into the KO area and then summon Volcanicus (with at best 14 Health) whilst retaining the other survivors of those extra 16 Stars!!!
Question wossy. The rules says that you can only start your team at 25 points. If you use grimlock ability bring in a ko dinobot. Next turn use I still function on that dinobot. Does it work? Because you started the game with 25 points. Now you are over if none of your starting team gets knocked out?
Just look at Metroplex, he is 25 star, when you bring one of his underlings out, the total is now above 25. Card abilities overwrite the 25 limit. Also, you can only start the game with 25, so anything after is fair game as long as the cards say you can.

Unless I added up Wave 1 wrong, it amuses me that the Dinobots only had to lose a single star in the process of gaining Volcanicus; I figured it's be... well, 15. No wonder they're all Rares. Now the only one to wonder about is Devastator (a 6-piecer).
Im trying to wrap my head around all this.... He is insane! Once you combine him he becomes 39! How does that not immediately break the rules?! And they are rare?! As if it isn't hard enough as it is to get wave 1 grimlock! Now i gotta do that for 5 more!? Wow.... Just.... Wow....

You get 1 damage for each orange Icon you flip anyway. On every turn. That's how attacks work normally so an ability that does this when it happens anyway makes no sense what so ever. Not unless it's plus two or more for each orange you flip. Plus 1 is just what your going to do normally anyway so it might as well not have text there at all.
I like the fact that you're keeping the content up to date and cover spoilers as they release. A small comment; I find the energy on this channel too overwhelming. It feels like the narrator is bipolar and is on the happy cycle. I am not saying it as a bad thing or even something to improve upon, it's just how the narration makes me feel, I am sure a lot of people enjoy the overhyped, excited narration to brighten up their routine days. Also it is Volcanicus not Volcanious. Not that it matters :D

This can be abused to much with sludge and I still function since the new grimlock does not say once per game

I can see this strategy play out, would be powerful if someone manages to pull it off, would be tough tho.
The enigma states FIVE dinobots to combine into Volcanicus. Adding wave 1 sludge should block Volcanicus from being formed

In my first box I opened, I got Grimlock,swoop and snarl. Then in my second box I got Blitzwing, snarl, and 2x skywarp

Plan 2 would be a good way to lower your hand size to lower than your opponent's

Wait, if you can bring Dino's to the KO area, can't you play base set Dinobots AND Volcanicus. I see some broken decks in the future if this is true.
