Kush & Bloodfiyah Angels - Libérez Mumia (Officielle) - 2007

This is a song from the time I sang with the Bloodfiyah Angels roots band. A person involved in the Free Mumia Abu-Jamal movement approached me to write a song about Mumia in French so the message could go beyond the United States. In 2007 we shot this music video produced by German cinematographer David Reimer. There is a cameo appearance from Jamaican singer Lloyd Hemmings (Carrying the Rasta flag).
Mumia Abu Jamal, a former Black Panther activist and Philadelphia journalist was accused of killing a cop in the early 80's and was convicted of murder despite lack of sufficient evidence and the fact that some of the witnesses recanted their original statements. He remains in jail to this day and an international movement is very pro-active in asking for his release from prison. Click SUBSCRIBE to stay tuned.
