In fairness, Iceland, like League of Ireland, are currently well into their football season season so, in that sense, have an advantage on the NI teams in that their fitness levels are superior, plus a lot of cash has been pumped into developing the game in Iceland in last twenty years. No doubt if Irish league moves to summer football results can improve in europe like they have in the south. That said, rovers and shelbourne only scraped through against Icelandic and Gibraltar opposition. Game on both sides of border needs investment and a serious plan to develope the leagues.

I was there as an Englishman, it was rough at the end with that weather leaving. I felt for the Linfield fans, they saw their team come all the way back then mess it up at the end.

@@robbysfootyfocus Especially given they get a fair chunk of UEFA money just for qualifying. What were the club's board doing with it? Plus that rain when leaving was awful as well.
