Even though I was 4 years old, I was so amazed with all of the sparkling lights and the way that the individual figures would move in sync with the music too! Wow!!
Wynton stayton thanks for this clip I love watching old parades cause I only went to disneyland paris in Oct 2019 only that time was actually the first time I'd been abroad so thank you
"Ladies And Gentlemen! Tonight, the Orange Bowl honors the most unique event staged in America in 1977! Disneyland and Walt Disney World's incredible spectacular of nighttime pageantry and imagination! In electrical sights and sounds, The Main Street Electrical Parade!"
Did you know that the tune used for the "Alice in Wonderland" segment was actually a synthesized version of "In the Golden Afternoon"? And there was a rather forgotten "Its a Small World" Float, too? I saw this during a behind the scenes video about the electrical parade.
Sandra Blamires Actually, it's electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. This was right before Jack Wagner coined the word and used it in the announcement. The announcer is the same one who does the vocoder announcement as we know it in the parade.
TBH if I saw this at the Super Bowl I would be disappointed. You payed probably thousands or hundreds of dollars to go then see someone you could see at Disneyland for way less and better.
Average Fanboy 1128 That’s a fair point. I would guess that tickets to these events were a lot less at that time than they are now, and the landscape of entertainment was a lot different for halftime shows back then. Nowadays, the only place you would see such an elaborate production from Disney at an annual public event like this would be The Tournament of Roses Parade.
I saw this on New Year's Night 1978!
Richard Clifford That must have been a sight to see in person.
GOD bless you, Wynton Stayton !!! This is a gleeful childhood memory which you've nudged open; i'm grateful!
Peace be with you...Lukerdog
This is where the opening and closing fanfare for the greatest parade to ever go down main street was made!
I remember it...was 8 yrs old
Wow, the way things look in that parade had changed a bit. That's amazing how we can look back at how the costumes and lights used to be!
the best hafttime show ever
Even though I was 4 years old, I was so amazed with all of the sparkling lights and the way that the individual figures would move in sync with the music too!
Wow!!
That brings back good memories. Thanks for posting. I remember seeing that Live on TV.
No problem! Glad you enjoyed! :-)
I grew up in Miami...I was 8 at the time, this was a big deal
I’m surprise this year’s Orange Bowl in 2021 didn’t have the halftime show
This is beautiful thanks for posting this 😊
Chibi Sting You're welcome.

Happy 100th Anniversary, Disney!
Chespirito y el Chapulín colorado
This is the most unique variant of the Main Street Electrical Parade I've ever seen! So unusual to see it in a completely different format.
10:28 BLESS YOU
They should do this again

Traveling Around Thanks!
Im Wondering how they got the floats into the stadium as most have tunnel entrances at both ends??
Ben Loudermilk That’s a good question.
@@Littlescienceguy The orange bowl had an open end on the east side that allowed for easy road to field access.
@@butterbook Thanks for sharing!

Disney also did a daytime version of this show for another Orange Bowl
Link?
Wynton are you excited for it to finaly come home?
jeremy sharp Absolutely!
I’m wondering what’s under those flowers at the beginning.
The opening scene makes me think if the PAC Man maze and all the power dots are escaping from PAC Man.
Jennifer Garcia That's a great observation.
Jennifer Garcia yeah it does look like PAC-MAN.
Those are actually light flowers
Jennifer Garcia That's because of the low quality.
fans up front, this looks awesome, fans up top, what the Hell are those lights??
🤣
It's actually electro- synthetic musical sounds!! Come on announcer!!!

+Wynton Stayton didn't get to see the orange bowl in 1978 because I was not even born when they showed Main Street electrical parade you know that
+Wynton Stayton Yes. They even have a teaser trailer the was first shown on the 60th anniversery special for Disneyland
Michael Harrington yeah I saw it and I love it
Daddy pig can’t get the keys back, that drain is realllly deep
HUH ? How come no Disney vloggers have picked up on this FACT! ? The whole parade went through a football stadium? What the what! ?
I know it's elctro-sythmeic musical sounds . Did I get the phrase right that time?????
Sandra Blamires LOL! Try it again. 😂
electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds
AAAA
Ok
