I agree with u this is probably the best English cover for spiral and it feels different because the original has this upbeat feeling while listening but this feels calmer and i really like since this song is about wanting to restart but ultimately did not give up and keep going forward.

That's like the best English cover and translation of this song I heard. Most covers I listened to had a high pitched voice or some sort of screaming in the lyrics but you sound calm here and I love it. Not to mention your voice fits the song very well. I love it!

That's best english effort I've heard yet. The translation flowed and harmonized well with the music, while the intent still managed to carry through. The use of the Japanese "sayonara" was a great nod to the original's English use of "Oh my life". The fact it was sang in a duet was on point. The singing was a great effort, and I hate to be critical here, but the two could have harmonized better with each other, sometimes the timing was off, and the male talent didn't always hold up his end, and often the emotions seemed a bit flat for both (more like they were singing karaoke off a screen, than that they really owned the music from their heart), and the lyrics seemed a little too background to the music. Over all 4 stars! Would love to see this rerecorded, where the singing critiques were addressed (it would hit like a sludge hammer then), but I very much appreciate the effort that was made to get it this far!

watching the newest episode curiosity over whelmed me to find the opening in english. this is the fourth video ive watched and the 4th different translation i've seen.....
this one does seem to be the best (knowing absolutely no japenese) considering the lyrics and what story has aired up to now

Other creators are probably doing direct translations of the Japanese words, which often don't translate well to English. So I try to sculpt my lyrics so that they have a connection with what is happening or has happened in the show, whilst still retaining the original meaning of each line of the original lyrics.

I love the lyric “ this time I won’t have to restart” so much! I can’t tell you how many times I’d have a good thing going, I have a lot of friends and I’m social. Suddenly my depression hits and I shrink away and when it goes away I feel like I’m back at square 1 and I have to relearn how to socialize (I’m autistic so a lot of things don’t come naturally). But now Im on meds for my depression, I have an awesome career as a dancer and lots of friends! For the first time in my life I’m not afraid of having to restart it all and start from square 1!

Something i love about this song is that the lyrics are tailor made to whoever listens to them. Ive heard the japanese original, the english version longman made, a spanish cover and this english cover and although lyrics are similar all 4 convey different emotions and messages based on your experiences
The original lyrics are quite vague and do leave a lot open to interpretation, so its no surprise that everyone's renditions are wildly different.
I tried to connect mine as much to the show as I could.

Why is the translation here different
Because if you sing the translation directly as it is, it won't fit and it'll sound awful
Sounds monotoned compared to Japanese. Singing with emotion is something they mastered long ago.
