Where did you grow up? I also loved to eat honeysuckles as a kid!! The cherry blossoms are also reminding me of my childhood. Love it

Advice from a DC professional:
1. Unlike NYC, DC is all about relationships, not competition.
2. Dress professionally, not to compete with other women. Think French, e.g., slacks, jackets, simple tops and silk scarves.
3. Don't be a Princess. Drop the fancy nail treatments; they're for administrative assistants. Present yourself as a modern, working professional woman, not a clothes horse with a job.
4. Specialize in the UN; nobody in DC understands it. That's your lane. Get comfortable on the Jet bus. Keep a bag packed. Keep up the French. Jump at the first chance to interface with the EU.
5. Keep up the weight workouts, but do them aerobically. Walking on a treadmill is not a workout. Neither is stretching.
6. Read non-fiction from political leaders you admire.
7. In the Fall, enroll in a nights/weekends PhD program, the kind for working professionals.

@@Katya-oo1kb I don’t know exactly what field she is in. I only know the environment in which she works. What’s important are the letters. There are lots of ‘public policy’ advanced degrees for her general type of work. They’re specifically designed for people who already have jobs. Get a Masters degree in your area of interest and a nights/weekends PhD when you get a job.
