Hope the family and Your self are doing well. Cheers Mate from Minnesota.
Mike brilliant, little piece of work for such a small layout. Can't wait to see You're next video. Bruce in Minnesota
Thanks Bruce, all the best to Minnesota
Hurrah!
Thank-you!
Very best wishes to you all.
Thanks John and you
It's looking very good. Fences and everything! A lovely little world. 😊
Thanks, it's coming along
I can't wait to see the shunting video!
Looking Good - that platform is brill and I’ll be using that 👍🏻 The 0-4-0 engines are very versatile, I run a pair of Holdens as a Double header ( one without the Motor) and it looks great Thanks for posting 🙏🏻🥇👌🏻
Well done - not overdone..simplistic and easy on the eye....like the simple loco and trucks....
Thanks, sometimes simple is best, so many people over complicate model Railways
This would definitely be a sight if you could take it to an exhibition!
I'm toying with the idea , but it's perm fixed to the shed lol
Love It! I blame you for the fact that I am now collecting Hornby 0-4-0's. Last time I counted I had over 30!.
Despite my comments I've just bought another!
Great work. You are right about some of the big card models from the likes of Metcalfe being too overpowering on a small layout. A compact layout needs compact buildings or things just do not look right. Same with the trains themselves.
I use insulfrog points - second hand ones off eBay at that - and Smokey Joe doesn't stall on them.
Looking great now guys well done 🏴 enjoy your channel
Thanks Brian
Attention do small detail makes this fantastic...
Thanks
Lovely little Class 101!!
Love seeing the layout come to life, it’s amazing how much you can fit into a small space.
Thanks
Lovely little layout there! I love how you have put it together in a shed, with a limited budget! That's the sort of thing I am currently doing, so it's great to get inspiration from you!
It would be great to see some of the work that you do as you are doing it too! 😀👍
Thanks. A lot of it is repeats of previous work on other layouts so there will be how to videos in our other videos, hope that helps
Great layout, just goes to show that you don’t have to have a large space or spend a lot to get a decent layout. Andrew
Nice update of Railroad. TO EVERYONE WATCHING THIS VIDEO AND READING THIS.I PRAY YOU RECEIVE THE BEST LIFE HAS TO OFFER YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. CHEERS FROM OVER SEAS UNITED STATES 🇺🇸
English art of layout modelling in a nutshell : small, elegant, simple, very pretty overall (even if not complete as you said before), and able to give you lots of fun. Your layout is a nice example of this school of thought, thanks a lot for the videos.
By the qay, if you are looking for your glasses, you put them under the signal box... I know, I have the same kind of problem !
Hi , very kind comments thanks. I gave five pairs of glasses but still can't find a pair lol
Loads done, and looking really well....don’t forget the fiddle yard.....can’t wait to see what you make of it!🚂🚂🚂
Looks great. The platform came out quite nice. The addition on the front with the fence was a brilliant idea. Scenic and functional. Cheers and stay safe.
Thanks and you
Well, that station really has come together brilliantly! 😃 The platforms are very nicely done and I agree about those buildings being right for the scene without over-dominating it 🤔 The greenery and scenery has been well executed as ever, and I am glad you inserted that fence! 😜
And as usual, it’s great fun to see you create great things on such limited resources 👏
Thanks as ever, cheers mate 👍🍻🍀
Thanks Tim, the comments and encouragement are appreciated
Hi Mike.
You don't need to erect trees to hide that gap. Just construct a canal on top of a length of baton and slide it down there. It would be easy to remove if you need to access the wiring. It would also give you a water feature and an excuse to display a few boats or barges. 👍
Hello,it's so much better that parts are being added to the layout.bulidings fence etc.certain engines run better than others .
Kool layout as well 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍nice❤️🚂
Nice one, thanks for sharing.
Looking great! When you reach a certain point of indecision or frustration, it does help to just watch running trains.
So true
Looking better every visit, you are a fast worker i could spend ages on this just faffing about!!
I have a short attention span so tend to wait till I get inspiration and then get lots done in a big burst, hyper active
Looks great 👍🏻 keep up the good work🚂
Thanks very kind
great video.yes the 0-4-0s are great as stated before have a Caledonian Pug and Bagnall diesel, just great, the price of new locos is just silly now.
Yes, at least the 0-4-0s are still ok, all be it with a 25% price rise over three years
Great progress, as well as solutions to your wiring failure and frayed edges! I still use Dapol and some Airfix figures where I can - I think they're under-rated. I think I got the idea from Kathy Millatt but putting a wash over them brings out the details a treat. Cheers
Thanks, I use black wash and dry brush, having painted wargames figures for many years I am ok at figures.
Looks superb ,it shows even in a small place you can capture a busy railway feel ,really nice and runs well that’s the main thing .
Very kind thanks. The smooth running is the main benefit of using ballast mat
Nice to see how the layouts going, I was actually multitasking watching this whilst working on my new little layout (No wonder the carpet´s covered in polystyrene!)
What a stunning little layout, absolutely full of interest and movement. Given the inspirational effort you've made on the layout, I can't wait to see what your imagination produces for the village scene! Just love your videos😎
Very kind Richard, thanks
Mike, it looka a million dollars, my little layout is going together giving me hours of fun, my partner loves making the scenics, and we love the Dapol kits too.
Thanks, great fir you to be able to do it together,
It's looking really great, nice to see the lost solders are back. I started to make the same mistake in covering electrical blocks but had second thoughts over night so put in a lift out section to get to them as a relay is also hidden there for a nearby electrofrog point.
Thanks, sods law is as soon as you cover it they stop working lol
Hey Mike it looks wonderful,so much detail in a small space.I have a couple of those 040s and they are great.
Thanks,they are much underated
Love the new layout. Your videos are really inspiring. Happy late Guy Fauks day from across the pond
Thanks, and all the best to the other side of the pond
Looking really good, love all the details😁👍
Thanks bro, thought you would appreciate the lost officers
@@BudgetModelRailways good to see Dads crane still on a layout after all these years, and a few of his buildings I think!😊
@@gregpotter6957 two cottages in the village. All had traces of scenery on so must have been used on his shed layout I assume
Wow nice update .Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and commenting
@@BudgetModelRailways Great and thanks very much for replying to my comment. I have a new video out now on the update of my layout plus a special remembrance too.. Hope you like and share.
I will have a look thanks
@@BudgetModelRailways Thank you
Looks great. I like the position of the signal box.
Thanks, bit was a squeeze but looked better there than it's original planned position, and completes the station area, especially the level crossing
Wonderful little layout! Might build something similar (but a bit bigger) in the future when more funds come by.
Thanks, I make things pretty cheaply, lots of recycled and second hand stuff, and discount store materials
Very nice.
You should exhibit this as it shows people what’s possible not impossible. 👍
Thanks we have exhibited a few of our layouts for that reason. Too.many perfect layouts don't inspire people it puts them off
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks
Looking fantastic.
Thanks
As far as your officers being lost, I suppose you could give them an IPad , lol.
That would only make it worse lol
Looks great!!
Thanks
Looks good
6️⃣0️⃣3️⃣🚂😎. 🚂❤️great job. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
Looking really good! 👍
Thanks
My own view is that adding frozen people detracts from the layout. If you must, the loco should come first.
Nice update Mike the layout is coming together well. Could we by chance see a shunting video on the layout?.
Thanks, yes it's planned
Looking good. So, you have an 0-4-0 addiction? Mine is 0-6-0 and I'm not looking for an intervention group! Have fun.
Sadly it's locomotives in general, I can't resist a bargain
Hey up!
I've seen someone "paint" people using coloured sharpie pens as it's easier and less messy, may be worth a shot.
Interesting
I use them to detail loco cabs, etc. For example, I have the same Hornby GWR 0-4-0 featired in this video. Using a large metallic gold sharpie, I inserted the round tip into the front of the cab windows and twirled it back and forth a few times. It left a ring that looked like a round brass frame. Once you start looking, you can find many places where a dab of ink will add realism to your running stock, e.g. buffers, hand rails, cab interiors, door handles.
Great idea thanks
Wow. The layout is looking amazing.
It's really coming together well.
Each little detail added makes it that much better. Great work.
Where do you find those little pedestrian crossing pieces?
I'd love to add them to my layout.
Mon from Brisbane
I found them on ebay, they are laser cut. Thanks
Recenly ordered an 009 steam loco, im just curious as to what I can use for making mountains, as im working on a tally-llyn style layout soon, on a board a bit larger than market town, and im just wondering as to how i can do steep terrain with some grass perches.
I just use cardboard or foam packaging covered in paper mache. For rock faces use cheap ready mixed filler, we have several videos on it
Another great update. Is it an optical illusion or have you snuck a point in on the back left corner just behind the bridge?
Well spotted, the exit is carefully hidden, it will eventually serve the fiddle yard complex
@@BudgetModelRailways fantastic
Fantastic!! Love the bus by the signal box and the motor bike heading up the hill amongst all else. What foliage did you use for your hill, love the color. Thanks for sharing.
Very kind thanks, I do think vehicles add to the layout. I use whatever scatter I can buy cheap at shows and classic Rail etc, and mix it in tub, each hill is slightly different as the mix gets added to and changed.
@@BudgetModelRailways Thanks Mike, go safe. Looking forward to the next update when time allows
beautiful, is there any chance of a track diagram ,
Thanks very kind. If you look at the latest video I do a complete layout tour Inc the track plan. I don't actually have a drawn one as my layouts evolve rather than get planned
Really, really nead some weathering. Other than that it’s looking good.
Depends if you like weathering
Quick question, what is your opinion on the hornby pug?
Depends whether you mean the actual pug or the larger saddle tank version which some call a pug? My actual pug is nice, noisy but runs ok, would I pay the silly money asked for them now, no.
@@BudgetModelRailways ok, Your right I should have specified what I meant. I meant the actual one, thanks!
To me there is only one lol. It's a useful loco if you don't have much space, mine is noisy and some people have issues stalling on points but I haven't. I paid £20 for mine a couple of years ago, I wouldn't pay the £40+ they go for now
I'm now searching for model kit figures of two lost soldiers
They come from the Valiant Miniatures box
