Great editing Dave. You stick to what is important and the video moves right along keeping my interest. Well done.
Thank you for the very kind, encouraging words, my friend! I really appreciate that! It's always great to hear from you, brother! -Dave
Nice knife. Thanks for showing us and take care.
Great to see a review a good time after serious use Dave. Thanks
Hey, Dean O! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your nice comment, my friend! Great to hear from you and I hope everything is going well! -Dave
I have a Nessi from another manufacturer and love it. It is fully functional and excels in camp-duties and holds its own in more rigorous chores. The hump adds bulk and mass and allows it to baton with ease. It is also convenient to hold on to when scraping not to mention makes a great spoon for eating. This is an awesome colonial American design based on a butcher knife. There are other companies that make better Nessmuks when it comes to fit-and-finish. However, this one is a tough and well-made camp knife. Great vid.
Great review with excellent practical demonstrations, as always; thanks Dave!
I really appreciate the kind, encouraging words, my friend! Thank you for stopping by and I hope everything is going well for you! -Dave
Thanks for the review again Dave. Makes me want the knife even more. Excellent demonstration of what it can do.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your nice comment, John! I think you would absolutely love this knife, my friend! -Dave
Great re-visit on the Nessmuk. I have made a few blades this style and I made the handle a little fatter in the front for the same reasons you pointed out. Thanks for sharing your time and experiences.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your excellent comment, Bill! Sounds like you've made some great Nessmuk style blades and I like that you made the handle fill the hand better in the front! Very smart, my friend! -Dave
i admire your skill while using that knife. your videos are always educational. impressive.
I don't know if it was said but you're the bushcraft Bob Ross.
I love your videos and I don't why it took me until now to subscribe.
Great work on video mate 👍👍
Finally, a "tip test" that makes sense. That is an interesting looking knife, and I understand what you mean regarding the handle. Thanks for the well done review.

Thanks for the updated review.
Thank you for watching my updated review! It's nice to hear from you, my friend! -Dave
thank you we luv our condor stuff looks like i good knife n good price ..
You are exactly right, my friend! Nothing wrong with Condor - good knives at a good price! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave your awesome comment! -Dave
Great looking knife Dave great review I was thinking about getting one before .
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! I think you would really like this knife and it's affordable, too! I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your awesome comment! -Dave
Great video! As with most Condor stuff, for the price point it's a pretty nice knife. Axe on, Junkies!
Thank you for the kind words, Chet! You are exactly right about most Condor knives! I remember you doing an excellent review on this knife years ago. Yes, Axe On, brother! -Dave
Sicuramente è bello. Ma pericoloso. Prova a piantarlo con decisione con le mani bagnate. Sono sicuro che cambierai il tuo commento. Impugnatura liscia per giunta senza guardia. Io li evito questa tipologia di coltelli.
Thanks great video
Great video, nice looking knife . Fixing on ordering one
Thank you for the kind words, Orlando! You are going to love this knife! Keep me posted, my friend! -Dave
Sweet knife Sir! Thanks for sharing! I'm trying to catch up on your videos. I've been rather busy as of late.
Thank you for watching and great to hear from you, my friend! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by, as time is our most precious commodity! -Dave
Nice demo Dave, I have a poor opinion on condor knives however I would like to try this one. The shape interests me and I can see it doing many tasks well. I really like that it is not a 1/4" thick prybar too. Hopefully I can get my hands on one and give it a try. Have a good week my friend.
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! Sorry to hear about your experience with Condor knives. Thats mainly why I have purchased my Condors from the baryonyx knife company. Benjamin inspects all of them. You are exactly right about the blade thickness, as 1/8" thick is right where I like it. I think you would like this one and it would work well for your hunting and fishing! -Dave
Hey man great update! Subbed!
Thank you for taking the time to watch, sub and leave your nice comment, my friend! It's great to have you here! -Dave
Nice video, Dave. Its a good skinner too. I would do a skinning video with mine but YT would say it is ins't suitable for adverts.
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! I am not a hunter myself, but I can imagine it being a good skinner and you are probably spot-on about YT. I appreciate you taking the time to stop! -Dave
Nice demo Dave! Nice feather stick and fire.
Thank you for watching, my friend! I appreciate that kind words and it's very nice to hear from you! I hope everything is going well for you and your family! -Dave
Once again great job Dave!
Thank you, my friend! I believe I tell you this every year but I would like to thank you, again, for all of your support and kind words throughout 2017 and look forward to talking with you again soon! -Dave
Well, you're the one doing the work. I just watch and enjoy! It's my pleasure. New York State is my favorite outdoor place I was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB for 8 years way back when... Paul.
Thank you, Paul! Thats great to hear! I am very familiar with Plattsburgh! Its quite northeast of me, however I have done a lot of camping and hiking up there and have also been to the AFB for a few concerts. My son currently attends college at Potsdam! -Dave
Nice; thanks for the update
Thank you for watching, tim! I really appreciate the kind words and support, my friend! Very nice to hear from you! -Dave
when mine arrived over 2 years ago it was so dull it wouldn't cut hot butter a few days with a carborundum stone and then Japanese water stones 120 through 1600 grit... you could shave with this blade. I love it and the bushlore knife that I bought with it... I have yet to get either one to through sparks with a piece of flint but they work a treat (as my English girl friend says) with a ferro rod.
Thank you for stopping by, my friend! I also have trouble getting consistent sparks with flint/chert with any of my Condor knives, as well. Not that they won't spark, they just don't 'rain' sparks each and every time like other high carbon steel knives. Aside from that, every Condor knife I own is excellent! -Dave
Muito bom! É uma ótima faca!
Awesomeness and great Hat
Thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by! -Dave
Darn no coffee but still enjoyed this video!! I wondered about that blade and what it is good at. Blessings 😇
Its great to have you here, with or without your coffee, my friend! Nessmuk and most Nessmuk-style blades are thinner and excel at hunting and skinning tasks. Being that I am not a hunter, I am glad Condor made this more of a Nessmuk-style utility blade because I think it does an outstanding job at woodworking and food prep, especially after the baryonyx knife company put that scandi grind on it! -Dave
I get all my Condor blades from Baryonx too for the special grade edge treatment.
Its a great place to purchase knives! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your awesome comment, my friend! -Dave
Smooth work...
.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your awesome comment, my friend! I really appreciate that! -Dave
Great video as always.
Thank you for the kind words, Rick! It's always great to hear from you and I appreciate all of the support you have provided my channel over the past year, my friend! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love Thank you Dave. My UA-cam app updated and I didn’t see your reply until now haha. Please keep making these great videos, I’m always happy to see a new one!
Another Excellent Review!
Thank you for the kind words, David! Nice to hear from you, my friend! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love Thanks Dave! I’ve used my Nesmuck for field dressing deer in addition to bush crafting and I absolutely love this knife! I thinned edge using water stone and then stropping. I concur with you in that handle is a little small.
You make the nest feather sticks Dave. The knife is beautiful too.
Thank you for the kind words, Nathan! Very nice to hear from you, my friend, and I hope everything is going well! -Dave
Good review, Dave.
If you're finding your hand is sliding up the handle, try IA Woodsman's method of wrapping it with de-stranded (hollow) paracord on the narrow part nearest the blade.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your nice comment, my friend! I appreciate you stopping by! -Dave
You should try the Matt Graham Primative Bush Knife with the Walnut handle by Condor. I have it. I tgink you may enjoy it alot.
Thanks for the video and review, great followup after you using it so long.
I guess you could thin the handle down in the back and put a bit of grip tape (wilson tennis racquet tape) over the front to keep from sliding up.
I like the Condor Nessmuk, but I wish it was just a bit bigger blade... maybe an inch or inch-and-a-half longer.
Thank you for watching, my friend! I could probably do some different mods, however, it isn't one of my most used knives so it isn't too bad when I do bring it into the forest. I like the blade size and length, just wish the handle itself filled my hand a bit more. I appreciate you stopping by, Roy! -Dave
Buyin it
A great review of a great knife, I am a lover of the Scandinavian Grind, I think it offers the best all around use, but that is just my own opinion. Think I will stay with my Mora for every day. Again its a personal choice. David have you ever looked at Jacklore knife's from the UK, Sandy makes great knifes, I am a lucky person to own one, there a rare and lovely beast, look him up on youtube, you will not be sorry. I hope all is good with you my good friend, all is good this side of the pond. DaveUK
Nice new avatar, Dave! I thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your awesome comment! I feel the exact same way about Scani Grinds! I have come across some of Sandy's videos and they are beautiful knives. That is great that you own one! Does he have a video on the one you own? Everything is good here and I am very happy to hear the same on your side of the pond, my friend! I hope to talk with you again soon! -Dave
That knife looks like a remake of the Grohmann D. H. Russell knife for general camp tasks and skinning. Grohmann uses a German high carbon steel -- very useful and indestructable knife; they make the larger Canadian Belt Knife for Canadian military also. I suppose the condor is cheaper.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave your awesome comment, Mary! Nice to hear from you! -Dave
Mary Cahill No it's a Nessmuk knife ,been around since 1800's designed by a field guide calling himself "Nessmuk" after an indian friend. The knife you refer to is younger by 100 yrs and was originally a military paratroopers knife i think. Anyway imo the Nessmuk is way prettier. Many people make Nessmuks just google ,or even search youtube. There is an ebbok available by Nessmuk aka George Washington Sears.
I was hoping to see how it did as a skinning knife?
nice knife ,i like it
Not a bad knife, at all, phyllis! Thank you for taking the time to stop by, my friend! Nice to hear from you! -Dave
Another great video brother. Agree 110% about buying from Baryonix, Benjamin is a great guy who does a beautiful job sharpening a blade to perfection.
What’s your findings on the edge retention with 1075? I’ve got several blades in 1095, so I’d love to know if there’s any appreciable difference between the two.
Anyway, keep up the great work and keep smiling.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your excellent comment, my friend! It's nice to hear from you! Great question...I find that 1075 doesn't hold an edge as well as 1095, however, it's very easy to touch up and I always have a strop with me. I would like to thank you for all of your support and kind words over the past year, my friend! I consider myself lucky to have you here! -Dave
Shave wood or shave more wood or should we shave wood
Hey, awesome video...I love this knife... congratulations. I hace a little question, at the standard configuration this knife come with convex grind or scandi grind? Thanks and best regards.
Hola compañero, un video impresionante ... me encanta este cuchillo ... felicidades. Tengo una pequeña pregunta, ¿en la configuración estándar este cuchillo viene con filo convexo o escandinabo? Gracias y saludos.
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! I have never seen a standard Condor Nessmuk, however, from what I've read, I believe it comes with a convex grind. I appreciate you stopping by! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love Thanks Dave, with me you have one more subscriber. Have a Merry Christmas. Best regards.
Thank you, very much, my friend! Its great to have you here! Merry Christmas to you, too! -Dave
Thanks for your video , Q: could you experiment with a bicycle inner tube on the handle to give extra grip / thicker handle ,or even handlebar tape ,do you think that might help , just my thoughts .
Thank you for watching, Rob! I definitely could experiment with some of the materials you mentioned! Its more of the thinness of the handle that fatigues my hand more than the grip itself. I appreciate you stopping by and leaving your awesome comment! -Dave
Great review. Have you considered making your own handle for it?
Thank you for the kind words, Nick! I have not considered making a handle because this isn't one of my most used knives(not to mention I am not that skilled in handle making..haha). I appreciate you stopping by, my friend! -Dave
I re handled mine with Coco Bolo. Good blade.
Sounds awesome! Thank you for taking the time to stop by, my friend! -Dave
Another excellent video Dave,it's a different kind of knife always good to keep an open mind.I have very big hands triple X gloves and the handles on those Condor knives look small, any advice would be much Appreciated.I'm making my way slowly through your Vids.Stay safe.
Sono un forgiatore di lame. E ti sconsiglio vivamente coltelli con impugnatura liscia e senza guardia. Sono pericolosi se usati con le mani bagnate.
Nice video! :-) Actually, all your videos are very good! :-)
Question: Which one would you prefer for bushcraft, food and general camp chores - Condor Nessmuk or Condor Kephart?
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your very nice comment, Michal! I really appreciate that! Great question...neither one of the handles are my favorite, as the Kephart handle is a bit thin and the taper on the Nessmuk handle makes some camp chores a bit more challenging. They are both excellent knives but I really like using the Nessmuk, although the Kephart is a bit more versatile. Hope that helps, my friend! -Dave
Thank you! :-)
Do you think micarta scales would feel better to the hand?
Thats a good question, my friend....maybe micarta scales with some liners to "fatten" up the handle a bit. Thank you for stopping by! -Dave
That's a great design condors came a long way with their blades this one I like had the bush lore wasn't impressed but my Hudson bay I loved it take care brother
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave your awesome comment, my friend! It's very nice to hear from you! -Dave
Awesome video I have to ask though do you prefer this knife or the bush lore?
Thats an excellent question, Cassidy! While I like the Nessmuk a lot, I find the Bushlore a bit more adequate for bushcraft/woodcraft. The blade is a little better at working wood and the handle is more consistent and comfortable. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and leave your awesome comment! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love you're welcome thank you for answering my question and making great videos.
Cool
Thank you, Sean! Great to hear from you, my friend! I appreciate you stopping by! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love welcome friend
“What hump?” Eyegorr
What a great comment, Tom! My wife's absolute favorite movie! -Dave
Hey friend 🙂 You are getting so good at knife work I believe you could make someone want to buy a butter knife lol. A great review👍🏻 Almost got one of these until I stumbled upon the camp MUK. A present for my uncle. I also did not like the handle shape. It seemed like that 1075 was holding up pretty good. No problems with rolling?
Hello, my friend! Thank you for the very kind, encouraging words! You cannot go wrong with that camp MUK! How is your uncle liking it? I can imagine there is not much to dislike about any LT Wright Knife! I must say that I have been pretty lucky with my Condor knives. Out of the few I own, rolling has never really been a problem. A bit of rolling a couple of times with the bushlore (after very heavy use) but their 1075 makes it very easy to sharpen and strop out. Very nice to hear from you! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love my uncle loves the Camp muk 🙂 it is actually a pretty small knife. Not near as big as the Condor and a full flat grind I believe? I think they make a bigger one with a scandi. I’ve heard of it but never actually seen one. The handle has the same curvature but not so pronounced. It is awkward to just hold in your hand but put it to work and it gives you a ton of power. I have some exciting news😀 I talked to Ben from bens backwoods and him and Jason are thinking of making a run of Lagom knives in cpm 3v💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 save your pennies 🎉🎉🎉 I will definitely purchase one if they decide to produce some
Thats great to hear, my friend! Actually, I already own the Lagom in my favorite 01 tool steel but definitely keep me posted on how you like that one! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love really? Have you ever tried cpm 3v? I never have but every one that does loves it. I would want it because it is stain resistant and I live 10 miles from the ocean in the south. All the rivers around me are tidal and brackish
HighCarbonSteel Love hey friend did you watch the virtual vault on LT Wright? I spent more money😂 I got a camp muk for myself. Not just any though. It’s premium desert ironwood with orange liners. The blade is cpm 3v with a saber grind🎉🎉🎉🎉 I’m so excited to get it!!!
Great knive, but i don't like too much the curve file yo Sharp, good channel
Thank you for watching and leaving your kind words! More curves for more of a processing game-type knife. I don't process game but I wanted to show that it has the versatility to do wood tasks, as well. -Dave
The joker nessmuk or the Becker bk 19 is better
Has there been any noise about Condor's so-called "Neonessmuk"? I find this pretty ironic, since its design is a much closer mirror to the original than the "Nessmuk" in this video.
You are right, that knife does resemble the drawings in Sears' writings. Maybe someday I will check that one out, being that it's 1095 steel. Initially, I thought you were referring to the Lochnessmuk knife...haha! Thank you for taking the time to stop by! -Dave
Say Heah Dave, Yeah, when the Nessmuk Craze started, I wanted one, but I like a little longer blades. So I almost bought the Bark River Nessmuk. Then I got a e-mail from Adventure Sworn and he had just what I wanted, a White G-10 Handle in 3V. So I bought it on the spot. It completed my Wannabe Nessmuk Trio. Dilly Dilly.,,.p
That Adventure Sworn Nessmuk sounds excellent, especially with the white g10 handles! Glad to hear that you completed your Nessmuk Trio! -Dave
HighCarbonSteel Love, Thanx You Dave, Yeah, It's a little more expensive than the Condor Nessmuk, but it's also in 3V and a 5" blade from tip to handle. Besides being my Wannabe Nessmuk Trio. The White G-10 Handle can make other carries that are with the White G-10 Handles. I have the Adventure Sworn 3V Guide, my Modified Attitude, and my Modified Mad Hatter Machete. Also my new William Collins Custom Set. (5) Knives in all. Dilly Dilly.,,.p
He says dilly dilly!!! Makes me wanna go to dairy queen and get a dilly bar!!!
Compared to this knife, I prefer my Othello Yukon Hunter Canadian belt knife.
Canadian Belt Knives are excellent knives! Thank you for taking the time to stop by, my friend! -Dave
I might have to ask santa for one of these😂
I think you would love it, my friend! Not a bad knife to play around with! Thank you for taking the time to stop by! -Dave
I don’t need another knife. 😩😩
My friend you cant pattatoes with it. Sorry. You can use only like a axe,
Here is the problem with *Condor.* Almost all of their products are over weight & so usually much heavier than the knives or big knives they are suppose to represent.
The best thing about *Condor Knife & Tool company* is the sheaths.
I love Condor's sheaths! I appreciate you taking the time to stop by! -Dave
apples and oranges. you are reviewing a baronyx knife, not a row run condor
Very good point. Baryonyx Knife company is an excellent place to purchase Condor knives due to Benjamin's attention to detail and sharpening service. Thank you for watching! -Dave
Ok tell me how can i take this as a review of a product when you order a modified blade from a middle man? Waste of time
Thank you for watching! The Baryonyx Knife Company is an excellent place to purchase knives and tools! -Dave
Ho stoppato il video a 36 secondi. Mi sono bastati per dire che è un coltello da non comprare né copiarlo. Se ci tenete alle vostre mani. Manico liscio e senza guardia, assolutamente pericoloso con le mani bagnate.
