@@intisara9285 Watch the Chris Harris video on the Porsche hybrid. The cars power is deployed automatically at each corner due to mappings. That's far worse than traction control

@@alexbuckenham1663 It's super interesting how he achieved a couple of P6s last year in the toro rosso, looking impressive then now he seems...Slow. Where as Max from TR to RB was able to adapt immediately. I'm really interested as to why, would love to see the data/telemetry.

Crofty is an idiot (as per usual) for giving Gasly the benefit of the doubt saying 'it's only his 3rd race with his new team'. My reaction to that was 'But Charles already has a pole position after 2 races with his new team so that's no excuse.' I've been very disappointed with Gasly so far, certainly.

Hamilton was slow on purpose, the soft tyres were only good for one fast lap, it was to ensure the least amount of degradation in the out lap.
Not often you see a perfectly ordered top 10 in F1 anymore...

Nice spot, that's quite interesting. Hopefully it'll make the scramble at the start a little more interesting as everybody tries a little harder not to crash into their own teammate.

Preeetty dodgy from the Mercs on that final run. Almost looked like they were trying to squeeze Vettel out of his lap and Red Bull got caught in the crossfire.
Well that's exactly what they did
They even said to bottas: “don’t let anyone get past you” .. so every other team had to barely get by. That destroyed it for both redbull and haas
Isn't this just smart tactically? Ferrari didn't need to go out behind Mercedes...
No, everyone was trying to save the soft tyres because they degrade fast on China, and of course Bottas shouldn't let anyone pass, it could hurt his own lap.

McLaren didn't necessarily have a reality check. Carlos was saying that they got lucky in Bahrain. They're really in a unique situation right now.

@@gseric4721 Besides, this is still one of their worst tracks if we think back to the last few years and based on how much they struggle through mid and high speed corners last year (probably the worst on the grid last year in that department). Even then, they have closed the gap significantly to the mid pack (last year the gap was about 8-9 tenths with slipstream to Renault and Haas whereas this year they are only 3-4 tenths back to those 2, who got to Q3) so do not count them out for tomorrow, as Renault powered cars typically have better race pace than 1 lap pace, so expect Carlos to be able to mount a comeback as far as the Haas drivers and maybe the Renaults (which given the situation is still pretty decent)
You're jumping to conclusions based on your ridiculous expectations and the season has barely started...
And teams' success has near always been track dependent, Sherlock.
@Yohan Shame.. gives hope for tomorrow, specially with a weak Lewis, let's see if they can fix that and opt for that win and maybe for a 1-2 tomorrow, as it seems their race pace traditionally is better or a bit closer to Mercs

Just look at Robert Kubica his time compared to his teammate George Russell, who was Formula 2 champion last year. It's almost identical and that for someone that retired from F1 a long time ago and has got a handicap in his arm.

Look at the time gaps between drivers of the same team at the end of Q3. Those guys are insane, literal machines. We're talking thousandths of a second after several kilometers with dozens of turns, break points and what not!!

I would really enjoy if the highlight showed more of every ones fastest lap. So you can compare how every driver takes the corner or if they get stuck in traffic etc.

Danny Ric talks much faster than he drives. He left Red Bull because Max was showing him to be the slow driver. Now at Renault, he is having the same problem, plus he is showing that he can't look after his car.
And that genius piece of driving in Australia. Despite the fact there was no other car's near him, the Australian media still said he was squeezed onto the grass. Australians always have an excuse for their poor performances, no matter what the event.

Merc an amazing team with 1-2 finishes in the first 2 races and already a front row lock out. This looks like another season of things going one teams way with the rest of the teams having academic results. I’m hoping for a very competitive race with some upsets in the finishing order.

Okay.... Season is already over at the top. At least the midfield is interesting.
Why? Ferrari are just 3 tenths back despite them constantly sending the drivers out in traffic, and Red bull (well, Verstappen) seem to be improving a bit
Pit strategy is going to be hectic here with the abrasion levels here. It's going to be a very interesting pitstop battle going on in the midfield.
Everybody said the same thing last year when Vettel was leading the championship in Hockenheim and Lewis was down on his knees out in Q2. Stop overreacting to *Practice* and *Qualy* results. *Points* are awarded after the *race.* Btw, has anyone who started on *pole* managed to win a race this year?

Congrats to BOT, Finnish sisu. Nailed setup and dominated HAM before his teammate closed the gap in qualy. I reckon HAM is still trailing BOT and that BOT will win comfortably tomorrow. With LEC and VER left frustrated after qualy and Ferrari showing strong race pace in FP2, tomorrow should yield fireworks at the start and a very good race behind the championship leader.
BOT needs to capitalise on this strong start to the season to emulate Rosberg's 2016 WDC triumph.
