- This is probably my favourite Chisel tune, and it has the best of Moss! Solos galore, and all of them are really bluesy and cool. Not a guitarists kind of song really, ive never met another player who has heard of this song, but i love it.
Awesome Channel , Please Rob Sir upload some 2015 World cup matches , If not here than make a channel in Telegram app , Please 🙏
Thank you!
It illistrates pefectly how the members of Cold Chisel complemented each other. And what a brillian guitarist mossy is! (There are very few peices of music where the guitar can literally run through the whole song ... Without becoming a meandering load of tripe that is... "It just shows how great mossy is!!"
Thanks! I love Diesel, he was my first inspiration to learn guitar watching him as Barnsey's guitarist on that Barnestorming tour in 88, I love that album. Learnt all of the Injectors LP when I took lessons, awesome stuff. First strat song I tried to play was Cry In Shame, still love it, great tones!!!!
You RULE Rob
I am sending this link to Mossy
Take care mate
XO
That's not fair - you're the cricket God AND the rock God?
Love this Rob!! Do you by chance have the 2006/07 ashes been trying to find that for a while plus someone took it down😡
the sweet sweet sound of cold chisel...going down
You legend⚡Rockstars are freaking awesome
Who is the batsman in the photo behind you?
A wanna be glam rock 'guitarist' named Jay I played in a cover band with years ago who's hero was Richie Sambora from Bon Jovi tried telling me Ian Moss was a crap guitarist, he 1. was clearly a dumb ass with ordinary taste in guitarists & 2. obviously never heard the Chisel song Dresden! As a guitarist himself he couldn't pull off 10% of what Mossy does here
Thanks again - I'm nowhere at your standard but as you say great fun to try and I can work on these songs with my teacher. Can't wait for Georgia! I assume you've just slowly worked these out by ear?
Thanks for posting mate - brilliant work and a treat for Chisel fans. Can't wait to give it a go now that I have some idea where to start. Looks like it's based around Am? Thanks again.
STEPHEN ROGER WAUGH.
Nice work bro......I love all Chisel tunes & I cut my teeth on learning Chisel tunes as a young bloke.......still play & Mossy's influence is evident in my playing to this day.....Breakfast at Sweethearts.....what an album!!!!!
Sweethearts is awesome! A bit under-produced, but awesome. I just cant believe Mossy was so young himself in 79 and playing with such originality
Excellent rendition dude!
Great playing. Great song.
what a thoughtful gift to the Deutsch....
Great work mate! I play a bit of guitar too and absolutely love this song. Must have taken a lot of work to learn it, so thanks for posting a vid.
Wow that must have been incredible to jam with Ian, he is just a fabulous underrated player, full of tone and great phrasing, you are a lucky man indeed!!!
Thanks, Dresden is great.
Well Done, one of a very few who can do Mossy justice.. There's a totally killer live version of this on the 1978 ABC bootleg . Well worth seeking out. I think the reason this song got kind lost is the guys have very bad feelings about the recording of this track. I know it was written and arranged in the studio and the producer had a lot of input.
Dont worry man, i pretty much shit my pants when that bootleg came available, i couldnt believe Dresden was on it!!!!! Amazing song. Most people think its boring, but for some reason i loved it first i heard it. Weird to have so many guitar solos on a song, but GREAT news for Moss fans, obviously!!!!!!
Thanks mate! Yep it took me ages, but it was well worth it!
Fishing for more views?
Yep slowly worked it out over time, want to get the Pretty Face solo learnt next, I love that one, especially the MTV version!
Thank you, now thats a good way to embarrass me!! I'm sure Ian will hunt me down and cut my fingers off!I really love this song and Ian's playing throughout has always remained great in my book.
Beautifully done mate , very skillful playing and hardcore playing an Ian Moss solo for the most experienced guitarist it's very difficult task.
Great playing young man. Also one of my favourite Chisel songs - but rather strange lyrics
“The salmon seasons here to stay, and etched into each shoulder bone the mark of Cain is on display, stone above each measured stone” Too deep for me I’m afraid but you did the tune great credit.
Not so young now, 44!!!
Thank you! I may not look like i'm having fun but on the inside i'm loving it!
By the way .This dude nailed it!!... Brav
Never too late to start mate!!! As far as scales its all C major, or A Minor. Mossy uses more than just the pentatonic, generally. Mostly the full minor scale, with the occasional blues note chucked in. Took ages to figure out this song by ear, so many solos, but they are all great!
Thanks! Sweethearts is a great cd, I like Showtime too. The whole album sounds better on vinyl too.....
There best album 💯🤙
anyone know what this song is about
Grenge g Dresden was an old wooden city in Germany. During WW2 it was bombed and a huge fire storm started burned many people alive!!
3 dresden
Gosh thanks dude! Dresden is the best song ever!!!!!!!
im in love with you mate!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dresden one of my all time faves
That was great, well done...I jammed with Mossy recently and he is STILL an amazing guitar player, as well as a down to earth bloke...
Yep its in A minor, quite a tough solo to figure out actually, deceptively difficult!
But tons of fun! Not that its a technical metal solo or anything but to get the phrases just right takes some time. Ian's general phrasing is stellar. I still want to get it a bit better but i'm not so worried, its a fun solo to play!
BRILLIANT!
I love this song, one of their best.
LOL it has 2512 more views than i thought it would ever get, LOL! i make al these videos private most of the time, but a few people who liked this channel before it was my 2nd cricket channel have ben asking what happened to the vids.
Great, great playing there mate. Great, great song too, one of my Cold Chisel faves.
I am just starting guitar (at 41 FFS) and am interested to know what is going on here, technically. e.g Is it mainly straight out Minor pentatonic etc?
Thankyou for sharing these solos of Mossy they are great ! Hope you keep posting more, and maybe include Mark 'Diesel' Lizotte songs ? They are two incredible Aussie singer, guitar players who are amazing to listen to.
Thanks
Nice feel man, enjoyed it! I just uploaded my band rehearsin 'smalltown blues'. Mossy is definately underrated, as a songwriter and guitarist.
Great stuff here. Really impressive, in my opinoin. Am going to check out some of your other vids.
Awesome playing, man! Long live Chisel :-D Greetings from the UK.
'Juliet' has got to be my fave ;-) J
Awesome Rob !!
Sooooo well done
Absolute bastard! I've been meaning to work this one out, and now I'll have to. One of my all-time favourite Chisel tunes. Nicely done (a couple of timing issues in places but you did the whole song - a bit much to re-record the whole thing just for the sake of a few notes).
I'm your missing player mate.. I've been a touring pro player since I left school, adored Chisel all my life, and this tune never leaves my mind. I've adored Mossy's blues inventiveness, Barnes' storytelling phrasing genius years before he started screaming, and Don Walker's undeniable brilliance in lyrical writing content.. this song resonates with me long after many others have come and gone. Just another Chisel masterpiece that will stick with me for years.
