Your arguments are good and Scriptural. I’d like to see more about this topic in refuting specific arguments people make for these praise songs. For example, they say that the verse you cited mentions spiritual songs and argue that’s exactly what they are singing. Or they say that it doesn’t matter what we sing because God knows what’s in our hearts. Or a pastor even argued that it doesn’t matter that these songs are written by heretics to further their false teaching, because his people will interpret them correctly. They always seem to have an answer for any criticism of the songs.

I played in praise bands for a long time. My observation is that most praise leaders don't have a solid theological background, or they have little regard for sound doctrine.
