Sony has zero incentive to port games to Xbox
The PS5 outsells the Xbox 2:1 so paying extra money to port games to a platform with less than half the audience you currently have probably isn’t worth it
Steam is the way to go because those people aren’t going to buy PS5’s and the revenue from the relatively cheap porting process will go right back into games
Sony also makes money on their hardware and doesn’t sell at a loss so there will always be an incentive to give the best experience on PS5 and not half ass it
Sony’s hardware strategy seems smart. With Xbox releasing “the most powerful console ever” again in 2025/2026 and potentially a new handheld, it’s smart to put out PS5 Pro this year and get an even bigger jump in 2027 or 2028 with the PS6

Would I just be better off putting my money into a high performance computer that I can continually upgrade, rather than spend money on consoles that become defunct in a few years? Why should I spend $1000-$1500 every few years on consoles when I could be putting that money into a high performance gaming computer?
The game preservation thing is key to me. I buy all of the top tier best of the best games on disc, any lower teir stuff I just wait until a digital psn sale. It's crazy that even with audible you don't actually own your books unless you download them. They can delete them from their server at anytime and have zero obligation to warn you.

I've bought and owned every Sony console ever made (and a Dreamcast, but I won't talk about that)... but for me to buy a PS5 Pro, it has to have an Optical out port (what were they thinking when removing that?). I'd also love a brand new inFamous game. One with Cole, Delsin and Abigail in it, but can't see that happening any time soon unfortunately.

Another thing that sucks with Sony’s PlayStation. The PlayStation has to be tethered to the internet. It’s always checking for a license (not sure if it does it with disk). Who’s had their internet go out only to not be able to play because of that (although sometimes you can get internet through your Mobile device)

Well I’ll be honest you already screwed up bybuying call of duty modern warfare…the only way to fix your problem is delete the game and refund it!
If you haven't got it working yet and assuming you are on PC I have found this workaround via reddit and steam community. All credit to V. Hope it fixes it for you.

My mate offered to buy me a Series X to go alongside my PS5. I turned his offer down. I can already not play Xbox's games just fine. In all honesty I believe his exclusive use of Gamepass for all his gaming has hurt his perceptions of what good games are. Looking at all the dross he's played through I miss my friend of old who would have known his free time was too valuable to waste on such utter guff.

Im interested in Grounded on PS5 and as for Starfield they can keep it, they touted about exploring 100’s of planets and its just not the exploration like in FO4 which I played the crap out of 2 different times..✌🏼

Just like No Man's Sky, that originally came out on PS4 and windows in 2016, and later came to the XboxOne in 2018. So we have had PS games come from the PS over to Xbox and the same in vice versa.

These console graphic jumps are getting less drastic with every new console. Xbox is spewing shit saying it’ll be the biggest jump. From what we can see from most games on the market, there really isn’t that big of a jump to our current gen from the last gen.

The only game in xbox's entire history that I have even had a semi interest in playing is the Indiana Jones game. Not a single other game from xbox piques my interest at all. The only people that like halo are people that never played the timesplitter series.

I agree with you on cloud gaming. I want to go back back to the "good old days" and have a complete fully functional game on a disc or cartridge. Hell, I didn't mind blowing into my cartridges to get them to work! At least they were always there when I wanted to play a game. I'm an old school gamer; I started out on an old pong game that had a "console" that had two knobs that were the "paddle" controls. It was a few years before the Atari 2600, which I also had. One of my friends got a Commodore 6400 and we would spend hours typing the program for a game into it only to have it say "syntax error" when we tried to run it. Hours more reading through the code we had typed in to look for the error we had typed in; usually a colon when it should have been a semicolon. I had an Atari 2600, NES, Sega Genesis, etc. The amount of money that games, let alone consoles, cost now is outrageous when the support for the console is so short lived.

I would love to play Indiana Jones on PS5. That's the only way I'll play it though. I'm not willing to spend the money to buy another console that will just be obsolete in a few years to play a game. there is no upcoming ps5 pro. I can't find any official announcement of a ps5 pro from sony. a ps5 pro is nothing but a pipe dream and I don't see any reason for one. The PS5's power has barely been tapped and most games released are just ps4 games.
Usually I would agree with you Jimmy but sorry games like Halo have been exclusive from the beginning so no absolutely no way they should come over to PlayStation.
