I love historical fiction so much! I remember you saying you've been getting into it more this year. Yay! My favorite is when a book makes me go down a rabbit hole on Google about whatever person or event the book is talking about.
Really liked this video-added a few to my TBR😀- glad you unhauled Hacienda- I gave it 2.5⭐️- gave Diamond eye and magnolia palace 4.5⭐️- they both were great!
My mom read Sisters of Night & Fog and immediately forced it into my hands, so it is sitting on my bookshelf! She loved it! I have enjoyed a few of these titles including Diamond Eye and School for German Brides.
This was such a fun video! Four Treasures of the Sky sounds fascinating. I love historical fiction but haven't heard of most of these! The Diamond Eye is a great and unique WWII story!
I have read "The Book Womans Daughter" and really liked it. "The Diamond Eye" sounds like a book I need to look for on the bookmobile. Looking forward to the try a chapter video.
Hi Krista! I really enjoyed your reaction video! I don’t know how I haven’t heard of Book Bub until now. I am going to check out their past articles; looking forward to it!
I added a few to my tbr too (besides the ones I already own). Wingwalkers is one I haven't heard anyone talk about. That stands out as well as the School for German Brides. Which ones stood out to you?
Take My Hand and Book Woman's Daughter are very high on my TBR as well. I bought a copy of Horse a few days ago after my bookseller featured it at an event - not my normal thing but she made it sound so intriguing I had to give it a try. And your video reminds me that I have Violeta on my shelf and forgot all about it. Several of those sound fantastic.
Hey Christa, this video is a fantastic idea, and you need to read a chapter continuation video. I have read the Wild Women and the Blues by Denny S. Bryce. If you have KU, you can borrow it. It is about the 1920s New York Jazz clubs and the stories of the mafia at that time. I gave the book 5-stars and thought Denny S. Bryce's writing is captivating, you can see my review at GR. I am looking forward to reading her second book In the Face of the Sun.
I enjoy those articles from Book Bub and it was fun to watch your reaction video. I have not read any of these books but several sound good. I do own Book Woman’s Daughter so look forward to that one.
That's good to know, since that's not one that stood out to me. I have heard quite a few of you in the comments say you loved it. Now I'm definitely more interested.
I really enjoyed this video and look forward to the try a chapter. I had heard about the School for German Brides and now I have some more to add. I have done historical romance, but not a lot of historical fiction and I have really enjoyed the ones I have recently read. I can't wait for the try a chapter.
Thanks Sherry. School for German Brides sounds so good, right? I had never heard of it. Glad you enjoyed this. I plan on starting the Try a Chapter video later today.
Great video Krista, adding some of these titles to my Goodreads!!! I've read the Magnolia Palace and loved it, I also read Take My Hand and it was meh for me!!!! Can't wait to see what you think about it. 📖
Loved this video. The School for German Brides has been added to my tbr. The ‘try a chapter’ for the books you mentioned sounds so good. Looking forward to it.
I just started reading the book "OLD HERBACEOUS" by Reginal Arkell and I am already swooning! Read the prologue and the intro and now on chapter 5. I love love love it! It's so much more than a fictional story about a flower garden. So rich in content. I already regret that it's not a chunker, I know the book will be over before I lose my crush for it.
I have Magnolia Palace on my shelves, and The School of German Brides was on my most anticipated releases video. I really need to get to it. If you want to buddy read it, maybe? 😄
This was great Krista. I would love for you to a part 2 where you do a try a chapter. I have the Fiona Davis book but I haven't read it yet. But this list was great. I haven't heard of alot of these books.
I'm adding several of these to my TBR, especially The School for German Brides and The Diamond Eye. Haven't read Sisters of Night and Fog, but it has a high rating from readers.
I am so glad to hear quite a few of you say you liked Sisters of Night and Fog. Now it's definitely on my radar and added to my want to read shelf on GR. It didn't stand out to me at first, but I'm influenced by y'all!
Great video, Krista! So many good books to choose from! Take My Hand sounds excellent and I have Necessary Lies on my highly anticipated TBR. And I’m very keen to try The Diamond Eye 😊📚
I was so glad I had at least heard of a bunch of them. I've read a few articles from Book Bub before and had never heard of any of the books! I have quite a few of these ones and added some to my tbr.
Woman of Light was so confusing. I read the whole book and cant explain what it was about! Maybe too many flashbacks? I liked Take My Hand. Passed it to my stepmother a nurse. She passed it to her friends.
Definitely adding a few of these to my list. I did enter to win for Wingealkers, but don't win, so I do want to read it. Loved The Magnolia Palace! The Hacienda was a "meh" for me. Wasn't a waste to read, but I would honestly mark it as a YA thriller. I would say people that aren't fans of scary books, can read this easily. I've already had people tell me not to compare it to Rebecca, but I haven't even read Rebecca yet so I didn't! You are so correct on the word Paris being in so many titles. I'll have to ho loom for emails to receive from book bub, I get e-book sales from them, and I'm thinking that's it. Have a great day!
Diamond Eye and The School for German Brides have piqued my interest! I used to love Gothic stories of all sorts. I may pick-up The Hacienda just to see if the genre holds any interest for me in 2022.
I read the School For German Brides. I really enjoyed it but it really didn’t go into detail about the school or what they were taught. It’s still worth the read but I think they should have chosen a different title.
I just finished Book Woman’s Daughter. I really enjoyed it. It is quite a sorry sad thing that happened to ppl of color in the early part of the 1900s. 😔
I read The Diamond Eye and it was OK. Also I did not like the romance. Please do your research to make sure you are alright with the relationship s.It was not one of my favorites.
Diamond Eye was gripping. Very good. There is even a song about her written by Woody Guthrie.
I didn't know about the song. Interesting.
yes! loved this video Krista.... gave me more books to put on my list at the library!! lol...
Sweet! I am not putting any on hold quite yet, but a few made it to my GR Tbr list.
I’ve read all of Fiona Davis’s books. Love them!
Both Book Woman books are great, too.
Nice! I have high hopes for both of those ones.

This was such a fun idea! I'm just barely dipping my toe into historical fiction this year and can't wait for the try a chapter part two!
That's good to hear. I don't give half stars, so I'm hopeful both of those 4.5s for you will be 5s for me! haha.
Historical fiction is my favorite genre and I get Bookbub articles (plus daily sale emails) frequently. Excellent video, pls do more like this!
I opted out of the daily emails because it's just too much email to wade through! I know they have some great deals though. Glad you enjoyed this one.
I haven't read any of the books mentioned, but I loved this video. It was fun following you through the article and hearing your thoughts.
Thanks so much Jane. I will probably do more videos like this whenever another article strikes my fancy! haha
My mom read Sisters of Night & Fog and immediately forced it into my hands, so it is sitting on my bookshelf! She loved it! I have enjoyed a few of these titles including Diamond Eye and School for German Brides.
Oh I love to hear that! Sisters of N&F was one that didn't jump out to me, but I'm easily swayed after hearing people say they loved it.
This was such a fun video! Four Treasures of the Sky sounds fascinating. I love historical fiction but haven't heard of most of these! The Diamond Eye is a great and unique WWII story!
I agree. I had never heard of Four Treasures til one of my patrons recommended it. I can't wait to check it out.
I have read "The Book Womans Daughter" and really liked it. "The Diamond Eye" sounds like a book I need to look for on the bookmobile. Looking forward to the try a chapter video.
I'm going to start the Try a Chapter today. Yay!
I think this was such a fun idea for a video! I’ve only read The Book Woman’s Daughter off that list so far. There are many I’m interested in.
I hadn't read any yet. Clearly I need to be reading more historical books!
I've got Take My Hand and The School for German Brides on hold at my library :) Historical fiction is definitely my favorite genre!
Sweet! I added School for German Brides to my to read shelf on GR as soon as I finished filming this. It sounds so good!
Loved this video. It helps me to have a starting place for additions to my TBR. It’s also fun to see someone else’s reactions to selections. 😊
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Krista! I really enjoyed your reaction video! I don’t know how I haven’t heard of Book Bub until now. I am going to check out their past articles; looking forward to it!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Book Bub is great for kindle and audiobook deals as well. Have fun!
Ohh, I like this type of reaction video, if you are willing to do more, I’d love to see them!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun (and easy) video to make so I will definitely do more in the future.
So fun to see that list! I just added quite a few to my tbr…looking forward to your “try a chapter”!
Me too! Any potential buddy reads? 😊
I added a few to my tbr too (besides the ones I already own). Wingwalkers is one I haven't heard anyone talk about. That stands out as well as the School for German Brides. Which ones stood out to you?

I love that you were persuaded by a book seller. I probably would have been too! haha.
@@BooksAndJams she’s very good at the hand selling game lol
Very fun! I had heard of several of these but not any of them that you hadn't. I would love to see a try a chapter of the ones you have!
I plan on filming a try a chapter tomorrow.

Thanks Avigail. I don't have KU, but am going to look that book up on Goodreads. Thanks for the recommendation!
I enjoy those articles from Book Bub and it was fun to watch your reaction video. I have not read any of these books but several sound good. I do own Book Woman’s Daughter so look forward to that one.
I don't always take the time to read all the articles, but this one I couldn't resist checking out!
Loved sisters of night and fog! Really a great read!
That's good to know, since that's not one that stood out to me. I have heard quite a few of you in the comments say you loved it. Now I'm definitely more interested.
I loved this video!!!! Great idea. Looking forward to part 2.
Thanks, Tara! Part 2 has been filmed, just need to edit it now.

I'm very curious about Take My Hand. I just had another commenter say she loved it. I wonder where I'll fall with that one.
@@BooksAndJams That will be interesting to see!!!!

I just bought "The Bookwoman's Daughter" and can't wait to get to it!
Same! I have heard such good things.
Hey Krista! Loved this BB peek-preview. Please do a Chapter/1st line appetizer on the Historical selections you have. Would be fun. 📕🌼🤟
Oooo I should have done a 1st line thing with these ones. I will be doing a try a chapter though. Starting it today.
Nice video. I see some titles I need to add to my TBR.
Same! It's fun to hear of new books from a different source so we get some variety.
I have Magnolia Palace on my shelves, and The School of German Brides was on my most anticipated releases video. I really need to get to it. If you want to buddy read it, maybe? 😄
I have a very full tbr the next couple months, but maybe closer to winter. Remind me so that I can put it on hold at the library.
@@BooksAndJams I'll make a note for myself 🙂, my tbr is full too lately.
This was great Krista. I would love for you to a part 2 where you do a try a chapter. I have the Fiona Davis book but I haven't read it yet. But this list was great. I haven't heard of alot of these books.
Thanks Angela. I do plan on starting to try some of these today. I'll definitely film it.
I have added a few to my TBR so thank you for this video. I read Take My Hand and loved it! Happy Reading!
I'm glad to hear you liked Take My Hand. I haven't heard too many people speak about that one.
I love this impromptu video!!
Thanks!
The Diamond Eye is great. I've enjoyed all of Kate Quinns novels.
I have read 3 and really liked them. Eager to read more from her.
I'm adding several of these to my TBR, especially The School for German Brides and The Diamond Eye. Haven't read Sisters of Night and Fog, but it has a high rating from readers.
I was very pleased with this list. I knew a good chunk and added a few new ones to my TBR. Fun!
Horse is the only one I have. I like some of the other books mentioned!!!
That's one of the few I wasn't interested in. But I hope you love it!
Very interesting! Has caused me to run over to Book Bub and subscribe!
Woohoo! It's a fun email to get. I don't read most of the articles, but there have been some good ones.
I read The masterpiece by Davis for my library book club which is this coming Monday it’s good. I would read others by her.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Sisters of Night and Fog and Diamond Eye are two of my top reads this year. Love those books! I highly recommend them.

Will do! I enjoyed doing this one, so will probably do more in the future.
I really want to read Kate Quinn’s new book!
Me too! I still haven't gotten to it.
I absolutely love this! Some of those books sounded really good!
I get these articles all the time and want to film with them. Finally I did one!
I'm reading this really good book called The Rebal Pirate. Haven't read any of the books you just mentioned
I used to have Rebel Pirate on my shelves, but unhauled it at one point. You'll have to let me know what you think when you finish.
I'm almost done and I am loving it. I guess it is the second book to The Turncoat I think that's the title. Haven't read that one though.
I want to read the school for german brides!
Me too. That one sounds so good, right?
Loved this video! Hope you do more, and I'm so glad you'll be doing a follow-up to this one.
Thanks Lisa. I am glad you enjoyed it.
