Ive worked in a library that also functioned as an archive and our oldest books where from around 1900. only a handful of books where from the late 1800s. But what i can tell you is that this book and the photographs are in insanely good condition for their age. i wonder how it was stored. no dirt, dust, no signs of insect or rodent damage, water damage or mold. what a great find!
there’s an abandoned house near me and there was some really cool stuff in there but teenagers started going in and breaking everything or setting fire to things
THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN OR ABANDONED. This person outlived the rest of their family, they had no heirs, and then they died. The state will not rush in in cases like that for fear someone will come forward and claim the property... but it rarely happens. So the house and everything in it rots, and slowly gets taken by others... like this girl. IMHO its not stealing, in this case she clearly rescued them because they would have been ruined eventually.
Rather more sad our generations leave no photos behind...just files which get lost cause there is nothing special about them when you take 1000 selfies a day. Not to talk about compability, reading the files in few decades and stability where they are stored over very long time. Nothing lasts forever. But such old real pictures are better to store against enviromental influences.

Yeah ASMR on UA-cam had gotten so ridiculous lately with the magic hand waving and the whispered repetition of words. The best ASMR is unintentional, or semi-natural if intentional
The people in these photo albums must have been a fairly well off family and people with property. In the Victorian and Edwardian eras nice portrait photography was rather expensive and the people in the photos appear to be very well dressed, fashionable for the time and probably somewhat educated (the card that was opened was an enclosure card, which likely accompanied a gift that was so valued by the recipient that they kept the card.) Beautiful old photos--too bad the family they belonged to lost them.
56squadron why are you so mad? Also, in order to get it bound like this and to have so many done you would have had to have had a fairly large amount of disposable income, it’s really not a weird thing to posit. Certainly not weird enough for you to rant about, What is weird is how fucking hopped up about it you got. Chill out man, the world isn’t out to get you.
Not sure if that's interesting but I can date the albums! Note that the quality is not the best so it's kinda hard. The first one is actually older. The bigger photos are called Cabinet Cards, the smaller ones cartes de visite (CdVs). Most of the photos in the first album are from mid 1880. They have frizzy bangs and the gown is just slightly larger than the waist. She took out a photo from 1885 and you can see that the corners are rounded, which means it's from the 80s onwards. At 3:17 the CdVs are from the 60s or the 70s. It's kinda hard to tell because I can't clearly see the woman on top (Grandma Marie I think?). She has a middle parting with a low bun and a wide skirt and that's a look from the 60s mostly but it's not rare to see it in older women also in the 70s. The loose oval photo *looks like* from the Civil War Era, so first half of the 60s, but take this date with a grain of salt. It's a tintype (made of metal) and they were popular during the war. I can see that his cheeks were tinted (photographers could add some color if you paid extra). At 4:38 the girls on the top left SCREAM early 70s. The second album looks mostly from the 90s. It probably doesn't have a cover because it was made of celluloid (basically plastic). They were really fragile and since the album is in very bad shape, I'm not surprised it ripped apart. The guys wear bowties, the women have their hair up in elaborate hairstyles, the gowns were simple but the sleeves were BIG. The photo with the piece of fabric looks like from the 80s and it's possible that the fabric was attached because she died. At 11:36, yes the pictures have some nice borders... but they're memorial cards: they were made after they died (Note: they are NOT post-mortem pictures). 12:25, again mid 90s. 12:37, that's interesting, the card was attached to her probably because she died as well, and I'm pretty sure that's actually Lily. Sometimes photos were exchanged between family members or friends, so it's possible that Lily died and someone who had her photo attached a thank you card from her. 13:47, crazy collar, Gibson hairstyle, big sleeves: late 1890s. 14:06, top left, that looks like a hat with a bird on it. They were really popular in the late 90s up until 1918 when they were banned.

To me it's not very sad because death is coming for us all and it would be pretty scary if those people were still alive lol :P
Zebra Cakes who knows? 😂
Cari is such a sweet girl and has a beautiful soft voice. I just wish she had made more videos though.
10:38 my friends talking about me lmao
Does anyone have any other unintentional asmr video recommendations? Every once in a while you find one like this one that’s just amazing and it’s hard to find anything to top it. Any other recommendations. I’m finding I like the low quality videos a lot

@@flyingoniions thank you!
David Bull channel here in You Tube does it for me. It's a channel about Japanese Culture and his voice is a major trigger for me
@@flyingoniionshighly recommend her, I love her videos sm
She’s so cute
i wanna discover things like this!
this was one of my first asmr videos ever before we knew what it was old internet is the best
Absolutely amazing! I love old stuff like that.
This was among the first random triggers for me, years ago. Cheers!
She has a really familiar voice. Sounds like a voice actor, I can't tell.
Josh Hoffman Ellie from Last of Us?
Like Taylor Swift
She sounds a bit like Aubrey Plaza
Honey boo boo mother June? M'lady
Ariana Grande lol
She's so pretty 💕 this channel is a blessing
Such a great asmr video, so good. Thanks for finding this!
One of the best unintentional asmr videos. Thank you
How can she open those on her bed 😭 I was like oh nooooo girl you'll get bed bugsss
I came here for the old photo books! I love to see people from that era
I was nowhere ready for "this guy's got some cool eyes"
It's impossible not to love her 🐅
Fantastic find! I’m a genealogist. If you have the names of some of the people, it's surprisingly easy to research families nowadays. I do it all the time & would be happy to help.
Hi, I'm a bit late, but someone said that he found the name "Sadie Thompson".
You see, it's not that she doesn't treat the second album with proper care, she was just ripping the pages apart so she could show them individually.
Lol
I have a book like that in my house that has been in my family for years, I heard that pictures in those days were traded like trading cards so it was pretty common to see a wide variety of people in them.
God dammit! I wish she'd be more careful with those 130 year old artifacts!!!
Hamel that's all I was thinking the whole time! Especially with the 2nd book
I kept thinking the same!
They were left to rot anyway
Calm the hell down man, you are way too invested in some random dusty family scrapbooks.
The problem is that it is history, something we can show our children to tell how they lived and looked like.
2:48
3:01 I love how she flips it and it actually gave me tingles 4:59
She has the weeeirdest mannerisms, in the first video especially.
Cari Anne is adorable. Great video BTW.
If there is an historical society in the town, the photos could be donated to it
yay! thank you so much!
She looks so innocent 😊
Excellent. Pure asmr is unintentional asmr
Shes very cute. What a sweet girl.
Nice to see a young person who's interested in history and things outside her own lifetime. Rare these days.
Airviper 34 You'd be surprised, my family just thinks I watch UA-cam and movies all day when I actually spend half that time watching science and history documentaries and videos. my friends and I often go to museums and old ruins and explore. we just don't tell our parents cuz it's trespassing and kind of illegal. we don't smoked or drink there either. Also us teens think we're to cool to talk about the actual cool stuff we're interested in...
Airviper 34 not like back in your day eh Gary? But let’s not forget back in your day you had to send messages on the back of pigeons to talk to your mates in other countries lool
That’s not true at all lol
Limerence You would be concerned an oddball in society so that doesn’t count.
Limerence man I swear that sounds fun as hell, we don’t have any ruins here but We do have museums, they are definitely amazing.
Soy el comentario en español, estos videos de hace años eran los mejores, sin intención de hacer Asmr, simplemente tenían un toque relajante y curioso.. Me encantó, la chica es rara y me encanta jaja 😂☺️
So may tingles ******* thanks for posting!
spion23 and retrogametech make excellent accidental asmr videos
The duck though 🦆👀
The first ten seconds of her behaviour deeply unsettled me :(
DRAGONSLAYERIRL she’s making sure the disappearing mirror effect doesn’t happen through a camera and you can in fact see her, moral is she’s a vampire this is her family
It was freaky
because?
@phostime She is probably socially awkward and *_extremely_* anxious
Idk, I found it kinda cute tbh
Can people just stop judging her because she seems a bit unusual? And if you can't help yourself try using the word "authentic".
shes so strange im in love with her
plainly Im pretty that's what she was going for...oh look at how strange and weird I am, aren't I so cute? Ya know, that whole thing. It's fake.
@@sarahhemlock dont be a debbie downer
@@sarahhemlock What, so you think this girl who is genuinely interested in these artifacts is trying to be quirky and weird? Okay..
@@sarahhemlock
You ok?
Sarah Hemlock
no I think she is just socially awkward stop fucking crying because you’re jealous it’s not a cute look.
She's absolutely beautiful 😍
Amber Love you're absolutely beautiful
3:20 That guy looks like Will Pouter
She reminds me of boxxy
Boxxy you see, you see!
That was an awesome find. I'm intrigued by the past. Thanks
Some of the second one's pictures are death photos. Families would take prop up dead family members and take pictures with them frequently during that era. Morbid, but interesting.
Nobody looks dead in second 1. Too much expression in their faces
@@amberhansen3806 second 1? you mean 2?
i don't see any comments about how cute and pretty the girl is...
Everytime she handled the second one roughly my archivist soul died a little
@best unintentional asmr this ine is one of my favorites. The asmr is amazing but so is her love for abandoned houses. Thank you.
I love this sort of thing . I thought it was very interesting that she had shared with us on what she had found..... 💙💟💚💖💛❣
Love this so soothing 😊
8:40 she is so cutely awkward 🙃
I love this. I love old albums. Exciting!❤
The stamps on those envelopes might be worth something?
Echt faszinierend wie gut erhalten diese Bilder sind.
This type of video that used to trigger my asmr before thw name ASMR was given to it. Show and tell sort of stuff thats is softspoken and recorded on a laptop webcam/mic
Most ASMR is just ridiculous now for the most part. I still look for stuff like this.
Aww she is so freaking adorable
