Hi George, thanks for the comment, much appreciated. I have no playing experience of a Modern Player P but probably not too dissimiliar from a standard P neck dimensions. Cheers!
Hi Brian, yes there are side position markers. The BBP models are 'less production line' and more 'hand fettled', with a higher 'quality level'... if you can play both, you'll notice the difference fairly rapidly. But the BBP models are very nice across the board. But if you're budget is limited the BB734A is a fine instrument.
I'm not sure that I've ever had a TRBX604 in my hands but the BB734 is a different design, although the EQ may be similar, Google the specifications for both basses and compare them.
Contact you regional Yamaha distributor and see if they can advise you of any locations that may stock either bass for you to try. Either option will be a good instrument, Yamaha generally don't produce sub-standard basses.

@BrooksysBassCorner thanks for the reply. How would you rate the bb734 vs a trbx 604?
Thank you for your time .
There are no music stores that have the Yamaha bass in stock so any feedback helps with the comparisons if bb734 vs trbx 604
