    Round out the edges on that entry table. Dremel the corners so you don’t tear up your hips coming in and out. Looks great, lots of fun to come!

    Got a ice house about the same size. Never mind the rattle reels, go with the line alarms. They are the cats meow! Much more fun catching them on rod and reel. Just need to install some rod holders.

    I’d put a light under the shelf , above the holes by the stove. (Night fishing)
    Spot light too shine down all holes also.
    99% complete without them.
    Once completed with them , 100% Awesome !!!

    I have a 10x20 permanent ice house up in Alberta, Canada, a few things that I like having are ....a 5 gallon pail for clearing out hole slush, rod storage rack, some storage bins for under the bed for odds and ends that accumulate, coat hangers are nice, some folding rv/ boat cup holders, rattle reels, a couple folding TV tables can be handy, a fan on the roof or corner pointing down to move some air on the floor to heat/dry the floor they have some great rechargeable option you can get off amazon, maybe look at a Jackery as a quiet power option.

    They make foldable drink holders you can mount to the wall. I would put one on each side of the couch, you can fold them flat against the wall when not in use but fold down so you have a spot to put the drinks

    If you grab a portable AC, folding table, deck chairs, 12v fridge, a grill and a pull out awning for over the door, it'll double nicely as a caravan for summer camping.

    It would be cool to put a pull out drawer in the space under the beds, just to keep stuff a little more organized, and on the shelf by the door you could put a garbage can in there and cover it with a black cupboard door to make it look nice

    Might not be needed, but not bad to add a middle support piece below the bottom bunk. Sucks to put it in the way, but hate to have the board giveaway with people sitting/sleeping on the couch. Fan under the front shelf to move heat is a good thing and rattle reels all around. Love that you kept the middle open, little table next to the door may get in the way loading gear in and out. Overall great job making it yours and updating it.

    You should add an ironing board style table on hinges to the side of the little table you made beside the door. You can fold it down to still make use
    Of the hole beside it, but then fold it out with a support stick and you have more room for preparing food etc..

    Awesome build but you need a space to put a microwave for your pizzas in and for a small little propane stove and possibly a refrigerator or space for cooler also maybe 2 small fold up camping chairs and camping tables you can hang up when not using. right on Amazon Im telling you smell table and chairs dont take up much room. Thought of bean chairs but would take up to much space

    Very nice work. I like the ceilings a lot with the trim pieces and that jackknife couch is awesome. I would want to figure out a way to cook easier in it if it was mine. Even if you just had a setup over the heater that would allow you to cook, but have a vent stack or some side venting with a fan, too. I don't know how to do it either. You'd have to employ Justin again.Or create another shelf/surface under a window that suits a cooktop or camp stove for frying fish. I don't know, boys. Other than some rod holders on the ceiling or walls, rattle reels, that's about it for now. Go slay 'em in comfort!

    Very nice looking build. With regards to the sensor, I would also add a gas detector to your setup. This is a little different and should be used in combination with the sensor you have. I got mine mine on a certain large online retailer, the brand I went with is Pangaea. This will detect a propane leak, which your current sensor would not. Just a suggestion and something that new wheelhouses come with. They even have them in black which would match your look. Great build all around.

    • @spacedaddy5517
      @spacedaddy5517 11 місяців тому

      Yeah or a black paint for the wooden surfaces.

  • @spacedaddy5517
    @spacedaddy5517 11 місяців тому

    I think you should turn the table stand into a garbage can, could put some epoxy pond liner or waterproofing inside, paint it and use that as the garbage can, so you can clean it out. Or just throw a bag in there and small door, you don't have to waterproof the door.
    Next time I would use some lag bolts for the 2x4 construction, just so it's super strong and sturdy, then you could throw a bunch of heavy things on the shelves in case. The difference is a shelf that supports maybe 500 -600 pounds, or like 3,000 pounds, obviously one is stronger, the 2x4's are not the weak link. Another of my favorite fasteners are concrete wedge anchors, these hold anything, we use them in construction all the time. This is what is holding your life when you step on a elevator or some type of rail system, hundreds of those. Helps to understand this before you make something, I know that I can always use stronger fasteners.
    If you have a brick or concrete wall, you can mount just about anything on there, even a car. Concrete block walls are just so much stronger than wood framing, I don't even want to build anything out of wood framing to be honest. I don't even know why we use drywall, I see it as garbage material people use to get flat walls, it makes your home dusty and gross though. It's time we stop using it, like asbestos. If you start with a concrete slab and walls, it makes a bathroom or kitchen just so much easier to build, you don't have to worry about mold or mildew at all. The most expensive thing is labor, brick or wood looks better anyways.

    You need to add a metal plate to the under side of your storage shelf. The heat rising from the heater will burn the wood. Once it catches fire, it will be too late for whomever is around that end of the cabin.
