His stay in prison was interspersed with periods of self-reflection, which he later characterized as a watershed moment in his life.

Tim Allen was in prison in the early 1980s and his stardom was afterward. Robert Downey Jr. turned his life around before the Iron Man movies. Wesley Snipes has been out since 2013. Mike Tyson was in prison decades ago. This is not the meaning of the word "currently".

Downey was treated with kid gloves.Anyone else caught driving recklessly with hard narcotics and a firearm would spend the next decade in prison, Downey went to AA meetings while people were still rotting from Ronald McReagan's "War On Drugs" campaign when drug charges were harder than murder.
It helped that he married a woman who had power to restore his career...

Huge difference between R.Kelly/ 30 years and Lindsey Lohan with a DUI and a little drug use. Lots of people drink and use one drug or several. She just happened to get caught. BUT. She is not rotting away in jail. Also, jail and prison are two totally different places to do time.

So idle time is the time of challenge not to end up in Jail with crimes done. Psychological aspect is mindset "earned lot of money so they think can get away with money".
