wao, there is so many haters "trukk not munky" here, why you don´t return from under the rocks where did no one call? Beast Wars is the best Transformers series with Transformers Animated. The good plot, amazing character development and script give us the reason
I still miss Transformers: Prime. That show did a good job of combining design elements from previous TF shows as well as the live action films. Very few people thought that that was possible. Optimus Prime even got an upgrade which made him beefier than a 2-pound steak. Glad that I bought his toy at a discount back in 2014.
Tony the Chang It was considered too mature for their target audience and lost funding so the money could go to the Bayverse films. Optimus’s upgrades were cool but his head became so teeny tiny it looked bad. But overall, Prime is my favorite. Really disappointed Beast Wars hit number 1. Show is ugly, ain’t even about the Autobots and Decepticons, and the story didn’t have much drive. G1 has much better animation, more engaging characters because we got to see some of them on a deeper level in specific episodes (like when Tracks made a human friend or Powerglide got his human girlfriend)

I missed out on Beast Wars growing up. I watched a few clips, yes, but never got attached to the series. Prime, on the other hand, felt much more accessible, looked better, and was a love letter to G1 fans as well. Speaking of which, I still love Prime's upgrade from season 3.
G1, Prime, and animated are my favorite ones. They are also the ones I remember the best

Transformers Prime is by far the best and my favorite. It had a lot of story in it. A lot. They had actual backgrounds to each character and it felt a lot more like what I would think a war between two factions of robots while trying to hide on Earth would be while keeping all the action. They also had other humans actually fighting the Autobots and managed to make a Transformer, albeit not fully antonymous. And Megatron was a total stud. Optimus Prime also was a stud. These two even had a history in which Megatron wanted be a prime, but didn’t become one so he started the war on Cybertron. For so long I thought it was over Energon and resources, but then this was revealed and made the whole story so much more interesting. And it only continued from there.
Right! Also am I the only one who thinks of all transformers tv shows in prime they actually look metal
Read the Transformers Prime books and they explain the entire backstory of the series. Emperor Kumquat has some great videos on that.
Prime will always be my favorite with all due respect to Beast Wars and the 80s cartoon.

In my opinion, Transformers Prime is the best Transformers series. Don't get me wrong, the original Transformers and Beast Wars are awesome, but to me Transformers Prime feels and looks different, in a really badass way. It trully gives the viewers meaning and deep though into them. Optimus, Megatron and the other characters feel so realistic in this series, in other series they seem just giant robots who can turn in2 vehicles, but in Prime they feel like actual aliens who lost their home from an endless war. It truly feels like the Earth is about to go into chaos, whether it's from Megatron and his minions, Starscream with his own vendetta, or even when Predaking or Unicron attack.

It also had some kd the hypest Transformers moments ever, and some excellent story arcs. It's even better when you play the Cybertron games, and see the war that tore Cybertron apart.

Lynch Maker if you like the list, fine by me. But they did no research for this list. Energon has awful visuals and animation. G1 is terrible by today's standards, and only holds up through nostalgia (I still love it though). Cybertron's animation is slightly cleaner, but still as clunky and awful as energon's.

Michael I have no problem with you michael.I grew up with all of them as well but beast wars went where no transformers series went and I dont think they have yet again by have a deep and heavy complex story and also filled in plot holes G1 never covered and also brought a dead franchise back to life that would still probably be dead if it wasnt for beast wars bringing it back to life. im just jumping on these beast wars hatters because I bet more then 70% never watched an episode or at the very lest the first two which is not a good enough reason to give a hate to a saga or any series spin offs.you have to watch it all the way threw to give a true honest opinion or people will just ignore them and see them as trolls because they didnt give a full and fair chance to shine. I was 8 when I started watching beast wars but I could understand what was going on in the story and how great was and some cheesy episode to sell more toys which almost every episode G1 pretty much was >.>

EveryThingThatsAwesome 13 well dinobot was a character's name, white in G1 it referred to grimlock and his group. All though in all honesty my favorite version of Grimlock was Fall of Cybertron's take on him, and while he was based off of G1, he was a transformer that was turned into a dinobot instead of being created from scratch.
Transformers Armada. Oh god yes my childhood. And Prime in my later life.
I wasn’t born yet when Armada came out, but I did get to watch it on the internet a few times when I was younger. That, and my parents and I would rent the dvd for Energon from blockbuster. But Armada is far better I’ll admit, and holds a special place in my heart

Same. The visuals are really bad and the characters are so annoying. Besides nothing beats the original. Especially Peter Cullen and Frank Welker's iconic voices make the shows, beast wars/machines' lead voice actors didn't really help make the characters as beloved.

Cybertron I think was a major upgrade to Energon, both in terms of animation and story wise, I remember back then people praised it, even though it was not perfect nor terrible, the show has a special place in my heart as my first ever transformers series, on par with Animated and Prime, for me.

I was disappointed with the theme of that show. At first I was all "yeah man, this is pretty catchy, oh here comes my favourite part of the theme...." and then some out of nowhere British accent popped up and sung out of tune and out of beat and out of time and I cringed.
I found the Japanese version much less cringy. In cybertron, there were parts where the intro theme didn't fit into the transformation sequences, and a whole lot of redundant dialogue in an atyempt to not bore the audience. Even though you'd be reduced to reading subtitles Galaxy Force has that magic that makes the show so great. An example is the finals of the planet cup race, cybertron just feels off there. Just my 2 cents
Beast Wars is always gonna be THAT Transformers series. It's the one series that dared to be different in ways previous series hadn't really dared to. The way it put it's characters at the heart and centre of their own universe and developed characters through their own motives rather than an attachment to these tiny human's they've grown attached to, made every single one of it's powerful have an impact. It's the reason so many fans love it but also why so many hate it and that's a damn shame.
Personally Cybertron is my favourite but Beast Wars is special in it's own right and being different shouldn't by default make something hated or bad.
Yeah I liked Cybertron a lot. It was a short series but every single one of it's characters were memorable to me and it really delivered a lot in a short space of episodes. I also rated Coby for being the one human in the entire series who could actually do something as an engineer.
Actor Adam Anouer Any show that would get kids indoors to see it was a classic. Back in the day you were on punishment if you couldn't go out to play with your friends. Beast Wars was one of those shows everybody had to see.
+Actor Adam Anouer, I agree. Beast Wars is what got me into Transformers in the first place. I was more interested in animals than vehicles when I was growing up, so the dynamics of animal forms reeled me in like a prize trout. Beast Wars also touched on concepts like determining one's own destiny, the worth of a person's actions, and the sacrificing of one's humanity to achieve a goal.
Dinobot was my favorite character in the whole series who broke the mold of the traitor who would be leader: his aspirations became more focused on protecting time, achieving his dream of an honorable death, and making peace with his past betrayals. Despite his warrior's demeanor, he became a complex character who displayed a viking/samurai-like sense of honor, which was a rarity back before the anti-hero became such a commonly used character mold. He lived a warrior and died a hero. His death made Season 2 actually feel dark.

Chronos012 Alright, okay then. That is your honest opinion and I respect that. I am actually currently watching that series on a boxset at the moment, so let's just agree to disagree on Cybertron and leave it there. I don't want a massive argument to break out so I will settle this peacefully.
Transformers Prime is that rare time when the best animation, the best voice cast, the best characters, and the best fight scenes all come together at once! The franchise will never have a better show than this!

Dalek Seth well, Beast Machines, Animated and even Armada have also a lot of adult writting, dark tone and something much better, a lot of character development
I just prefered primes writting, i feel the episodes where better written and i loved starscreams character development.
I also do love beast wars just prefer prime and its such a shame that the 4 season was canceled along with the big screen film that was planned.
actually it can be said that Beast Wars had way more adult writing than Prime did. Death, inner demons, sacrificing yourself, proving to yourself you can change, dealing with your team mates that dont trust you (but to find out they really were ur best friends in the end) and of course, honoring heroes that lost their life (MAIN CHARACTERS, not like Cliffjumpers death in Prime that was in the show for like 2 mins)

I feel like Armada had a good source anime, but a bad translation. Cybertron had a bad source anime, but a good translation. Energon had a terrible source and somehow an even worse translation. In the end, it feels like that trilogy ranges from good to okay, with just the worst crammed in the middle with Energon. I feel like Armada would be a great, though not the best, TF show if it had a translation that matched the quality of the Cybertron dub.
I loved Armada and Cybertron. Just Energon seemed redundant often and stretched out. The toys were fun though. I love the Unicron Trilogy, I just much much prefer Armada and Cybertron over Energon.

There was also 2 shows continuing off the beast wars series in Japan. Beast Wars II and Neo. I’d also consider Robots in disguise(2015) due to bumblebee’s development into becoming something of a prime. Not to mention the return of Starscream’s g1 style return and one of my favorite characters Cyclonus.

Arcee you forgot to mention the characters were well written. TF PRIME was trying to be dark like Beast Wars was. Beast Wars did it first. The episode where Dinobot dies is one of the greatest episodes in Transformers history. I can't say that for Prime. though the characters were good.

I don't exactly blame them, though(except for Energon). Because Transformers fans always debate on which show fits where. General consensus makes it obvious that the best Transformers shows are G1, Beast Wars, Animated, and Prime. But in terms of deciding which show comes even remotely close to those four, shit goes crazy between the fans.
(srsly though, why is energon even on this list?)
At the very least, Energon gave fans some awesome toys and an interesting character in Scorponok. Beyond that, though, it could only be called stupid.

Transformers Cybertron was my first transformers show and my favorite transformers show.
Would've liked to see Armada one spot higher, but number 5 is still decent. If you get past the Minicons and humans, Armada has some really good character development and is darker than it appears to be.
Still one of my favorite Starscreams. I'll never forgive Energon for mindwiping all of the Armada Decepticons.

the last half of Armada was pretty good, it's a struggle to get through that first half though, still irritated that they nitpicked the animations errors in Armada and gave Energon a pass, also how Energon is so high on the list is just baffling
Armada, and Energon kind of tie with me. Cybertron was too flashy, and kiddy for me. Not that the other two weren't, but Cybertron was just too much more of it. I know this isn't G1 Prime, and Megatron, but since this was a trilogy, sort of, even the Megatron of Armada, and Energon would just simply, absolutely not join in a race for,,,,, well, any reason. It grew old very fast, for my taste

I was one of those that really dislikes the artistic design of Animated. I'm an artist, and prefer realism. The designs were just too distracting for me personally. It was like The Lion King looking like Rockey and Bullwinkle.
I remember that one short where the kid asks Optimus where his trailer goes when he's not in alt-mode.

Well as a kid from India our only source for watching such great anime was Toonami - A small section that had anime shows on CN.
