Unicron VS Galactus!
Umm I will get the Mikaela Banes
Sadly the live action movies are the second worse thing that Transformers have ever done. Because KISS players exist. Where little girls kiss giant robots on the lips. And Starscream possesses a human and pees on himself. Before trying to kill people while going commando. And the worst part is that KISS players is considered canon.
The animated side.
the transformers live action
Live action or animated. If Peter Cullen still manages to voice Optimus, it’s good
Gary Chalk is close second as Prime and Optimus Primal
Facts!! 👏🏽
PREACH
Yes
Agreed.
I personally think Transformers Prime is the best hands down in story, action, twists, and animation style.
I gotta agree. It stripped away most of the campiness of the original, gave the fights real stakes, incorporated Unicron as the threat that he truly deserved to be, and had a better overarching story. The fact that they actually killed off characters and didn’t use bs to revive Optimus Prime and Megatron. Optimus was resuscitated almost immediately after he died and megatron used dark energon to revive himself (once by using it alongside a cordial psychic patch and the second time was Unicron’s doing)
Transformers prime will always go down as the best Tf show and my personal fav, it’s less campy unlike G1, great fight scenes that are not just bots shooting, Great storylines and the designs which are awesome
@@docvoygx3788 that and most characters stay dead
@@jakealter5504 yes: e.g. dreadwing, breakdown, Silas (first time a human died onscreen), Cliffjumper
Agreed.
G1 may be a classic,
But Prime is just a whole lot more different and whole lot more unique than some of the previous TF generations.
Same can be said for Animated as well.
This shouldn't even be a question fans are legitimately asking themselves
Q
Everyone is a villain in the live action movies. It's basically Warhammer 40K. Only stupid instead of stupid awesome.
They are obviously gotta go with animated.
I know Transformers fans all too well.(and I'm also a Transformers fan)
Live action action is better, and animated stories and characters are better
It’s obviously the animated ones but the live action are also very cool aswell
I think the Beeverse (or knightverse) that started with Bumblebee and continues with Rise of the Beasts is by far one of the best. I loved it mainly because, as someone who grew up with the GOAT that is Transformers Prime, seeing Arcee get a spotlight role as part of the main Autobot cast even if she wasn’t the MAIN Autobot means so much to me. Another thing that I love is the built on weapons in the Beeverse that have been carried over from Prime.
I love the original Transformers action and I love the animated action but Transformers Prime really hit it out the park. We got the best of both worlds but it felt like a live-action but also it was still animated I mean even the sound effects were on point but I still prefer the live action action sequences
I like both live-action and animated series of The Transformers series when I was a kid. Growing up in the 2000s was fun. But The Transformers will always be one of my favorite franchises of all time
With the Animated Series they not only make their characters more complex they know what the balance is not only focus on the human protagonist or the robots they know how to interweave it so that everyone is important I mean look what they did with Transformers Animated and Sari. Perfect example they focus on the robots and even though she was a side character she was still just as important as they were because when it came to them dealing with the Soundwave and they were mind-controlled she was the one who brought them out of the control.
War for Cybertron Trilogy was underrated.
it was rated
I say it was rated fairly. Certainly wasn't the best but definitely not the worst either
@@shadowprime0249agreed. I think some of the writing especially in Earthrise and Kingdom could've been better and while those two are decent, it doesn't really hold a candle to Siege. I think Siege is the best one in the trilogy, mainly because of the writing (not perfect but still pretty good in my opinion) and it's honestly way better than Earthrise and Siege.
@@dragonfire4527I just watched the season 3 named « Kingdom » and I was amazed about how it showed the complexity of the relationship between Autobots and Deceptions or even between Predacons such as Blackarachnia ( my favorite❤) and Maximals . In comparison, in the firsts movies from 2007 to 2017, it is just fights and killing without any real purpose in sight.
I also noticed that the charakters in animations are better because of their personality and their own stories
If you ask me, BOTH versions are very iconic, regardless of whoever helps make this franchise EXTREMELY successful! Big Shoutout to the voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen! Love ‘ya, dude!
When it comes to storytelling and proper character development on the autobots and decepticons, I always looked at the animated Transformers first. I hope that the live action movies can learn from that. Beast Wars and Transformers Prime have both left an impression on me that I'll never forget.
I do like that the latest movie actually have the Transformers as characters and humans don't always take the spotlight.
Lockdown I had first heard about him in the Animated Series so you can imagine I saw this as an Improvement on his character not to mention the guy can literally form his sniper out of his face that is the coolest thing I've ever seen 😆😆😆😆
That's actually really cool I never knew that about Transformers Prime it won several Daytime Emmy Awards and a nomination for writing. This is what I was saying I feel like it did very well and I think Michael Bay notice that. That's probably one of the reasons why Unicron was teased as part of the earth because they did it right. But they did it differently they actually talked about dark Energon that's what really made it good in my opinion
Obviously the animated one is gonna win. But damn the cgi in the bay movies , set pieces, and budget are great. Freeway scene, forest fight, and damn bruh them scenes in the first movie with the police car sounds, got me into cars. Them first 3 baymovies were great except story characters etc
Unicron, now that I think about it, is kind of like Transformers version of Galactus
Because originally he was. For the animated movie,Marvel borrowed Galactus and made a robot version of him, thus Unicron.
Bayverse Optimus is one of my personal favorite incarnations of Optimus Prime. The murders he did made him so Mortal Kombat-ish.
Megatron was right when it came to the Bayverse.
That is pretty much the problem with Bayverse Optimus Prime. He's supposed to be the Transformers' Captain America, not a robot Mortal Kombat fighter.
But that's not what he is supposed to be
The thing is, That isn't optimus prime
@@FamilyGuySoundwaveit is but that version was less pacific that the version in Transformers Prime, the one of the Michael Bays movie is more of a broken hero war who doesn’t believe in pacifism anymore and although he swore to NOT kill humans, he had to broke that rule in “Age of extinction” . The movie “Transformers : Rise of the beast” on the other hand showed Optimus and the Autobots are stuck on planet earth for seven years since the end of years 1980 and in this one, Optimus still try to fit in his leadership role beside be frustrated to lost the war and desperate to repair his home Cybertron. That movie REALLY explore the evolution of that character just as the movie “Bumblebee” really explored the evolution and the sensitivity of the yellow Autobots. Sure , the previous movies from 2007 to 2017 make us feel empathetic for Bee when we saw his friendship with Sam Witwiky then Cade Yeager and his family but aside from that, the other Autobots didn’t get much screen times before “Bumblebee” and his sequel . We can’t even remember their names or even distinguish which ones are from the original HASBRO toys and from the tv show “Generation 1”, so despite from Ratchet and Ironhide, why would we feel anything when they bite the dust or just disappear ??
No matter which one we watch, they're still more than meets the eye
2:07 yo I remember this one this is what Transformers Cybertron? Omigod you taking me back. Back in the days when I actually was really into Transformers and I remember when I first saw jet Optimus I used to actually try and sketch him and I could never get it right
I’m glad that the first live action Transformers movie exists, because I don’t often favor the older cartoons. Unfortunately, the sequels got much ridiculous. Still, if it weren’t for the first film, I wouldn’t like Transformers more.
........ Especially with Skids & Mudflap!
Transformers and Ninja Turtles will always be better animated than Live Action.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990 not included
The new animated movie from the studio whom did the live action film is coming really soon and I can’t wait for it.
@Adam Pellett I actually don't think the new animated tmnt film will be that good. But the new Transformers movie sounds pretty good.
Yeah they managed to do something different with designs in the live-action and I mean even Arcee maintains her color pink but she was certainly looks really cool being on one wheel and using a sword
The only time I've heard about quintessa at least with the older cartoons I think that was the planet or I heard about the quintessons because they have those heads that spin around and they talk based on which head is in front. So when I saw quintessa again I thought that was pretty well done
I agree that the characters weren't as fleshed-out in the live-action but I did love crosshairs and Leadfoot and of course the one with the beard in the fourth one
The one with the beard is Hound.
@@jeuryrabassa4724 yes Hound that's the one he's hilarious they could have done so much more with him
Transformers prime had the best Optimus prime depiction ever, they showed how is true leader and true what a prime is suppose to be, doesnt lose composure and doesnt lose his cool despite whatever pinch sitution hes and the team are and willing to put himself 1st before others, the movie optimus prime is straight gangsta and brutal, not very prime like in my opinion
I just disagree on one thing: design.
I agree that it doesn't have to be the exact same thing over and over again, but it must have something that gives the bot it's identity. Example: Optimus's design on Age of Extinction and The Last Knight. Put his new design side by side along with his own design from the first movie and what could you say that it's the same character? Put his new design side by side with the character's design from TF Prime, could you say it's the same character? I have doubts. Because even if you know it's said character, his design in the last two movies of the Bay franchise were so diferent, were so little in the "mechanic aspect" that anyone couldn't say that it has the essence of Optimus Prime.
However, if you take his design from the Bumblebee movie of even from Rise of the Beasts, anyone - and I say ANYONE - will say "Look, it's Optimus Prime!" -- it has the colours, the robotic design, the same aspects that make him imposing, and everything else. We can say that that figure is a robot that turns into a truck, and that he's a leader. Same thing for his design in TF Prime. While in Age of Extinction and The Last Knight...well, it's a beautiful design, but doens't has that identity of Optimus Prime. It's just a cool robot with a sword and shield. Just that.
That's why I would count a +1 for the animations. Again: I agree that it doesn't have to be the same exact thing, but it has to evoke the identity of the character.
As for the other negative aspects of the design , in the Michael Bay’s movie from 2007 to 2017 with less screen times to develop each Autobots and Decepticons , we could barely recognize Ironhide, Arcee, Sideswipe or even Soundwave and Starscream.
I first noticed Transformers when I saw toy commericals inspired by the anime adaptations; the title font for the word "Transformers" is what really drew me in.
Of course the Animated is better. Always has been.
only thing the live action had over, was it's special effects on all the robot dudes when they changed or moved.
Transformers prime is the best tf show ever.... everyone should agree ...the emotion the story the music everything was perfect
Not to mention it was inspired by the live action films.
Except of course, a lot better.
Obviously.
G1 is better
@@Unknown_user330.0no
It seems like you said. With each new Transformers live action movie (at least with the Michael Bay films) he had a certain quota of explosions and big battles he had to meet.
good job about The Best of Live Actoon vs Animated from Transformers
I mean recently I was just browsing Snapchat and I found movie scenes clip regarding Transformers 3 when they were dealing with the dreads and the caption was "Transformers best fight scene"
I should also say that shortly before age of Extinction came out I discovered this one animator who can really animate Transformers in a cartoon-esque look and he does something called short flash series. He basically took all of the scenes in the live-action an animated every single robot to my knowledge and they're transforming scenes and also their attack scenes as well his name is Osro I believe I saw him in 2015 when I saw he did amazing animations for it so if you want to check those out that's his name
Just guessing: Bayverse Prime takes fights and whatnot, mah G1 boy takes an awful lot of the rest of it all.
Lets put it this way, both versions died at some point. Only one of them basically traumatized the kids watching it.
no flipping way when i clicked on this an ad for Transformers came on with Peter Cullen!!!!!
I know that Unicron was teased in the last knight I feel like what Michael Bay was doing was trying to capitalize off of Transformers Prime because that one had Unicron in the Earth. And that one did amazing he just didn't execute it as well
If you think the live action has anything over animated besides action sequences you're insane and clearly never tried to actually watch the shows. Animated actually spends the time to cater to every character's story and development with so many interesting and fun plot twists, not to mention lore depth. Live action just retcons itself every step of the way while simultaneously paying far too much time on the humans and not the bots, giving little character, story or personality to anyone, but maybe Optimus or Bumblebee.
The villains are really well done in live-action I mean if you ask me if I watch The Animated Generation 1 and Prime and any other thing I wouldn't have heard about the Fallen for example. All the others I would have heard about from the older ones but I would have first heard it from the movies so like Devastator is a perfect example he was in the older cartoon and in newer versions and now in the live-action as well coincidentally also had gotten a toy based on the Constructicons for Christmas one time and I didn't realize because I didn't know beforehand but that was actually the Constructicons and Devastator because they could actually be used and formed into Devastator.
They seems well done but just not fully developed in live action until the reboot « Bumblebee » and its sequel « Rise of the Beasts »
OK, honestly I have to say that I'm thankful that Bee was made, and that Rise of the Beasts is now out, as the 2 prequels have retconned the original Bay movies wiping them completely out. The Bay movies hurt my head when it came to background, like Bee being with the Allied forces during WW2, when Bee was the only Autobot on Earth at the start of the original Transformers (with the exception of Megatron crashing on Earth during the Ice Age). So yeah, who ever was writing the Bay movies gave me a headache with how everything was written and I think that they were expecting folks not to notice. Well we noticed.
Both are amazing. Transformers always makes me smile :)
The dude is passing 80 and optimus still holds up
For me? Animated is better on average. Though I acknowledge awesomeness from both.
In the animated they forgot to mention Skye byte from transformers robots in disguise 2001 series he's epic and quite terrifying
"We doubt any live action version of this villain could do him justice"
Ever heard of Rise of the Beasts? I haven't seen it yet but Unicron looks menacing.
Love it so good
7:58 this unicron bit isn’t gonna age well
Thank For The Video 🙊🤯💐💖💞🥰
Bumblebee is the only live action Transformers movie that has a fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s my favorite movie in the series.
do other live action vs animation
Prime, and beast wars were both epic.
To be fair TF RotB, does a pretty good portrayal of Unicorn
I’m more on the animated series of Transformers. Besides, I used to watch Beast Wars on YTV in Canada! Did anyone else see that on that Canadian kids tv channel in the glory days??
Well worst part about love action Transformers is that.... They can't stay still.... Always jumping around...
I really loved the original animated series and the Bayverse Live Action Transformers, I really loved the Live Action Optimus Prime, Michael Bay made him look badass, and the classic animated series still stole my heart ever since I was a kid 😉😁
Unicron VS Galactus! Transformers VS Marvel!
Fun fact: Marvel originally handled the comic books for Transformers.
I love the action sequences in the live-action I like when they slow mo. those are some cool moments. Regarding the animated it's all right for its time
7:38 clearly this was recorded before rotb
I don’t care what anybody say, Transformers Prime will always and forever be the greatest Transformers project of all time
The animated version deserves the win, also I prefer the G1 designs more, remember how horrendous Skids, Mudflap, and Wheelie's designs were?
For designs I think they nailed every autobot up to hot rod and bungled the Deceptacon‘s look too much gray not enough colour
I mean there is like 25 times more screen time on animated so they have more bad and good things. I would say they are pretty equal because some shows was not that great
On design, live action was just too noisy. Too complicated where more then 80% of the cast you could barely tell the silhouette apart. If they could make them more fluid instead of moving 10 peices of the muffler to ten different spots and such the live action could of been good on designs. The only reason they use optimus prime and bumblebee so much is at least you can SEE them in the fight and tell which of them is fighting I do not know, maybe a deceptacon, or is it an autobot...
Exactly this. I think they just wanted to artificially make the score closer, to increase the suspense. The jaggedy, can't-tell-what-I'm-looking-at Bay designs are one of the biggest criticisms of the live franchise. They definitely course-corrected that with the Bumblebee film, but it's less a win for Live, since it's simply mimicking the Animated, like we've been asking them to do for years.
Exactly. They only gave the character designs to live action to keep the countdown close. Toon should have blown live action out of the water 4 to 1 with live action only taking away the action sequences.
Under the heroes category, it was a battle between movies and series, series will always win when it comes to fleshing out and utilizing characters. So it's a win for the series format and not the animation format
Transformers Prime reignited my love for the franchise, especially the very first episode where we were reintroduced to some old favorites with some new aesthetically pleasing designs. The Bots and Cons personalities we're really fleshed out. Heh. And we're introduced to Jack Darby, your working class teenage average Joe who gets drawn into the Autobots conflict because he got a little handsy with Arcee while proclaiming his love; unknowingly to her. They never follow up on that, unfortunately.
I ship Jackcee.
Wanna fight about it? No? Then end of discussion.
I feel like Depending on which shows that Bayverse can't even compare to animated.
I didn't mind the design some of them more interesting I liked sideswipe for example I like the ones that have wheels for feet those were very interesting, unique. I even like Optimus's flames design but you just can't top the original red and blue look
I do like both cause it shows the growth of the transformers in general.😊
Transformers Prime: Megatron vs The Insecticon or Megatron vs Predaking is all you need to know
6:49 That means Quintessa is Optimus Prime's mom! If you build a robot, you're technically its parents.
Quintessa was lying to Optimus. Lockdown said to Optimus that he was created by multiple creators
@@phantomhd7889 Then Optimus Prime has a lot of moms and dads. Like he was born in some Islamic harem.
@@pervertedstoner69reborn70 he was built.
Honestly Transformers 2007 was a decent start for the live action movies but it went downhill since
I love both ❤💙
7:35 My brother in Christ he was in Rise of the Beasts
If its not optimus or bumblebee you barely can even tell who's fighting who in live action, especially with how many explosions are happening. If you put more than just a small mention of Beast Wars on this list, because you did exactly what Rise Of The Beasts did and barely mention them at all, this list would be a lot higher on the animation win.
Beast Wars backgrounds may have aged poorly when not inside any ships, but the story telling and voice acting still beats out anything the live action movies do and most of the animated transformers series of today. Though the animated series we get now are worthy and pretty good shockingly.
The animated side is better to me!
It always has been.
Way too obvious.
Not mentioning the Unicron Trilogy is a sin
If dark energon creates zombies, won't knockout failed experiment make them a hybrid of a zombies and vampires ?
I think they did that though because didn't they have him try to do synthetic Energon mixed with dark Energon for Silas and breakdown and it was kind of like a vampire and a zombie at the same time?
The (G1) animated series always wins because of the original Star Scream (voiced by Chris Latta, also voice of Cobra Commander)
Bro’s saying live action cannot make unicron but they literally just did it
8:29 the most important villain - Megatron.
Bro what? The best villain is Lockdown
WatchMojo: *shows video of Transformers: Live Action Vs Animated Series*
Me:"Guys, this is Transformers we'll talking about here, most people (as well as most TF fans) are obviously gotta go with the original animated series over the live action films all the time."
"There's literally no contest."
"Although,
If there is at the very least an actual good thing about the live action films,
Is they atleast give the idea of making both Transformers Animated and Transformers Prime."
"Cause both animated series were actually based and inspired by The live action films."
Bumblebee is the only reason live-action had a prayer in the number 5 category, if it was just the Michael Bay movies Animated would've won with a flawless victory. All of Bay's movies sucked, Bumblebee is the only good one.
Comparing live action to animation on such items as fights and such isn't a fair comparison
TV has far greater restrictions placed on it and even if put on cable they aren't allowed to do certain items
You mean animated vs animated. Nothing is actually live action anymore.
I grew up in the metal against respectfully it pending on environment and fans can see who's fighting
Well today's heroes can pend how interactive. Besides big cast gives by character role to big cast its why we have some small cast
Megs got pushed back to the back why all forget sometimes why did the movies forget it? Don't know
I grew up with movie with the bots i saw in cybertron but not only expanded my interest but more cast. I did give my respect to g1 getting g1 esk transformers mixed with others I know and keep thier rethym
If I have to pick I'll choose....
Cartoon design with movie nostalgic. This is why there's no live action series yet.
*Till* *all* *are* *one!*
Me: live action ZERO animation FIVE.
At best: live action ONE animation FOUR (giving live action first category)
Transformers Animated Was Much Better Than Transformers live action
And Prime was better than Animated
@@jakealter5504 wayyy better
I love Transformers Cybertron for the design Optimus like I said I used to try and sketch him like every time I saw his pose when he became jet Optimus in the little bit of time I was able to try and get a blank piece of paper an attempt to sketch him but I could never get it right
I’d prefer the live action first 3 movies with Sam Witwicky
Love your comparasions!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Bot
That's what I thought animated HAD to win.
The 2 points live action got were literally just handouts to make the video interesting. Animated wins ever category hands down. There is no comparison.
animated hands down, is better. Live action focuses too much on the humans, and the story lines scramble your brain and circuits with how loud they are. That and while the designs are so much more detailed, they just don't look as clean and nice as animated ones (G1 and Prime im staring at you). less is more sometimes people. guess movie directs forget the K.I.S.S addig. Keep It Simple Stupid (or S*ithead, whichever you prefer).
Live action designs, with the exception of Travis Knight's film, are down right HORRENDOUS... A bunch of H beams welded together in my opinion!
Yeah the live-action were mid when it comes to critical reception. Especially given all the behind-the-scenes stuff. I don't like the last knight all that much the one thing that ruined it was bumblebee just suddenly talkin and snapping Optimus out of it. There was not even a really good way of how he got his voice back like how the animated series like how Prime did it
Why can’t bumblebee talk in the movies?
Design, you have said it was close. But in reality, animated wins.
It's not because of nostalgia, its because of how grounded they are.
Admittedly Bumblebee took it over the top by upgrading the Transformer designs, but it's Bumblebee's face and Camero design that stood out the most.
Everyone else on animated stood out on their own, even those like the Seekers somehow made a copied design look unique, including the female Seeker, Slipstream.
I understand that you like to keep the scales balanced, but let's be honest here; Animated should have gotten the point for design. I understand where you are coming from, but in the Michael Bay movies, I couldn't tell who was a Decepticon and who was an Autobot! The only Autobots I could distinguish were Bumblebee and Optimus; everyone else looked the same!
Now that you are mentioned it, according to what I saw on internet, the Autobot from the movie ‘Age of extinction’ named Drift who look like a Samouraï and voiced by that talented Japanese actor Ken Watanabe , used to be a Decepticon before but now , he doesn’t even look like one .
Paramount should ditch the live action film and switch animation after the rise of the beasts trilogy and the one from blue Beatle director
