Fun fact: A few years ago when I was learning this trick, I got out with a friend to skate. After dozens of attempts I landed the Shuvit only a few times, at one point I got really angry and frustrated and began to be violent while doing the trick, I put way to much force in my rotation movement and accidently landed a Bigspin very clean... I screamed as hard as I could, my friend (who is a way better skater than me) screamed as well, we hugged and open a cold one. I have never landed a Bigspin this clean since.
thats because anyone who uses those products doesnt bother with flexy boards like the tan unless they want a mellow cruiser. stiff boards are a lot easier to slide, but the drop through on some loaded boards make them alright at lower speeds.
When i was 12, parents gave me longboard, and this was only trick that I learned before my board sank in the river T_T. (when i rid downhill an get small rock under the wheel) Oh, I am seized with nostalgia.
They're called drop through trucks. Top mounted are standard and the board is mounted on top of them. They do not get in the way on my Never Summer Heist DT (same board, just not made by Loaded) because they are not located in places that you really need to put your feet. Don't worry about it.
I swear, skaters on these vids crack me up. Its longboarders hating skaters and skaters hating longboarders. Jeez! I have a regular maple skate deck, and i have a longboard as well, i get a lot of use out of both, doing tricks and cruising equally. Stop hating and just get out there and skate, people! Peace and Love, Trey
I bought my bhangra 5 days ago and on the third day i learned the shuvit. It's a really simple trick to do, and it's easy to learn. I can't do a simple pivit (don't know how it's spelled) , but I still have learned the shuvit. So you don't have to get the pivit good before you can learn the shuvit, just go for the shuvit.
For everyone wondering that board he is on it a loaded tan tein it is a very nice and expensive board, symmetrical on both sides so it can be riden either way there is no front or no back but both sides do have kicktails!!!
my setup: $300 240px double whammy watermelon slider w/ 39 inch deck and 9mml vintage green slide wheels wit extra protection i wear a helmet shorts and running shoes and do switch stand up toe slides in my neighborhood i also like to bend down and put my hands behind my back because it looks cool
I usually don't like getting advise from kids my age, but this actually really helped. so thank you. By the way, that was some really intimate breathing on the camera man's part from 2:20 to 2:30
nice tutorial. just wondering, im sure you got question a couple times, but isnt it called nollie shuvit? you did mention nollie or fakie stance, but is this what a shuvit is on longboards (nollie shuvit). not sure if people are being lazy to properly lable tricks or if the tricks just got renamed lol. keep up the tuorials bud.
you guys are freaking amazing, thanks alot for the tips it was really really good. The dude on the tan tien please do more vids for sliding as i got ur board but with bear trucks and yellow stims but i like learning from people with the same set up or similar, so yea do more vids chur u rock man thanks again mantis :D
Oh well the top... different story. Usually the paint stays on the top unless you get a small sharp pebble lodged in the sole of your shoe and accidentally step on it and scrape the pebble across it, but that's rare. Sorry... the last sentence in my last post was rude Lol for some reason the thought of raw trucks totally slipped my mind.
tan tien has better quality and strength, because its made from bamboo, but the apex has better flex and is better for carving. personally i like the tien because of the concave desgin it has great pop for tricks and its very comfortable
When you had your ceviche, what did you find to be some fun/cool tricks for it? I got a campus cruiser a month ago, and I was just wondering some fun things to do.
@TheRELENTLESS920 Try releasing the board later than you think you should, i was trying this trick for a month and only got it down a few weeks ago and it was all because i was releasing to early. once you get it down then you start encorporating more speed and with that more shuv and this tricks becomes much easier
No matter what kind of riding you do, some paint is bound to come off no matter what. Rocks on the road will hit it and unpredictable things will happen. It only comes off on the bottom though usually. If it bothers you that much, then don't skate/longboard.
great vid man. everytime i try this my front foot lands behind the board (heel side of board, i ride regular). any tips on how to get it on the board? ive tried over 300 times and cant get the damn thing
I have serious problems with the jump.. i haven’t the right time to jump and also i jump a way too far away from the board.. or , when i jump on the place, the board does’t rotate 180 at all
hey i need help i manage to do the shuvit but my back foot stays on the board all the time. great vid though didnt know about the 90 degree turn then flick!
i dont think of it as a flick. for me its a pivot then i switch my feet back and combine them so that you start to switch back half way or so through the pivot so that the force of the release results in a flick but there is no flicking on my part

@Jazz I wish....
The guy at the end killed me. "Yeaah. Nice n' wide." *sniffs obnoxiously*
That wasn't at the end. It was like halfway through
one of the best home made how to videos ive ever seen.. awesome usually the make me wanna punch my computer lol
Thanks so much for the tutorial, just landed my first shuvit today
thats because anyone who uses those products doesnt bother with flexy boards like the tan unless they want a mellow cruiser. stiff boards are a lot easier to slide, but the drop through on some loaded boards make them alright at lower speeds.
2:17 camera man sound a bit stoned lol
When i was 12, parents gave me longboard, and this was only trick that I learned before my board sank in the river T_T. (when i rid downhill an get small rock under the wheel)
Oh, I am seized with nostalgia.
Ahh, ok I get it now.
Funny.
+Naso huh?

thats the nicest looking tan tein ive ever seen nice combo with the red trucks and wheels
its good advice...all i can say about this trick is all you need to do is just keep doing it no matter what

rofl
No, why would I? The kid above me is pathetic and makes skating look stupid, that's why I said rofl.
You're right. It takes determination, a passion for it, an epic person and yeah.......riding a scooter takes no skill :)
i saw this video and then went and bought that board the next day hahah
What bored is it ?
@@alexisdog3649 its the tan tein by loaded decks
I usually don't like getting advise from kids my age, but this actually really helped. so thank you. By the way, that was some really intimate breathing on the camera man's part from 2:20 to 2:30

@jamesal I totally agree it took me a long time to master this trick but if u just keep tryin ul get it. And nice vid quabencarl
It's a longboard. You should try it out.
That one's a Loaded Tan Tien.
Baahhuummm!!!
Nice video! Super thorough!
practice is the only way to learn, but with your tips first. very good. Can you make more videos with more tips about the basics?
for freeride try the earthwing supermodel , the deck is only 100 bucks and go to muirskate for the best prices
Shut it Bowen, I'd like to see you try to longboard hard shit like this, awesome dude keep longboarding!
tan tien has better quality and strength, because its made from bamboo, but the apex has better flex and is better for carving. personally i like the tien because of the concave desgin it has great pop for tricks and its very comfortable
Carl, Do you have any tips for the varial flip. I think thats the big thing i need to do to get daddiesboardshop to sponsor us
Please Reply
thanks! btw whats ur setup?
Please make a slide help video :) awesome tutorial though I can't do it on my board 43 inches and no nose :P
is that a butterbabe longboard with gullwing wheels, and oranngatang trucks???
@MrYuls118 I think theyre S9 centerset 82a race formulas
Where can I get the nose guards?
Amazon
that camera work spins me out, blurrgh
Madnscar... Try getting a Landyachtz Tomahawk, its good for the tricks, or a Landyachtz Loco (almost a big skateboard)
@QUABEnCARL Hey man what trucks are those? looks great
@QUABEnCARL So bro, do u reccomend the original apex? Im just starting out, wanna do both freeride and freestyle, mainly just slides and shit tho
@coolsteven1201 then its for downhill and street skating
this cameraman be poopin
I ride normal, but do my shuvits / anything with the nose goofy. is that weird?
When you had your ceviche, what did you find to be some fun/cool tricks for it? I got a campus cruiser a month ago, and I was just wondering some fun things to do.

What song nearing the end?
And excellent tutorial!
Only reason why I stayed on this video was because of Cudi lol
No matter what kind of riding you do, some paint is bound to come off no matter what. Rocks on the road will hit it and unpredictable things will happen. It only comes off on the bottom though usually. If it bothers you that much, then don't skate/longboard.
dam those are sick trucks. whats your setup?
i feel like doing shuvits seems a whole lot easier on a longbaord then a skateboard
@jellyman570 alright i guess. but dont get a loaded. it costs $20 bucks to make a tan tien including labor and its sold for $180 (i think)
hey can you do trick tip videos for all the tricks you know how to do
great vid man. everytime i try this my front foot lands behind the board (heel side of board, i ride regular). any tips on how to get it on the board? ive tried over 300 times and cant get the damn thing
@valongboarders yea theyre alright takes awhile to get em broken in all the way though
what i did was pivot, then pan step. and i would do that faster and faster until i was comfortable just going for it.
what is this magnificent board you're using sir?
I have serious problems with the jump.. i haven’t the right time to jump and also i jump a way too far away from the board.. or , when i jump on the place, the board does’t rotate 180 at all
hey i need help i manage to do the shuvit but my back foot stays on the board all the time. great vid though didnt know about the 90 degree turn then flick!
i clicked on the snow flake and i got distracted by it and i for got what i was watching lo
the swish and flick!
This was very help full thanks
you better get ready!
kid cudi, omg i already approve.
Those are sector nine race formulas. Decent wheels, but venom street snakes are better and they have a similar design.
@ModdedLongboardDub oh, ya its slightly smaller, just by a hair. Why? lookin between the beast and the tan tien?
BAM!
BAM!
Baum!
The very beginning of this video there's a few seconds of beats, I'm thinking it's from a cudi song, anyone know? Also solid vid
I got the same board...Thanks man...you make it look easy...after time it will be I know...lol
I like your puma suedes.
@MrYuls118 the wheels are sector 9 raceforms
yes i have them too and they're great and last forever
Life Through The Lens
What was the second board that u were using the one with the otang wheels and purple trucks
hey bud! nice video. What kinf of board is that. is there a specific name, i like the shape of it.
It is the Loaded tan tien, but I would reccomend an original longboard
your tan tien looks sick
theyre paris 180s and sector9 race formulas
i dont think of it as a flick. for me its a pivot then i switch my feet back and combine them so that you start to switch back half way or so through the pivot so that the force of the release results in a flick but there is no flicking on my part
whats your setup it looks sick!
Thank you Sooo much, i learn it like 2 days after seeing this video! Baam!
