I would like to thank The Toronto Sun for giving Mr. Cherry this stage to speak about what he loves. Hockey. I sincerely hope this would be a weekly thing during hockey days. Thanks again because we all really do miss Don.

If they didn't lose due to lack of effort then they must have lost to lack of overall team talent , those are the only two reasons for losing , either they didn't try hard enough or they just aren't good enough , pick one they both mean after 5 failed attempts that I count , It's insanity that trying the same thing over and over is going to yield a different result .

@@Nesqwikz i am a Nords fan and I love that the Battle of Alberta lives on. Closest thing I have seen to the Battle of Quebec RIP. Love how the crowd gets into it, the firewagon hard-hitting intense hockey, it's a class of its own. They play the game the way it was meant to.

I'll add another voice to the chorus from Alberta....would have been nice to have Toronto in the finals, but for now all eyes are on the Calgary-Edmonton matchup which should excite the whole country just as much.

As a Leafs fan who was 1 when they last won the cup I would just like to say I have grown to like the losing, kinda like how I've come to enjoy the ball-gag and whip. It didn't start out that way but things change. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks again, keep it up!

@George Benevides Trotz is one of the greatest coaches of all time. He has majorly overachieved with the Islanders, and is a defensive genius. He has a team full of capable scorers, now imagine that with a complete defensive game. Is it a risk? Sure, but I think it could take us to that next level of being true contenders.
I think a beast like Mike Keenan for at least a couple of years would make for some very entertaining hockey (drama|).

Cherry the don’t draft anyone from GTA is they feel the player would have too much pressure to succeed or develop. Shanny was a legend big strong player and his GM drafts small skill guys makes no sense either. Team lacks big players who can hit, fight. No teams scared to play Leafs

Losing hunter as GM was the biggest mistake.
Dubas has Surrendered like 4-5 Picks on Foligno and Gio (If they dont resign Gio) it was another disasterous move. The Leafs arent Drafting Young D Prospects in the first second rounds of these drafts because they have no draft picks almost every year for the last 4 years the leafs draft capital was atrocious again this offseason and hes already bitten into the 2 years into the future as well. The Leafs have zero shot of Drafting anyone significant at most of the NHL Drafts. Dubas has made so many mistakes he tries to fix them by quietly trading away draft picks that he could have used to get Star Cheap Younger Players.

A team shouldn’t pick a prospect based on what country they come from; pick the best player regardless of country of origin.
Theres a Reason Canada wins all the International Events and the Euros do not. Every once in a Blue Moon Finland and Sweden will win but those are few and far between. So many good Canadian Players they are missing out on its a JOKE. This has been going on forever by the Leafs and all there Euro Prospects are usually very underwhelming.
Get Don on the Leafs bench and mold this team to grow a heart.

I don't think it ever was a family thing,...53 yrs old, grew up in Oakville Ontario, now residing in NB Canada, anyways to the point...I went to many games as a young fella, during the 70's and 80's...the families were up in the grey's, the gold's were nothing but suits and ties, and ladies in mink coats.not even paying attention to the game..it's always been just a place to be seen...even though we're talking 30/40 years ago, tickets have always been high , but I would say this, despite ticket prices .I do see more real fans in the good seats, than I think was the case yrs ago..

In 2027, the Leafs will still be not making the playoffs or exiting after the first round. The Leafs firepower just doesnt show up when it matters and the league playoff structure isn't going to change anytime soon.
