As a 13 year old I was there, wearing pretty much what I'm wearing now. Jeans, a Joy Division T-shirt and a pair of Chuck Taylors.. Funny how things change yet stay the same...
This is so far from anything. So far from when P.I.L were a genuinely radical proposition, between 1978 and 1981. So far from when P.I.L were still really interesting, between 1982 and 1986. But also so far from that seismic shift in 1991, at which anything and everything that was even remotely marginal or underground was made the mainstream and which has ruined everything ever since, and in which John Lydon has existed as an elder statesmen. Such a weird limbo.
Musically, their early stuff wasn't anything too amazing. Perhaps I'm not a "true" fan, but I much prefer their late 80's cleaner sound with John McGeoch on guitar.
yakidk89 best ones musically were first issue, metal box, flowers of romance, album, 9, This Is PIL and What The World Needs Now, for me personally and the others are great but those are the most inspirational for me, and for me personally Keith Levene, John McGeoch and Lu Edmonds are all guitar heroes of mine for completely different reasons
Are we expected to believe that John L is his own man and not a product of Tavistock? As The Sex Pistols, they were as manufactured or at least manipulated as anything before or since. I want to believe in his intrinsic goodness. I just don’t know whether I can.
WTF? Great show? countdown revolution? You have got to be joking, it only lasted 6 months or so, it was terrible. WTF? Great show? PIL mimed 1 or 2 songs. How is that a great show? I was there by the way. Perhaps you would have preferred to see Kim Wilde mime 2 songs. I cant remember who else mimed that afternoon at the metro...
@@arthurdent6828 Every act mimed on that show and Countdown & Top of the pops, etc etc. Show lasted more than 6 mths. Ran from July '89 until Dec. '90.
John McGeoch - Champion and Legend.

@@hereticNickI neglected to thank you for uploading this memorable clip...YA KID K IS THE ONE!!
Love the way that he throws the microphone away at 2:35, seeing as though it's pre-recorded & they're all miming/pretending anyway!!

My favorite PiL song ever. :)
Happy - the best LP by PIL

Teddy rocking a mullet! 😁
Whatever happened to super Ted?
I fortunately saw this tour at the Revesby Roundhouse- shitty venue but one of the best concerts ever.
This song gets my vote for the new British national anthem.
Wouldn't Go That Far
But Not Bad Song,
This is so far from anything. So far from when P.I.L were a genuinely radical proposition, between 1978 and 1981. So far from when P.I.L were still really interesting, between 1982 and 1986. And yet, this sounded like nothing else at the time.

Great show, poor song.. Love your username: YA KID K is the one.
