    Hi, can I ask does the 35 have sufficient power to comfortably use the log splitter? Is the splitter slow or any other problems thanks

    • @lukeelms3080
      @lukeelms3080  8 місяців тому

      Yeah the hydraulic pump provides enough pressure on tick over to split most logs, however it won't split really knotty wood as it triggers the bypass valve

    Great video apart from the music… at least I could mute, I’m not cultured maybe? Neat job with the hydraulics, need to do this modification to my MF135, thanks for the info. Keep up the good work.

      Lol, it would fit in while bombing people in a war movie. I guess it depends on your music tastes. My 4 year old gets me to listen to Peppa Pig or some other obnoxious stuff while working on things. Moonlight Sonata is her favorite song though. @Corvacar

    So there is constant pumping to the rear hydraulic socket? I need constant pumping to two sockets so I can use a steerage hoe that is controller by the person at the back to steer left and right, would this work for that or do I need a dual system?

    • @lukeelms3080
      @lukeelms3080  4 місяці тому

      There is constant pumping when the linkage control lever is moved all the way up. To have two sockets constantly pumping would mean the line from the diverter would need to be spilt into two ends.

  • @kilburry1
    @kilburry1 7 місяців тому +1

    Have you used new bolts to fix down the Diverter? I am using the old bolts and am finding no room for a spanner on the rearward bolt and no room for even a slimline socket and therefore cannot clamp it down tight enough.

    • @lukeelms3080
      @lukeelms3080  7 місяців тому

      I used the original bolts and had plenty of room with the spanner, are you using a different design of diverter?

    • @kilburry1

      Nope same one. bought it from May Hill. I'm putting on a 135 if that makes a difference. Top cover looks the same.@@lukeelms3080

    So your add on diverts the flow from the lifting arms to an aux while using the std lift control lever, am I getting that right? Well done. Where did you get the Diverter??

    • @lukeelms3080
      @lukeelms3080  Рік тому

      Yes it diverts flow from the arms and they stay in position, the diverter came from may hill tractor parts, to use the log splitter I put the position control lever into the constant pumping section at the top of the quadrant and use the lever on the log splitter to control it👍

    Interesting, I think my phone has been listening to me again, I was talking to a hydraulic engineer about this very subject on Friday morning, then this pops up on uTube!! Is this a system you have come up with yourself Luke, or is there info out there which would explain it all. The reason I’m interested in doing the same is I have an old Tarrup flail forage harvester which I use for topping weeds in our paddocks (don’t like sprays) but I need to pick the cutter off the ground between patches, so as not to cut the grass, this, at the moment is done by winding a handle around, I want to use a ram. I take it this system doesn’t create a double acting system does it? Musics fine😊

    • @lukeelms3080
      @lukeelms3080  Рік тому

      Thanks 👍, I had seen on UA-cam someone put a flow and return system on and which hole to put the return pipe in, then I bought the valve block from May Hill Tractor parts and fitted it, the fluid only flows in one direction but with a valve block like that one the log splitter it can become double acting. 👍
