  • What if you found a portal to a parallel universe? What if you could slide into a thousand different worlds, where it’s the same year, and you’re the same person, but everything else is different? And what if you can’t find your way home? Same planet. Different dimension.
And therein lies the premise behind SLIDERS, the science fiction television series co-created by Tracy Tormé & Robert K. Weiss, which ran for three seasons from 1995-1997 on Fox before moving to SyFy for its final two seasons from 1998-2000, for a total of 87 episodes. Here is the first in the FANDOM ENTANGLEMENT retro review podcast series covering both parts of the self-titled Pilot Episode (original airdate: March 22, 1995 on Fox). While researching anti-gravity, brilliant grad student Quinn Mallory accidentally opens an inter-dimensional portal which sends him and three companions on a cosmic roller-coaster ride to parallel Earths.
The first season of the series starred Jerry O’Connell as Quinn Mallory, Sabrina Lloyd as Wade Welles, Cleavant Derricks as Rembrandt “Crying Man” Brown, and legendary actor John Rhys-Davies as Professor Maximillian Arturo. The screenplay for the pilot was written by Tracy Tormé from a story by Robert K. Weiss and Tracy Tormé, and was directed by Andy Tennant.
Join co-hosts Damon Sugameli & Mike Bloxam as they dive deep into the 2-hour pilot episode that introduced the world (or worlds) to this cult classic from the late 90s. Does it still hold up after almost 30 years? Hope you enjoy our analysis and review!

Apologies for the downgrade in audio quality. Damon has been experiencing recording issues with Riverside for the past several months and we’ve had to switch back to Skype as a temporary solution until we can get things sorted out. We tried to edit out as much of the feedback/static as we could.
This first episode is dedicated to Sliders co-creator Tracy Tormé, who passed away on January 4, 2024. Keep on sliding, Tracy.

After 29 years of watching I never noticed the R was backwards.
