Oversized tees, shoes were getting slimmer, Nike wasn't massive in skateboarding yet...dude, it fells like 2010 or prior. Think I'm getting old, but 2010 is still so clear and fresh in my mind... Anyway, this was awesome to watch. ❤️
2010 skateboarding industry was still fresh, core, and pure. You had a few nike pros which wasn't invasive over the whole industry. Nowadays adidas, cons, Nike, lame cariuma and nb have turned skateboarding into a billboard sport.
Seeing all these old stops uploaded... reminds me of what I always have liked about SLS, and in a broader stroke skating in general... whether these guys are in the mix to win or at the bottom of the stack in a contest, or just having a sesh, they just go for it, have fun, and when gnarly shit gets put down, everyone is smiles and stoked to see it. No other sport's athletes have the comradarie and mutual respect that the vast majority of skaters have.
I wouldn't tell how much I would enjoy watching old SLS. It's so nostalgic it almost brings a tears to my eyes watching those kids back then while knowing where they are now. That's life and you never know where it takes you.
Don’t understand why some people prefer this format!? The new format lets them try their hardest runs and tricks. This format made Shane do a backlip to win instead of a switch double 360 flip like he does in the new format. Thank you SLS for the best contests and not having Dydrek as a commentator.
Its dope watching these old contest again but im so thankful for the new format. The old contest just weren't as gnarly you really got more points for a tail slide than a sketchy flip trick. And why even do a 360 into a grind when you can board slide twice and you'll get more point for not falling
Wow its wild how much more difficult and complex skating is now. If you did some of the highest scoring tricks in this comp now you would lose so badly. Especially when you have 13 year old Ginwoo in the X games doing double flips to lip slide casually in his run. The fact that a 270 lip slide for an 8.2 was the highest scoring trick in the history of street league is wild AF.
I think the sections are great, but "every attempt counts" is a stupid rule. It forces skaters to be more safe with their trick selection. Imagine if you had the same sections, same number of attempts, but only counted, say, three or four best attempts. We would see a radically different selection of tricks from these guys! Skateboarding is not about consistency, bailing is fine and you shouldn't be punished for it! It's about what gnarly or technical or innovative trick you can pull of in the end that counts!
Dude watching these back makes me so mad how they overscored Ryan Sheckler for everything. They gave everyone else 5.2 or less for tre flip over the bump to bump then they give Ryan Sheckler 6.2 for the same exact thing. Chris Cole got a 4.9 for a tre flip. They gave Shane a 6.1 for a switch tre flip. Hahaha

Anyway, this was awesome to watch. ❤️
Remember the super padded up shoes? Like the osiris d3?
I actually like the oversized t-shirt style

@@vgrepairs every Cons skater is a beast.
So is your mom awesome to watch lol
I wonder how it would be if they went back to this format for 1 contest. Would be interesting for sure.
This nyjah and Shane O’Neil woul reach the thousands by the end of the conteat
Contest
But it would be awesome
@Samuel Stevens it would definitely be beneficial for more pure street skaters and we would definitely see more of those people
People would start flipping their board again. 😂
Man, this feels like 2010😂💘😪
Miss that year.. hot summers skating swimming and music
@@tylerforrest2115 ah my dude, that sounds so sick💘 but dude you still have a whole life to make newer and better memories

Seeing the age cards on those skaters really got me in my feels
THIS FORMAT WAS WAY MUCH INTERESTING THAN THE REGULAR LINE x BEST TRICK FORMAT, way more equal and entertaining
Yes bro I agree for sure
Finally get to see these in high quality. Thank you so much
Whoa, coming back to watch these older SLS comps, this old format was so much better. Damn.
I wouldn't tell how much I would enjoy watching old SLS. It's so nostalgic it almost brings a tears to my eyes watching those kids back then while knowing where they are now. That's life and you never know where it takes you.
Those videos are gold. Thanks SLS

Shane O !!! Thanks a lot SLS

They're all so young 😂😂
Thanks for the flash back 🤙🤙
The thing that makes me feel old is that these guys are still super young lol, Nyjahs only 25(approximately) haha
13 years later SLS needs to return to this format

I think that kid Nyjah has a future in this sport
That beat for the ASHOC ad before this video is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
24:25
Chris Cole just squeaking away 🤣
damn remember greg lutzka?
55:04 - Nyjah barely land the trick and the score was already on the display. LOL
Chaz ortiz had landed it already so the score was precedent
I’m so glad the contest format has evolved

44:40 A child fell on the left side.
I wish I was into skateboarding during this year. Chaz Ortiz is cracked poit
This was a good one. Shane O and Chris Cole going head to head
Old but good. Lutzka is way out his league in this! Love how when he lands trick he thinks is sick he gives you the mega squat😂
Im watching it all one by one
Shane ❤
I don't know how they can judge so fast
they used a computer system back then so no judges
Dread Jah, best Jah😈😈
My first street league :)
So crazy watching the first year and now in 2022. So much more dangerous now
@1:05:06 Sheckler is like dude just go don't even think just do a basic trick
Really like this format, very well filmed not like the new shitty filming they do with the GoPro just for endorsing the product.
Hope to watch this kind of game this 2022 its the best. Not just doin lines and best tricks.
Chris Cole. The only skater to do a willy grind in a contest on purpose.
Classic!
THANK YOU!!!!

Came so far haha, looks more like a gameshow
The blonde chick - 1:03:20 - "So is that harder?" - lmao
that chick has no clue she just witnessed a two piece back to back from two of the sickest pros in their prime.
Puta que recuerdos me trae esta street league, cuando chaz ortiz era la mera verga..
Todavía lo es solo que ya no se ve tanto como antes...
38:05
That was Eric Koston who yelled 😂
was there no runs in this ?
La cuarentena no va tan mal jajaj que buen skateboarding
Jajaja ya me vi todos los street league mas de 1 vez y no me aburren...
Sometimes i think the judges are stoned ....but we have 2020 ...
How do they take it all down ?
God I love skateboarding.
5:23 Louie? :D
7:44 Nyjah his switch heel 4.8, 10:37 Paul his switch heel 5.2 WHY?
Better pop and better style!
Daamm that can change alot
Sheckler stands out here. Just goes bigger. Ortiz too.
Holy moly, I didn't know Shane had won in the past :o what a final!!!

was Ryan an addict at this time?
Is that Rob Dyrdek announcing this?
150,000 dollar back lip that's so brutal lol.
360 shove gets more then a switch heel?!?!?

This format was so bad basically encouraged safe tricks thank god things changed.
