To outsiders who were never born or raised in Lowell, the city has such a negative rep. But in reality, there’s so much community, brotherhood, a big arts culture and such. Not enough people know the struggle and sacrifices our families made before they came to the US. Thank you, Mac, for highlighting my hometown 🙏🏽

He’s not traveling abroad, he’s not reviewing communities internationally, he’s giving us positive exposure to communities that are normally viewed in a negative light. And I appreciate that!

The asain community as a whole, but especially Cambodian people in Lowell, have always been so welcoming and humble. I love the unity and culture. Born and raised in Lowell during the tough times 90s-2000s. Moved to Boston later in life, still visit family up there and always enjoy some authentic Khmer foods in Cambodian town. A lot has changed and change is for the better.

Shout to lowell’s cambodian community. They’re deep out here n they really paved a way for themselves. Even got cambodians in the city council now. People are quick to judge communities they dont know about but step into one of these neighborhoods and it wont take long to realize what a deep sense of community they have. Ties are strong there and people have eachother backs. Lowell as a whole gets a bad rep but its honestly probably my favorite city in the state and im not even from there. Lowell is the city that most fully captures the essence of massachusetts in my opinion. If people only had one place to visit in MA and they really wanted to immerse themself in the culture instead of just being a tourist lowell would be my first suggestion.

Even a lot of our small little suburbs n rural towns have more history than some of the major cities in other parts of the country. I appreciate u showing our state so much love tho. As someone who lives 45 mins from there I must say I LOVE Lowell. It's a very diverse city. It's where Irish Micky Ward and Dick Eklund from "The Fighter" grew up and still reside. Also home to UMASS Lowell. Great blue collar New England City!! 👍🇺🇸

I grew up in Lowell been here my whole life when i was younger there wasn't many Cambodian Bloods it was mainly abz Asian Boyz set of the Crips I used to hang around with a lot of them when one of the worst projects was still around Shaughnessy Terrace it was wild back then but since then little cambodia's opened up everything's calm down a lot
