I was doing it differently, your way is easier. I was winding first than trying to fish the new rope while trying to hold it.
Also because of my sailing days, I tend to use a figure 8 stopper knot. Slightly bigger knot.

A buddy of mine always said "if you can't tie knots, tie lots!" Unfortunately I fall in the latter category..LOL!

@@eastcoastlumberjack I`m not a knot expert by any stretch. If I still had my Scout uniform, they'd remove me my knot badge. I only know 3 and only use 3. The figure 8, that's my stopper knot of choice, bowline and trucker's hitch, good when you have rope, but no ratchet straps.
I guess 4, I can still tie my own shoes :-)

And the only difference between the figure 8 and the stopper knot you use, is the size of the ball, both are as effective. The larger ball is useful when the hole you feed it in is slightly on the large side, less chance of passing through. I just use it everywhere out of habit now.

Do You know that you can adjust the "playback speed" on UA-cam to play it faster? I'm 2 minutes in and this video seems well-paced compared to other chainsaw repair videos
